    I had to laugh right away hearing nothing but the sound of the turn signal. I remember growing up, riding in my grandmother's large sedan (don't even know what make/model it was) and that was the only sound we'd hear...no music! Decades later and that's me, driving around deep in thought and in total silence. Still pretty young but I've become my grandmother in that respect, ha ha.

    1:13 The problem with this car and most other cars in its segment is the lack of interior quality. Yes from a first glance the design feels luxurious and looks fancy, but it is entirely made out of cheap plastics. And you know what happens to those plastics during cold winter or hot summer days? They rattle loudly and inconsistently. Those connection points tick and buzz when the sun warms them up and unlike in previous year models, there is ZERO insulation between the metal and the trim pieces to cut costs. Great review btw!

    • @jond4328

      Its a 23k vehicle! Who is it that you know that sells vehicles under 25 k that ISN'T plastic everywhere in the cabin. Ford sells 75+ k Expeditions that has cheap plastic everywhere. And also Hyundai sells far superior vehicles built with reinforced steel at there respective price points over ANY OTHER MANUFACTURERS.

      My wife picks up ours's on Friday. We wanted a white one with the gray leather seats, but we quickly found that no Hyundai dealerships in and about our state have any. We ended up buying the Limited that is an electric shadow color with black leather seats. We are excited to see it and finally get it as our own. They gave us a loaner Elantra base model to use until we pick up the car. It is black. It is really her car, as I am retired and mostly don't drive all that much except trips to the hardware store and local grocery stores or such. We are indeed excited about this vehicle. We traded in our 2013 Honda CRV, which served us for years with no real issues at all. Hoping this one will do as well. I was surprised to find that the white paint costs $500 and the other colors cost nothing.

      I bought the 2023 sel with convenience package in October 2022. I can't say anything but so far so good, I really like the exterior look. I think the electronics are also very nice, but in the end could possibly be another expensive fix if it breaks, I think I would have to drive a car for a couple of years before I can give a full thumbs up. The engine is quiet but the seats are not that comfortable.

    Great video.. My only gripe is that I wish you differentiate the trims and features of the car, to help clueless viewers who don't know what this car offers. For an example, the SEL trim has 2 packages. You can say this particular SEL has analog dash and 8 inch screen. But can UPGRADE to the SEL Convenience to get a full digital dash, 10.25 inch screen, heated seats, leather wrap steering wheel, and 17 inch alloy rims. It help viewers to understand what this particular trim offers. And I know you had reviewed different Elantra trims in past videos to know this. But educate those who don't know. Don't make it seem this is the ONLY feature the SEL offers. Then someone buys it because of your video review and didn't know there's another SEL package trim that offer better tech and interior layout.

    Used it for about two months as a rental vehicle and the car had only 23k km on it. At this low mileage the horn wasn't working. The windscreen had cracks. I could feel the vibrantion in the brake pedal upon applying the brake over 60 or 70km/h. The doors were very light. You'd feel cheap when closing them. This car shakes on highway. But, I'd say that it's more fuel efficient, more responsive and much more quicker than Civic.

    • @jraheemjefcoat429
      @jraheemjefcoat429 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Looks is the eye of the beholder. I think it's sleek and modern..That "bar" is to form a cocoon cockpit, giving it a driver's focus interior. I love it. Cars like Jaguar and Corvette has it.

    • @garytryan
      @garytryan 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jraheemjefcoat429 I agree. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
      Regardless, I think the bar is awful and unnecessary. You said corvette’s have it. They do, because in a car with 450 horse power that gets you to 0-60 in seconds you need it. A “cockpit” makes sense. This car has 140 hp and takes over 8 seconds to get to 60. You don’t need it.
      The corvette’s bar has almost all interior cabin controls on the middle bar. This one has nothing. Serves no purpose.
      The corvette’s bar is wrapped in premium leather. This bar is just a cheap piece of plastic. When you grab it, it creaks and crackles. Not only does it look cheap, and feel cheap, it is cheap.
      So if you like it fine, but comparing it to the corvettes center bar doesn’t hold water. They’re completely different. One is highly usable, feels solid and luxurious, is maybe even necessary when driven hard. This one has no use, isn’t necessary at all, and feels like cheap plastic, because that’s what it is.

    • @jraheemjefcoat429
      @jraheemjefcoat429 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@garytryan The point of the car is to make it sporty look and feel. Yes, it's not Corvette. But, I applaud Hyundai for giving us something different, than the typical Civic and Corolla. And this car don't only goes 147hp..There's a whole performance N does 276hp. Which make sense on why Hyundai gave the interior a cockpit sporty look. And as for the "cheap plastic", it's not a $30k car. So cost cutting have to go somewhere to make it affordable. I actually test drove the new Elantra Limited. I love the driver's focus feel in the cabin. The plastic didn't creak or rattle while I was driving. If you grab it hard like an ass, then yeah it will creaks. I'm not gonna drive like a speed demon in it. Now if I got the N, then that's a different story. I can see passenger grabbing that bar on the N version, while doing twisty bits on the race track.

    • @garytryan
      @garytryan 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jraheemjefcoat429 Yes, I understand they have a performance edition, but this isn’t it, so that’s the car I’m commenting on.
      I just believe form should follow function. An “oh shit” bar in the middle of the cabin doesn’t make it sporty. You can put a spoiler on it, still doesn’t make it sporty. It’s just all superficial.
      The Mazda 3 and Civic use less plastic and their entry level cars are not 30,000 dollars. As far as creaking, I promise you it does. Another review of the car on TH-cam shows the reviewer grabbing the bar, and you can hear it. If you’re going to put the bar there, people are going to grab it. So sure, if you ignore the bar, it makes no noise.
      You’re right it is different. I much prefer the clean looks of the Mazda 3 or new civic. And I think they could make the interior of this car driver focused without the bar.
      But as you said in the beginning, looks are in the eye of the beholder, so I’m glad you like it. Each to his own.

    • @jraheemjefcoat429
      @jraheemjefcoat429 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@garytryan And I prefer the sportiness and the technology of the Elantra. And like I said, I didn't hear any creaks when I test drove the car. Other Reviewers or Commenters you mentioned, are irrelevant to me..Grant it, the interior in Mazda 3 and Civic is nice. But it doesn't hold a candle to Elantra technology features. And it's best in class in interior space for a compact car.
