Fontaine's archon quest, for me, was absolute cinema. So many unexpected twists and turns, and the trailers for it were done so well that you had no idea what was actually going on. Just magnificent work throughout on all levels. Also regarding the updates: Every version is six weeks. Every 3 weeks, we get two new limited character banners. 5.2 is going to be released in roughly 3 weeks.
Nah Fontaine was not magnificent throughout, Act 3 and 4 were boring as hell, it just breaks the flow that was built by Act 1 and 2. Act 5 was peak of Genshin but if I count all the acts together and compare, Sumeru might be slightly higher than Fontaine.

If you’re planning on redoing the archon quests for Mondstadt, Liyue and Inazuma, then I’d HIGHLY recommend not to skim over the details because these three nations introduce some lore bits that will become integral to understanding the story later, trust!! In case you were wondering, Mondstadt is the Nation of Anemo (wind) Liyue is the Nation of Geo (earth) Inazuma is the Nation of Electro (electricity) Sumeru is the Nation of Dendro (plants) Fontaine is the Nation of Hydro (water) Natlan is the Nation of Pyro (fire), and Snezhnaya is the Nation of Cryo (ice) Also, just to clarify, Sumeru takes a lot of real-world inspiration from South-Asiaand the Middle East! The cultures are especially apparent through the music, so if you really enjoyed the music, I recommend sitting down later down your journey and listening to the free online concerts Genshin Impact releases on their main TH-cam channel! It gives us an in-depth and behind the scenes experience of how much effort and hard work goes into the music of this game, along with some AWESOME renditions of existing music in the game! However, some concerts do contain some story spoilers, so I do recommend checking in regularly with the comments to know when you’re far enough in the story to go ahead and watch the concert videos, if you do plan on watching them! Anyways, loved this reaction video as well, can’t wait to see you play through the stories, especially Sumeru and Fontaine. Natlan is still in its early stages and it’s hard to rank, but it’s been GREAT so far! Excited for when you start the game!

It's crazy watching these trailers again like where did time go it feels like just yesterday lol Many of these big events were fun and full of character exposition I wish I could experience them again 🥺 Klee's mom is named Alice btw but we haven't actually met her yet! She actually voices Wanderer's Collected Miscellany. I cant help but giggle at your reactions knowing what happens Sumeru & Fontaine were definitely amazing and Natlan looks promising! About your Meta Question: Yes, there is actually a Meta that most people seem to follow with currently the 3 strongest Main DPS Characters being Neuvillette, Arlecchino and Alhaitham. (Unless I missed something with the release of Mualani and Kinich). Every Character can be played and with enough time investment into them, they can clear the current Endgame Content aswell. (Abyss & Theater)
I think Alhaitham was dethroned, after Neuvillette and Arlecchino the strongest DPS at the moment are Mualani, Kinich, Navia in an average rotation a Mualani and a Kinich can do more than 500k damage and Navia with Full stacks can also reach that with 2 shots + Clorinde surpasses Alhaitham's DPR
Btw, if you want to kniw their gameplay and skills, you should watch the Collected Miscellany of everyone. Start with characters you like the most or curious on how they play cuz its 5 mins long each.

As it may be obvious, it would be extremely difficult to control such a large region under one ruler/government. It depends. Some events/content you can use whatever, but certain comps might be easier due to bonuses to certain damage types/reactions/enemy composition. Others have restrictions on using specific characters or only allow certain types of characters. Just using the two End-Game modes as an Example. Spiral Abyss you can in theory use whatever you want as long as it can finish content, though getting full rewards for doing so may be more difficult if you aren't playing around the design of the encounters. Imaginarium Theater requires a ton of characters to use and only certain elements are allowed (there's 6 characters you have to use but are provided trial version in case you don't have them or they don't meet the level/build requirements for the mode) (except for a handful of special guest characters which ignore that limitation but you actually need the special characters to be able to use them). However your roster, aside for the first 6, is randomized and you can only use a character twice for the whole mode, unless you get an event card that restores their usage, so you have to strategize your character usage to make sure you have teams strong enough to finish the boss encounters of each stage, while balancing getting character/event cards vs buff cards. Events are similar. But will usually provide a few trial characters if they expect you to use certain characters for the event fights (though this is sometimes optional).

Strongest playable characters damage-wise right now would probably be 1. Neuvillette, 2. Arlecchino and 3. Alhaitham. If any of the new characters have threatened Alhaitham’s place in that hierarchy, the community has not reached a consensus on that yet at least and it’s too early to tell.

Most new players or reactors don't really go back on them as they prefer to just watch them in one sitting. I like your style of figuring out what's going on! The trailers do contain some parts of the story, but nothing will beat actually playing through it with the context and stuff, so honestly, just feel free to talk about the trailers a lot! It's fun doing your own crafting of the story haha. Sumeru's also my favorite region and its story and characters just hit different from the other regions! Welcome to the Nahida protection squad as well! Edit 1: All characters are usable in the game (of course if you have them)! The elemental gameplay makes it so that there's so many attack team combos to use! There ARE meta characters but that's mostly for the endgame content (think HSR's Forgotten Hall and that kind of content).

i'm glad you're enjoying the first trailer to sumeru. back then this trailer was generating a looooot of hype. i think i said it in a comment before that most people i know irl that played genshin from day 1 stopped after inazuma for myriad of reasons. maybe it's the mobs, stupidly annoying challenges or oculi. but those people made a come back when this trailer dropped. Sumeru is still my favorite region in terms of music and lore (world quests). it's also the last region Yu Peng Chen direct and compose majority of Genshin music. which is why Fontaine's music wasn't as "memorable" for me. it's still good music but it's a bit "generic". Hoyo-Mix does make a come back with Natlan. I can't wait to listen more from the new composers bcs even as of now Natlan has a lot of bangers already. I cannot wait until you discover Port Ormos in Sumeru. it's still the only place in all of Teyvat that made me stopped dead on my tracks and just stand there until the music loop. a lot of people and content creators reacted the same way. it's just so so good. nothing in HSR made me reacted that way.
Fontaine is great bcs of the Archon Quest, Hoyo writing team basically perfected their craft in this region. in terms lore (world quest) there is something big happening there too but personally for me it's too complicated to digest. regarding the dragons. i assume you won't dig too deep about Genshin lore and do all the world quests so i'll give you a general info about them: Teyvat was once a world ruled by dragons. it has Seven Sovereigns elemental dragons of which then defeated by someone called "Primordial One". this primordial one didn't defeat the dragons alone, they created Four Shining Shades for this "war". after that Primordial One and the Shining Shades regain control of all Teyvat, stole the power from Seven Sovereigns which then turned into Seven Divine Thrones. they chose seven Gods from Teyvat (after an event called Archon War) to place upon those thrones and called these "new rulers" as "Archons". These Archons also gifted an item called Gnosis. Gnosis looks like a chess piece in the game. it's a power-up item for these Gods.
I highly doubt natlan will be in any other language until 5.4 or something. These quest are pre recorded... WELL in advance. It's just the trailers being affected. 5.1 was fully voiced in en even though kinich trailer was in jp. There's an example with cyno's va doing another job in star rail as jingyuan who was basically voicing them both at the same time even though cyno was months earlier than jingyuan, or tighnari's old va
I think you misunderstanding something, those events from trailers are gone. only windblume, lantern rite are cyclical. other sometimes come back in slightly different form. You can swin and dive in Fontaine, and ONLY in Fontaine, which is why I like that place more than the rest. Ps. I think the best way to react to these types of videos, are to watch them to the end, so you can give your real reaction, and then go back to the beginning and watch it again, where you can pick it apart. If you’re planning on redoing the archon quests for Mondstadt, Liyue and Inazuma, then I’d HIGHLY recommend not to skim over the details because these three nations introduce some lore bits that will become integral to understanding the story later, trust!!

Also, just to clarify, Sumeru takes a lot of real-world inspiration from South-Asiaand the Middle East! The cultures are especially apparent through the music, so if you really enjoyed the music, I recommend sitting down later down your journey and listening to the free online concerts Genshin Impact releases on their main TH-cam channel! It gives us an in-depth and behind the scenes experience of how much effort and hard work goes into the music of this game, along with some AWESOME renditions of existing music in the game! However, some concerts do contain some story spoilers, so I do recommend checking in regularly with the comments to know when you’re far enough in the story to go ahead and watch the concert videos, if you do plan on watching them!

About your Meta Question: Yes, there is actually a Meta that most people seem to follow with currently the 3 strongest Main DPS Characters being Neuvillette, Arlecchino and Alhaitham. (Unless I missed something with the release of Mualani and Kinich).
Every Character can be played and with enough time investment into them, they can clear the current Endgame Content aswell. (Abyss & Theater)
I think Alhaitham was dethroned, after Neuvillette and Arlecchino the strongest DPS at the moment are Mualani, Kinich, Navia
in an average rotation a Mualani and a Kinich can do more than 500k damage and Navia with Full stacks can also reach that with 2 shots

It depends.
Some events/content you can use whatever, but certain comps might be easier due to bonuses to certain damage types/reactions/enemy composition.
Others have restrictions on using specific characters or only allow certain types of characters.
Just using the two End-Game modes as an Example.
Spiral Abyss you can in theory use whatever you want as long as it can finish content, though getting full rewards for doing so may be more difficult if you aren't playing around the design of the encounters.
Imaginarium Theater requires a ton of characters to use and only certain elements are allowed (there's 6 characters you have to use but are provided trial version in case you don't have them or they don't meet the level/build requirements for the mode) (except for a handful of special guest characters which ignore that limitation but you actually need the special characters to be able to use them). However your roster, aside for the first 6, is randomized and you can only use a character twice for the whole mode, unless you get an event card that restores their usage, so you have to strategize your character usage to make sure you have teams strong enough to finish the boss encounters of each stage, while balancing getting character/event cards vs buff cards.
Events are similar. But will usually provide a few trial characters if they expect you to use certain characters for the event fights (though this is sometimes optional).

You definitely saw Collei's demo. The only characters without demos are ones that were already in the game before it released. Characters like Jean, Diluc, Ningguang, Beidou, etc. Basically the earliest Mondstadt and Liyue characters.

AAAh even though I have listened to the full Inazuma OST more than I can count, Sumeru music is simply heartwarming. Wether it's because the Arab tones speak to my soul, or that the soothing Indian instruments lull me to sleep, Sumeru really is precious to me, not to mention the amazing story arc, the INSANE Scara boss battle OST that lives rent free in my brain, AND THE REGION HELLO?? Strongest playable characters damage-wise right now would probably be 1. Neuvillette, 2. Arlecchino and 3. Alhaitham. If any of the new characters have threatened Alhaitham’s place in that hierarchy, the community has not reached a consensus on that yet at least and it’s too early to tell.

All characters are usable in the game (of course if you have them)! The elemental gameplay makes it so that there's so many attack team combos to use! There ARE meta characters but that's mostly for the endgame content (think HSR's Forgotten Hall and that kind of content).
I appreciate avoiding the spoiler. And I'm happy that so many of you enjoy watching me pause and go back to analyze. I enjoy sitting through and just watching as well, but once I'm intrigued I start rewatching.

Fontaine is pure gold.
i'm glad you're enjoying the first trailer to sumeru. back then this trailer was generating a looooot of hype. i think i said it in a comment before that most people i know irl that played genshin from day 1 stopped after inazuma for myriad of reasons. maybe it's the mobs, stupidly annoying challenges or oculi. but those people made a come back when this trailer dropped.
Sumeru is still my favorite region in terms of music and lore (world quests). it's also the last region Yu Peng Chen direct and compose majority of Genshin music. which is why Fontaine's music wasn't as "memorable" for me. it's still good music but it's a bit "generic". Hoyo-Mix does make a come back with Natlan. I can't wait to listen more from the new composers bcs even as of now Natlan has a lot of bangers already.
I cannot wait until you discover Port Ormos in Sumeru. it's still the only place in all of Teyvat that made me stopped dead on my tracks and just stand there until the music loop. a lot of people and content creators reacted the same way. it's just so so good. nothing in HSR made me reacted that way.
Fontaine is great bcs of the Archon Quest, Hoyo writing team basically perfected their craft in this region. in terms lore (world quest) there is something big happening there too but personally for me it's too complicated to digest.
regarding the dragons. i assume you won't dig too deep about Genshin lore and do all the world quests so i'll give you a general info about them:
Teyvat was once a world ruled by dragons. it has Seven Sovereigns elemental dragons of which then defeated by someone called "Primordial One". this primordial one didn't defeat the dragons alone, they created Four Shining Shades for this "war". after that Primordial One and the Shining Shades regain control of all Teyvat, stole the power from Seven Sovereigns which then turned into Seven Divine Thrones. they chose seven Gods from Teyvat (after an event called Archon War) to place upon those thrones and called these "new rulers" as "Archons". These Archons also gifted an item called Gnosis. Gnosis looks like a chess piece in the game. it's a power-up item for these Gods.
I can't wait to hear these bangers! Idk if Sumeru or Fontaine is gonna be my favorite region, but its gonna be fun to find out.

@@alexgainsborough4921 it has everything to do with it because you criticized the dude for calling a saurian a dragon, which it, in fact, is. Also, I doubt all of them are inspired by deep-sea life. Neuvillette probably is as a god of the sea, but Apep resembles a normal serpent (reptile), Azdaha definetly doesn't look deep sea, Xiuhcoatl, the likely Pyro Sovereign, resembles.. maybe a crocodile or something in his murals, and his name is inspired by a serpent. Either way, definetly not deep sea, and Dvalin is a pretty normal depiction of a dragon but with more wings.
