Its a crime that Kurt Angle vs The Undertaker at No Way Out doesn't get the praise it deserves. I was easily one of the top ten or in my personal opinion top five matches of Undertaker's career
Shawn Michaels is know as Mr. Wrestlemania, Bret Hart is referred to by many as Mr. Summerslam. I think it would be fair to call Kurt Angle Mr. No Way Out. 2000: Defeated Chris Jericho to become Intercontinental champion. 2001: Headlined with The Rock in WWF championship match. 2002: Defeated Triple H in co-main event to determine #1 contender for the WWE championship. 2003: Team Angle vs Chris Benoit and Brock Lesnar. 2004: Defeated John Cena and Big Show to determine #1 contender for the WWE Championship. 2005: Co-main event bout with John Cena to determine #1 contender for the WWE Championship. 2006: Defeated the Undertaker to retain World Heavyweight Championship.
@@AIWFNW no one says that. You’re right. But from 1990-1994 Bret stole the show 5 straight years. And his match with taker in 97 was also a slobberknocker
My favorite podcast going right now, such a legend of the business and there are no doubt endless amounts of stories he has to tell and I can't wait to hear them all. 👍
*WWE's history with MSG goes back to the 1920s with Vince's Grandfather Jess McMahon & Toots Mondt...And even the 1st ever Worlds Heavyweight Champion, George Hackenschmidt was crowned & won the title at Madison Square Garden in 1905. Lots of history!*
@@lukasskywalker6514 Yea I hope they discuss the royal rumble 2003 match at some point and also the no mercy 2002 tag match with him and Benoit vs Edge and Mysterio.
@@NotoriousCurtis I believe they will Kurts allowed to talk about it, it’s his career, they won’t be able to do a “watch along though” not on the network at least.
@@lukasskywalker6514 Well obviously they will never discuss his matches with Benoit on the network but I'm saying on here with Conrad. @@NotoriousCurtis yeah I didn’t say the network I realize they won’t do anything with Benoit on the network however I know they love to promote the network and watch a lot of material on the WWE network when they do a “watch along”
So what does that make, 4 times Kurt broke his neck wrestling? 🥇 Olympics in 96 Against Brock in 2003 Eddie Guerrero at Wrestlemania in 2004 & against HBK in 2006. HOLY SHIT!!!
The match at Fully Loaded 2000 and then No Way Out 2006 aren't even really comparable. Fully Loaded was a glorified squash, No Way Out was two greats at their peak.
Funny thing is Taker actually had tapped to Kurt before, back in 2002, when they ran the non finish on Smackdown before the 3 way with Rock at Vengeane.
This was my favourite match of that era, I still tell people to watch this match now, the near finishes, it had it all. At the end of the match, Taker said I have your number and hinted at a rematch. Can you ask if that was ever the plan? I know soon after Kurt went to ECW and then left WWE. I felt Kurt was coming into his peak technically at this point and would of loved to see a run with the ECW belt. Fortunately I still followed him in TNA but was eager for him to return to WWE much earlier as I felt he had another run as champion and some great feuds. Seeing him at the moment, I think he should consider a run with AEW if that comes about, Vince clearly took the piss on the WWE return, call it some sort of punishment for the TNA run, however much Kurt might play that down and say Vince does what is best for business etc, I can see him having a bitter and twisted streak in him, that made the WWE retirement feel flat, as a fan that followed Kurt from the 90's I was left feeling pissed off.
They had a rematch on Smackdown shortly after at the MCI Center. I remember because I was there in attendance, Henry destroyed Taker and transitioned into that feud.
Dude... Angle is done. He doesn’t need to go degrade himself and his legacy by putting over a bunch of nobodies in aew. Given the things that company has done recently ,that would be an absolutely terrible idea.
Connie saying how Cliff wasn't Christian himself, yet, at the same time, selling a doc about him that was pretty much Christian dogma... She should be ashamed. Exploitation at its finest. The amount of shit she says that he was supposedly "against" while he was actually SUPPORTIVE of at the time is laughable. For starters, she says that Cliff actually HATED the Misfits because they were supposedly "Satanic" (and even says his Misfits tattoo was only because he liked the image of the skull), yet he introduced Metallica to the Misfits... Also, she says that he hated certain bands because they were "Satanic", yet he was close to members of bands such as Slayer... The ONLY reason he watched Billy Graham (IF that is even true, but I doubt it actually is) was for the same reasons why Hetfield did, which was to see just how ridiculous these people act, while at the same time telling people they could "get a better seat" in Heaven if they gave them enough money ("Leper Messiah", anyone??). I smell SO MUCH bullshit with her, seriously...
Kurt/ taker is definitely taker’s best overall wrestling match, this match was more TECHNICAL than the match he had with Shawn at mania. The mania match is great but a spotfest, THIS is a wrestling match.
