Sydney born myself (1957- 2013) in 2002 I decided to explore the high country in a std GQ 4.2 D N/A. No idea what to expect, ended up with a 3 month trip alone. Had many bogged issues but thats all part of the learning curve I recon. The trip was mind blowing watching a huge eagle swoop down 8 meters from my camp site while sitting in my camp chair and grab a bunny playing near the river ( my 1st night of my trip) I knew then it was going to be very special. I actually felt the wings flapping as it came in for the kill it was that big. So after the trip, back home I knew I had to move down there to live, and I eventually sold everything and did just that in 2013. Houses were sooo cheap I grabbed a beauty for almost nothing. Retired early and spend all my free time in the VHC. My GQ (2nd one) is perfectly set up for solo travelling and she just feels happy when she is out there.
Great episode Liv! Some of my favourite place for sure, you and the crew will have to come back when the gates are open and experience the full high country ! 👌👌
Thanks mate! It is a beautiful part of the country that's for sure! Im actually heading back down there later on this year to explore m ore of it and I cant wait!
Amazing episode Liv! Definitely adding these to the bucket list of places to visit soon. Love the awning with the LEDs on the frame, plus the new induction setup looks mint! I think any sort of alpine camping in the vic high country in winter is just a ripper of a time👍 Will say though, night 4WD runs are definitely on another level haha personally prefer seeing everything from all angles in the day! Can’t wait for the next episode🤙 Cheers🍻
Thanks os much mate! It was a trip to remember! The vic high country is beyond beautiful! ahaha the night runs were definitely out of my comfort zone haha but thank god Az and Harry where there to guide me through it! Cheers mate! Really appreciate all the ongoing support!
Haha Thanks legend! I love making and sharing these videos with all of you! Nothing wrong with that mate! Great things take time as they say ahah Up the mighty Dmax! haha cheers!
Hi Guys..... Looks like fun trip! I'm envious.. :-) We live in Mackay, and, as we were walking, passed a couple (walking their dog) out on the Harbour Breakwater Wall yesterday afternoon, Monday 27th. Either it was you guys, or you have a couple of twins out there. Are you up this way presently? 🙂🙂
Thanks mate! No GVM upgrade done just yet, when building this car we were very conscious about mods we went with so we could keep the weight as low as possible l. But currently the suspension set up is a 3” fox kit in the front with a munji diff drop and UCA And in the rear we have changed to HD 750kg rates parabolics from terrain tamer with fox remote res shocks😊
@@THISISLIVN oh that’s heaps good. Been a fan of your content as well as Betty ofc for a while now! I know she is sitting on 305s but I have always wondered what your specs were. Just to trouble you one more time, do you know how far off are you from the factory GVM? Awesome stuff as always, keep it pumping! Now that I also see you on 4WD24/7 now! 👀
