Una Mattina. A morning. The titular piece of the album, Ludovico describes it as not belonging to a time in the past, but speaking about him now, his life, the things around him. I hope your morning is made just a little bit better with this video :)
This scene when Phillipe looked back to Driss through the restaurants window completely choked up with emotion (accompanied by this beautiful piece of music) was such a special moment for me. Made me cry and think about how powerful friendship can be. Thanks for this!
My grandfather passed away two months ago. As I carried his coffin this song was played. It gave me emotions that I never felt before. He was my best friend, my reason for living. My hero forever. Thanks for everything.

Ludovico Einaudi calls himself a minimalist. It's so amazing, how much you can do with so less. And it's perfect for beginners, since it's pretty easy to play. I love this song and the movie it's in. ❤
I came back to playing piano after a 15 year break because of how emotionally alive this song makes me feel even out of context. Ludovico Einaudi is genius for producing music so close to interpret what empathy is in a whole different language
That C to G at about 1:55 has forever been ingrained in my head as one of the most pleasant sounds I've experienced, since the first time I heard this piece.
Not 100% correct imo, but close (I’m 67 and was a classicist pianist and organist since 5). Piano teachers/instructors are NOT the ones who are able to say that ‘music can do what words can’t’. This is something that a dedicated, determined, and most of all - a talented pianist is able to do! A teacher can help you learn how to read the notes from sheets of music, BUT they are not able to provide any single person with emotion needed in order to make the 🎹 speak❗️Just an ‘old’ school pianist’s point of view on your comment. But I will say that your initial remark is accurate in its simplicity!
I’m a big fan of ludovico’s work, I’m really glad you are playing his pieces which to me are tranquil. I also feel like he is slightly underrated and should be recognized more. Anyway thanks for playing one of my favorite pieces by him!

I know this is an old video, is this is probably one of the best covers of this song on TH-cam... But this video proves the point I've been saying for 2 decades about being able to play a song, and being able to write the song and play it. You played every single note correctly. You didn't miss a note, you didn't play an incorrect note. But it doesn't sound the same as when Ludovico plays it. You're both playing the exact same notes. But the feeling and expression is not the same. Taking nothing away from this. You play it better than I can. I'm just emphasising the point when i said Ludovico is one of the best pianists in the world because he came up with it in the first place, and plays it better than anyone else. It's the same with all of his songs. Anyone can learn to play the correct notes. Even i did! But the true talent is creating it, and then playing it differently to everyone else. Again, not hating on this piece. Its the best on TH-cam Apart from Ludovico himself.
This is a masterpiece!!! This music has no words but those who know how to listen with the ears of the soul will understand the message that is broadcast. And my soul has heard: whatever the darkness and duration of the night, dawn and dawn come to the rescue of those who are lost in the depths of darkness. This melody is melancholic but from melancholy come the notes of hope. Joy will come and chase away sadness as darkness is chased in the morning. Una Mattina
The great thing about this is how you almost never have to move the right hand and the left hand is simple. It's a great beginner song for those that have the fundamentals down
Alviti SKR I honestly hate that such an important song from my country, that our grandparents used to sing while fighting for freedom, became a disco song thanks to that stupid tv show

if you have children get them a keyboard, get them into playing piano. i am so greatful that i can sit on the piano and play these pieces that i learned when i was younger (around 10-14) when i still had time everyday and school wasn't taking up so much time (i am 16 now) i started when i was 6, it will be 11 years soon, this was one of the first pieces i played from beginning to start that wasn't something classic
For anyone actually learning this song some advice for beginners. I wanted to learn this song myself and I learned the first 50 seconds of this piece fairly quickly. @0:51 is when I hit a road block. My brain couldn’t wrap itself around playing the left and right the way it’s off sync. It’s very awkward. So focusing purely on the left hand first and grinding down the tempo was challenging but after repetition you pick it up. This was the best way to later layer in the right hand. The beginning of the song is easy to play with both hands at the same time. Doesn’t work with the main swell of the song. Knock out the left hand then move on! The sheet music helped with that section as well to visualize the keys.
It sounds so beautiful and it makes me want to start to learn how to play the piano. I love the emotion conveyed by this piece. Once I learn how to play, I want to be able to play this
Don't mind this comment, it's just how I feel: This is so good, that it's a true insult to say that it is only a song. This, brings back memories, memories I have forgotten about. The harmony and the choir in every single note, is a whole entire universe. The amount of sorrow and tears of happiness combined in this masterpiece is unexplainable. I feel like I am high above the clouds, somewhere no one can touch me, bring me down, criticize me or hurt me.
