Loving re-living this show with you! If you go back to that scene where Ted yells at Jamie in the locker room - the "It's PRACTICE" scene - you can literally see Jamie dissociate. I didn't pick up on it first viewing - because I didn't know his backstory. Seeing the abuse from his dad - like actually seeing it, not just hearing about it - put together that piece of the puzzle. Ted was yelling at him and he was *terrified*. I love Jamie.
7:09 That was apparently a very real bump on the head; Hannah (Rebecca) was really surprised and concerned, and Jason (Ted) was really trying to assure everyone behind the camera that he was okay 😂
I'm now 53. I have watched A LOT of television since I was 6. That's 47 years where I have watched the best that UK and US television has had to offer. I've seen classics made before i was born, I've watched dramas that have has worldwide acclaim, I have seen shows so well know that phrases from them have entered into common usage on both continents. This show has jumped into my top five TV shows of all time. It is a pleasure to rewatch this show with you on your reaction channel.
Outside of the US, soccer has relegation, if you finish in the bottom x, you’re sent down to a lower division, while the top x, is lifted to the top league. Makes it more competitive. In the Championship, the league Richmond will be in next season, teams that finish 1 and 2 are automatically promoted, while 3-6 are in a playoff for the final spot.
I actually really like this and think this should be a worldwide thing!! it makes them try harder I feel like 🤣 there's actually something to work for!
One mark of how good this show is IMO is that (as they basically make explicit with Keeley and Rebecca's conversation) people who previously couldn't care less about football are still fully invested in the matches because they care about the characters. The power of good storytelling :). (and yep, how it works at least in the top two English leagues is, the bottom three teams are relegated to the league below and the top two teams from that league are automatically promoted then there're playoff games for the third promotion spot - relegation can be a disaster for a club because there's a lot less money from e.g. broadcast TV rights in lower leagues)
The actor who plays Jamie, Phil Dunster, is apparently really lovely irl. Someone who worked on the show said he was the nicest person on set, and fans who have met him always have really nice things to say as well 😊
We all knew Roy Kent was pretty much finished as a player going into this game - it's been hinted at since the very first episode - but I love that Ted gave him the opportunity to go out in a blaze of glory like that. Whatever Ted's flaws as a coach may be, he can tell so often exactly what his players need and I adore that about him.
Great fun watching you experience this show. You *get* it. And there's a great deal of great stuff still to come in the next two seasons, so enjoy the ride.
Jamie's dad is a real POS. Easily the character I like the least in the series. The look on Ted's face when Jamie is being abused by his father is incredible. The note and army man finally got through to Jamie that Ted's feelings toward him are genuine, not mind games, and even if his dad isn't proud of him, Ted is.
for sure, him and Rupert seem to actually just suck so terribly bad! I loved the note and the army man- and the whole idea that he's giving him to him for protection, ugh, so touching 🩶
Season 1 in the books! Ive enjoyed your reaction along the way! A lot of other reactors get caught up in the game tying goal and forget it isn't over yet, you caught it just in the nick of time! Maybe you might have been able to save the game 😉
Well, you already seen all 3 seasons, but yes, there is no thing preventing a player from joining any club at any level. EXCEPT for money. Clubs can go broke being relegated, because each lower division pays a lot less. And often you have contracts with players that cost a lot, and when you go to a lower division, you have difficulty with those contracts. In the same way, Jamie beloning to Manchester City, being loaned to this small club, then going back to Manchester City AND becoming a team starter is quite... unrealistic. Manchester City is one of the richest clubs in the world after it was bought by arab sheiks years ago. They have argably the best coach on the planet, Pep Guardiola, and their team is full of stars from around the planet... germans, croatians, brazilians, portuguese, belgians, argentines, spaniards... and Haaland, from Norway.
one thing the series has difficulty to capture is the atmosphere of big football matches th-cam.com/video/OwTYNEd2f40/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/JhkRgJmmOhA/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/WjYI1AFKp98/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/EEFf5H4wuRc/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/2RuMgKUmzf8/w-d-xo.html

this is such a great point! I'll totally have to go back and check it out now knowing what I know about that relationship! 🩶
Almost every character goes through growth. There are treasures in each season. I wouldn’t want to spoil anything for you.
I'm loving seeing all of the characters going through so much growth! it's so fun to see! 🩶
7:09 That was apparently a very real bump on the head; Hannah (Rebecca) was really surprised and concerned, and Jason (Ted) was really trying to assure everyone behind the camera that he was okay 😂
Actually he had to get stitches! Ouch
oh my! I would never guess that that wasn't planned with how well he played it off! yikes! 🩶

wow!! I can't wait to see the rest of this show and get to experience the full thing, it's so incredible already! 🩶

yes exactly! this show makes it so welcoming for people who aren't originally a fan of the game and I adore that!! 🩶 thank you for this fact!! 🩶
The actor who plays Jamie, Phil Dunster, is apparently really lovely irl. Someone who worked on the show said he was the nicest person on set, and fans who have met him always have really nice things to say as well 😊
oh that is so so lovely to hear!! he does such a great job of playing someone so cocky but I love that he is so kind!! 🩶
This show to the very end is full of call backs, and it's done brilliantly.
I'm already loving all of the call backs! everything is done and said for a reason and that's one of my favorite things! 🩶

I was shook that roy was pretty much done lmao but he really did go out like such a bad ass! 🩶
As crazy as it seems, even though this episode was a 'finale' almost 90% of it was actually setup for the next two fantastic seasons.
Definitely 👍
oooh I cannot wait!! 🩶
The Ted Lasso actor was actually hospitalized from hitting his head on the door frame. And still stayed in character
that's actually insane 🤣
First season begins and ends on a close up of Rebecca.
There's a saying in sports - "A tie is like kissing your sister."
*American sports
The life lesson being you sometimes need to move backwards to move forward
I love this!
Great fun watching you experience this show. You *get* it. And there's a great deal of great stuff still to come in the next two seasons, so enjoy the ride.
this is so kind! thank you so much for watching along with me! 🩶
pretty much a perfect freshman season! ♥
I couldn't agree more!
I love your reactions! And knowing what you have next to experience is going to be great.
ahh thank you so much for watching along with me! 🩶
Can’t wait till we start season 2. Love this show
A Pixar end to the season! I love the Lasso Special. 😂 the soldier was holding binoculars showing Jamie that Ted sees him.
the lasso special was so ICONIC 🩶I knew it was going to be good, but I wasn't expecting to be THAT good 🤣
Higgins’ wife in the show is his wife in real life.

totally!! I was thrilled that it happened but I was like..... I don't think it's over yet, why are we acting like it's over 🤣
I believe July 30 is the release date for the series on Blu-Ray.☺
"Kiss their sister": Good news - kissed a girl. Bad news - doesn't count because..
I think it's more that a draw is considered unnatural just like kissing your sister. It's not a phrase I've heard before.

Please react to house of the dragon and the boys
I've never seen Game of Thrones so I'm not sure if House of the Dragon is something I could watch! 🩶
@@ryannrodkey5669 there's no need to see GOT , HOTD is a prequel no worries
