Few life-forms can survive on the ice planet Hoth. Between its subzero surface temperatures, shearing winds and frequent witheouts, the environment should be considered extremely hostile even to properly outfitted individuals; mechanical equipment and communications technology are prone to freeze and malfunction as well, making any minor setback potentially lethal.
During the war between Republic and Emprie, the Hoth system was the site of a major fleet battle. This resulted in a large number of starships falling into Hoth's gravity well and crashing on the planet surface. These derelict ships have become the base of operations for a large group of pirates, as well as a center of dispute between Republic and Imperial forces.

Gorgeous. I always found Hoth to be relaxing in SWTOR and I often go back... just to chill. It's a nice, cool place to relax and meditate. In most Star Wars games, we usually see Hoth during the Battle of Hoth and with plenty of snowtroopers and walkers. It's nice to see it in a more peaceful mood.
That's true. Hoth has a unique atmosphere.

I would role play as a Jedi and do things outside of the story thinking if I was actually a Jedi back at the time what I would do, and even after my level was far beyond me needing reason to go to hoth I would go back with my apprentice, to find artifacts and jsut walk not with speeder or transport off into the cold ice wastes of the planet far from any other life, and sit and meditate on the force, and feel the force of the deeper galaxy not hidden by life or dark side or light, just the force in balance in the desolate wastes and corners of the galaxy. And remind myself and my padawan there is more to a jedi then fighting or the republic or the dark and the light, but the force as it is. And understand it is bigger then all of us, and that it has been before and it will be there after we pass eternal even in the far reaches of distant frozen sea's in places remote. And that if there was not a war going on I would spend more time with my padawan on trips like this, communing with the deeper force, And sad thinking how much time the war has taken from my padawan and my's ability to meditate and grow spiritually and learn, but the republic is in need, but we were meant to be keepers of the peace, philosophers and scolors, healers and peacemakers, not soldiers or generals, but in it's way that is the will of the force, the dark side, is a corruption of the force, not it's balance, and fending it off is trying to keep the deeper balance of the balance of places like hoth so that it will not become corrupted, hoth is shrouded by death and desolation but it is not evil, it is the balance that is meant in the force, next we travel to a place full of life, to teach my padawan, that life and death are one in the force. And we fight not to spread the light, but we fight to preserve the balance, to preserve the nature and the magnificent desolation both.
The sith seek to force the force to bend to their will but they are foolish in their attempt to control the force they only become corrupted by a growing cancer of the dark side, that forces them to do evil not nessisary evil not pragmatism but evil for fun and for evils sake, it turns their emotions the good in them of love and comrodery and corrupts them they think power will free them, but while they think they have freed themselves from the force, they have become slaves to the dark side, they can't love as they wish they can't let the good of their emotions come through, they become more evil many I suspect more then they would have ever wished, and when they are surrounded by others seeking power, they are always in fear of being betrayed, that they have to worry who they love that they may just use them or spy on them or be doing it for their own power. And my padawan and I understand and don't hate the sith but we feel sad for them, they want to be free but they fell into a trap, and to remember our path as jedi consulars is not to kill sith but to guide and teach and heal the deep wounds the dark side has caused in so many sith and that we should try and save those sith that we can. And show them that true freedom is by finding balance in the force and yes there is darkness and light, but not as a means for power and control, but by flowing with it and finding the grey area in the force between the Dark and light Ashla and bogen the still and the calm you can be truly free. We head the advice of the jedi for attachment and hear their warning but also see the truth in the sith that strength can be gain from our emotion, that the love and attachment between say us a padawan and master, can give us strength, and by seeing the truth in the jedi and the sith, there is a deeper truth we see together through the force, that so many of the sith and jedi don't see. I may not be the most respected master in the jedi because I bend their rules, but only because I've learned the force has deeper truths and I choose to follow the true will of the force and pass on my knowledge and understanding to guide the jedi to be better, to redeem the sith I can and to establish a path that jedi and sith and force users after me and my padawan may follow. And years later when separated for many years from my padawan and wife we reunite after she thought I was dead, and she had moved on I come back to find she had grown so much in the force and as a jedi, And she is no longer just a padawan but a full blown knight. And I can't help but swell with pride how much she's grown, happy that I've seen where my teaching played a roll but also sad but happy and proud she had learned and grown so much on her own and even outgrown her master in ways, feeling such a strange sense of pride but in sadness for letting them go on beyond the path that I lead her down and seeing her carry on further then I could ever go, passing the torch into the future, and knowing that teaching and truth and the path of the true jedi will outlive us both. Now we return to hoth, not as master and apprentice, but as equal masters, similar but unique each their own part of a greater whole, and also standing there with my wife who thought me dead for many years but had also forced to make peace and move on from my death/capture, I can't blame her for leaving and stopping to try and rescue me or thinking me dead, though my heart aches, but I'm also proud that my death and passing did not make her become consumed with rage or revenge nor did her attachment to me lead her down a dark path but she stayed with the light and the force, and began to teach her own padawans carrying on the work, part of me feeling proud wanting to take some credit, for the amazing jedi she became but also seeing, she is her own person very wise and skilled, and my equal if not having surpassed me now. And learning the hardest part of being a master is learning we are the thing they must grown beyond. And that I feel is the greatest lesson I learn as a master, is seeing them outgrow me.
We sit in the snow as I ponder this, and we talk, with deep meaning almost as deep as the force we feel around us. And there with my equal and wife, she tells me she still loves me, and I still love her, and then I see that, our separation was in fact the will of the force, and the final lesson for us to understand as grey jedi. That in order to pass we had to learn to not let our attachment control us. And mastering our emotions is the path, not suppressing and burring them as the Jedi order who have lost their way from the deeper force, and not being consumed by corruption and darkness which will only turn around and control the one who thinks they control it. If only the Jedi council would listen to me and see we can change the order for the better that we should learn to manage our connections and attachments and grow our love and friendship, not cut ourselves off from it, but as jedi we should guide new jedi how to deal with it, and we would be better off as an order. But I'm in the minority, and can not change the rest, but at least here I'm free with the snow and the wind, I feel the force in balance, and I'm with the one I love and in the end, I've found my peace and found my path. -Jedi Master of the order, in the days of the old republic, Phoenix- May the force be with you.

Love hearing this while it’s cold outside, i remember such good times going through these missions when i played swtor and I always found the music so relaxing and nostalgic. Love this.
