Hey man great video! I just got this sound bar for my birthday today and I was blown away by how clear and rich sounding this speaker was. I have never owned a sound bar before so I can’t compare how well this one sounded to other sound bars, but I think this ones possibly better than a lot of over priced brands. The bass was pretty good in my opinion and it definitely shook the whole room, for how small of a subwoofer it is it sure did sound like a way bigger one. I’m happy and satisfied with this sound bar!

I didn't see this before, but this was a nice review of the soundbar. I just bought my first Smart TV - 65" Vizio (I've had the same LCD 50" since 2009, when I came back from my first deployment) and was VERY unpleasantly surprised to hear that TVs just have crap for audio built in these days. So naturally went and got a sound bar, and loved the sound of this. Found one on open-box, and figured I would give it a chance. First attempt was a bust as the speaker was blown, so took it back and grabbed a new Polk S2, and glad I did. Glad to see others are having the same pleasing experience I am!

I put the sub behind the tv in a corner and it kicks way harder then in front like you have it in the vid. For my space I probably wouldnt want it any heavier. Nice review man. What does night mode do?
oh nice glad you found that perfect spot and thanks for the tip for other who are looking for way to set up the sub. Night mode just lowers the bass so it won't hit hard when people are trying to sleep basically and makes the voices in the show/movie pop more without having to turn up the tv loud.

I just picked this up today and got it connected. So far I noticed the clean/clear sound right off the back. Still doing some further testing while connected with HDMI ARC

I have this exact model hooked up to my 70 inch in the garage Mahal and sounds fantastic with sports and music along with movies and if I shut the door to watch a movie it’s amazing almost like movie theater quality I liked it so much I bought another one for the living room

Omg get it!!! I went into best buy and fell in love with a vizio sound system and it was 500. Before I bought it I wanted to see what else was around and told myself to only judge off aound and not off price. To my surprise I never heard of the brand but it sounded awesome. And once I heard the price was 179. I was sold. It was between this and a 500 dollar system. This was so worth 200 bucks.

Love the review! I got one about a month ago, and my mom followed suit shortly after. However, she hated that she couldn't control the volume from her regular remote. So she returned it and got an LG for the same price, but the sound was awful, so she returned that as well. Do you have any suggestions for soundbars that compare to how good the sound is on the Signa S2 for around the same price point?

i just had to tell you... My Polk S2 package arrived today. Just as you said in your video, this was very easy. I was able to unpack, install and enjoy in 5 minutes. As you characterized it, the sound bar offers a “full sound” and the woofer adds some depth but it doesn’t shake the room, it’s not designed to make that chest pounding compression you’d find in a real movie theater. However I couldn’t be more pleased. For the inexpensive price tag, the ease in which you can set it up, the wide, crisp, full sound - and I can connect my iPhone by Bluetooth to listen to my music through this sound bar - this is a GREAT package. Thank you again for your accurate and informative video review.
The sub on my Signa S2 thumps on movies and TV programming. I had the bass turned up with Cinema mode on.
I ended up turning the bass down.
I use the S2 with a Sony UPB-X800 BD player (2018) and a Sony KD-55X750F 4k HDR tv (2018).
The one negative on my setup is the Dolby displaying a green light when watching a Dolby mixed movie over the air or with BD player. Also, I have had to unplug the power one time and the ARC cable one time, as the soundbar seemed to be confused when turning my tv on. I would rate it 4 out of 5 stars overall. Otherwise, it has excellent sound with plenty of bass.

Soundbar is awesome nice clear sound nice bass for my livingroom easily connected to my echo dot 3rd generation only drawback is the remote is complete trash the buttons are hard to push and you have to damn near point it directly at the soundbar to get it to work but its still a pretty good soundbar for the price and your review is what convinced me to buy it

Great video, have you connected this soundbar using hdmi arc/earc yet. Optical sounded decent . I have a U7g and I've puchases this soundbar but have yet connected it !!

If people don't like the bass you can always tune the bass box with polyfill, add or remove by stuffing the box with more or less of it. Super easy to do.

Hey, Rodney, great descriptions in the soundbar features - a really well done video. Glad you offered plenty of info on the remote and voice enhancement features, the caution on the bluetooth cons, and the fact that the passive subwoofer is fairly capable but won't produce "wall crumbling" bass, which like you said, can be good for a smaller room. I sold a ton of Polk Audio product in the 2000's, and this bar looks like a good budget product. Liked👍 and subscribed.

I feel like if you’re not trying to kill the rest of the house then get what you want but I have two of them in two different places and they sound fantastic. The polk is all on point.
Is the bass good for like hip hop music, for like deep and hard bass or does the subwoofer cant handle it at high volume? Also is it at max volume very loud?

I bought this sound bar at Best Buy for $149 on sale. I have a Samsung Q60T tv and I was able to connect it through HDMI eARC port and it sounded very rich and full. Two days later it disconnected from HDMI and I had to use the optical cable. The sound is still nice, but hdmi have it a much fuller sound. 1 month later, my tv won’t recognize the sound bar through hdmi. Tried all the trouble shooting you can think of and no luck.

You'd get a lot better bass response if you put that subwoofer port about six inches from the wall... preferably in the corner.

Hey man, please advise.. This or the Sony HTMT300 from Best Buy for $200? I know this one is more powerful, but I live in an apartment. I have the Sony now, but thinking about exchanging it for this. I haven’t heard the the Sony soundbar so I don’t wanna speak on that one. But this one it’s a good sounding soundbar, the bass is not that big and booming so in your apartment you won’t annoy your neighbors with crazy bass. But I don’t know how good your soundbar now sounds or other the Sony, I don’t know if your downgrading or at the same level because I haven’t heard the Sony
I have this paired w my TCL 65” and I love it! bought it 2018 Black Friday Best Buy $179 will upgrade to the S3 this coming holiday if the price is right!

Almost everything is the same but yes the chrome cast, 4K and 8k support and google assistant is mainly the new features
I’m not gonna lie though bud having that chromecast to the soundbar might be nice for some people. I got the roku sound bar that I’m testing out and I love having the stream stick apart of the soundbar. It was only $161 total so really good so far but yea I will have that review up in a couple more days.

Honestly if you got the budget definitely the JBL 5.1 hands down. With that you are gonna get that crazy movie theater shaking bass, surround sound with the detachable speakers to go behind you just a real good all in one sound bar i think
Now if you don’t have the budget you are gonna lose a lot of that bass and that surround sound effect that the JBL has to offer, but you will still get a full rich sound from the polk. IF you are in a small to medium space it will work well, it’s really loud and you can hear that bass it’s not JBL shaking but it’s still good and will shine better in a small to medium space for sure and I think disappointment in a large space

Now when it comes to auto shut off I don't recall the Samsung doing that to me. but its rare that I leave the tv and stuff on without watching for that long also but I don't recall having to turn the speaker on every time.
Hm, not really a fan of the Samsung subwoofer size, and did think that the Signa 2 would be good for dialog boost for hard of hearing?
Our TV is in angled corner and the couch is about 10 - 12 feet away.

Its goin in my bedroom for late night/lazy weekend marathon type stuff > and so judging by the fact that you know about 'better systems', I think your probably right on point with the application that I need. When I make a true movie room Ill reach higher, no doubt. Lets see what happens... (PS I have a pair of 4k $ speakers from the 80's and they have no competition - Polk makes great products. @@WannaBuyIt Ok, got it this afternoon. My 55" is wall mounted, and so as far as installation goes ; the most time spent was getting the bar level and even under my TV. Thankfully Polk provides a template for just this purpose. If you have your TV sitting on a stand, good for you :D After running my cords nicely, and popping in the first episode of Game of Thrones ..... Nice Sound. Very Clear speech. Wow. Decent Bass for sure. This system is perfect for the price, Perfect for amping up the sound as opposed to the crappy speakers in your factory flatscreen. The difference CANT BE denied. A great purchase. If you want true 5.1 surround, spend more, but this little system is perfect for a typical bedroom situation. OK, Im out - about to watch Lord of the Rings. All 3 of them. Subscribed BTW

Compared to the Bose solo 5, which sound bar would you recommend to get?
with the Bose solo 5 you won't have the bass is the biggest down fault in this battle.
But if you just want a sound bar and if I was choosing just sound bars only no sub. I would pick the Bose solo 5 soundbar.
Polk is on sell going for $140 right now and you get a subwoofer with it also something to think about. I know bose solo 5 is $150.
If I was to choose I would pick the Bose solo 5 out of the two because my room is small and I don't need bass. If you want some nice bass I would choose this speaker ($147) amzn.to/2IZJ8Kc over Polk. I did a review on it as well. Hope I helped you out.

If you want some bass this for sure because the solo 5 doesn’t have any bass at all. Unless you get the sub woofer with it. Also on my channel I did another sound bar from Samsung and I like that one the most out of both 👍 give it a watch

Hey man just checked out this video and this sound bar was working good for me for 2 days and then today all of a sudden it just stopped working. I have it connected through hdmi arc on my Samsung tv. It was working perfectly fine now it doesn’t play any sound. Please help

That's pretty standard length for a soundbar. My 3.1ch Sony soundbar is 38.5". There are longer soundbars out there that are 46-49"

Why sold me on this unit is the price and the one button feature to turn down the bass (for the neighbors). My question is, is there a good place put the subwoofer so that you can feel the bass even if you lower the bass. I was thinking behind the couch.

@@WannaBuyIt I’ll try it. It seems that the review for the Samsung is saying that if your not a sub woofer person, like I am, then the sound quality isn’t that good as the Polk. But I will take your word for it.

For the money, the Polk Signa S2 is pretty good. I put the Sub next to my couch and I can feel the bass. (the couch vibrates) You need to experiment with locations to get the best sound.

I’m not sure if it’s connected or not.. maybe I’m. It hooking it up right, do I need to changed the tv settings
sometimes if you change your "HDMI Audio Format" on your TV to PCM helps with some soundbars. In your audio setting > expert setting > HDMI Audio Format > switch to PCM. (Samsung tv for me. the way to get to Audio Format might be different on your TV)
let me ask, can i purchase another subwoofer for this and have 2 subs, maybe use a better polk sub with it. because i just ordered it few minutes ago, and will get a more bass sub while i am waiting for it to come in.

I was hoping you'd show how to hook it up. I have been using the HDMI connection but it takes forever to start up. So today I tried connecting to my LG HDTV which is a high end 3 yr old, cost about $2,200. There are 3 optical inputs on the TV but it won't fit in any no how no way. Tried rotating it but nothing. It connects to the soundbar easy enough tho. Please help.
Did you make sure to take the rubber ball off the optical? Only asking because my wife’s brother didn’t one time and couldn’t figure out why it wouldn’t fit. But other than that idk why it won’t
I've been using the hdmi arc connection which sounds just as good as the optical setting (according to other reviews) so I'll keep using what works.
I just wish there wasn't so much of a delay with sound after I turned the TV on (a good 30 seconds of picture with no sound).

I'm having a hard time with the sound bar. It works really well for my cable but when I try and use an app like Netflix/PrimeVid/Hulu it just kind of spits static through the speakers.
that is so weird i haven't had that problem with speakers i have had before, so i'm gonna have to look it up for you. i will try my best to find something about that problem

i found this comment from another soundbar hope this will work "I had this exact problem. Only Netflix and Amazon were coming in with static when playing a video. All trailers and selection sounds were fine. I was using Amazon Firestick with AV cables which didn't really work with Dobly Digital Plus. Going into Amazon Fire settings for Audio and was able to turn off Dolby Digital Plus. This stopped the issue"
Hey appreciate it bro. After some tweaking I had to mess with the TV settings. The sound bar sounds excellent for the price. The next issue I'm running into is a slight delay in the picture and the sound coming out of the speaker. I put on a basketball game to double check and there's like a half second delay when the ball is dribbled and you hear the sound. That's where I'm at now.
this is the best thing i could find om this "When the Audio is behind the video please check your TV settings does not have any audio delay applied to the external audio outputs. Reduce the delay or even set to "0" (no delay). If your video is behind your audio try disabling any video processing in your TV's VIDEO menu. Your TVs user manual should explain how to make these settings."

If I Attached soundbar with HDMI (ARC) when ever I turned tv on, Need sound bar remote use for turn on soundbar ?
With hdmi arc it should control the soundbar turn it off and adjust the volume wit the tv remote

Yes I put it on the best bass I could for the video.
So how is it for dialogue? Having real problems hearing dialogue on these fancy TVs these days.

Is it possible to add an additional subwoofer wirelessly?

Yes! I have two SVS SB3000 subs, you can hook them up wirelessly, there are more than a few kits out there. Emotiva, SVS Dayton Audio, they all sell them, and they do work. I only have one of those units and two subs, so I went with the cables. I used a simple 3.5mm male to a dual RCA out female cable. The 3.5mm end plugs into the headphone jack on the back of my 2017 Sony Bravia E800 TV. Then I plugged in the RCA cables to run to the subs. At the subs, I used these, from Amazon, around $50, the "FMOD Crossover Pair 50 Hz Low Pass" filters. These plug into the other end of the RCA cable to the sub, and then the crossover plugs into the sub RCA input. You need these crossovers so that the high frequencies from the TV are not sent to the sub. Without these crossovers, the subs will be speakers, not the sound you want. I tried using the crossover in the sub, no go, I needed these crossovers, they work. I would use these with the wireless setup too if you go that route.

Im having a problem with my soundbar and i love it but when i got it, it was working perfectly fine with the sources and all but then 2 days later it just stayed on optical and i cant switch it and now i cant turn it off, i looked for everything but idk

Is the rumbling in the movies perceivable?
from the other budget speakers on my channel this had the less rumble. the samsung soundbar i reviewed has the most (room shaking) bass
I got Yamaha YAS209 and it has great rumble too.

@@WannaBuyIt Yamaha 209 is great, listening to music is soul soothing. With Alexa and smart things app I automated a lot of TV functionality too. I went around listening to jbl, sony etc in showrooms, none of them has the same impact.
