Do you have any videos that discuss how to determine the pipe layout for a French drain system for a given yard?

Your pop-off discharge at the back of the lawn serves as the final discharge point? And where does it flow to? to the other property's lawn?

Love your videos. So informative. I have a few questions and sorry if they're stupid... I'm still learning... 1) Does the High Octane pipe have to run downward everywhere in the yard? I have some areas that slope downward and other areas that do not not. I just want to make sure the water gets to the end of the pipe away from the yard. 2) Do you start with a Drain Basin to connect the High Octane Pipe? 3) Do you put a popup emitter at the end of the pipe line? Thanks for advice!

For best results have 1% Slope on the entire trench run. The bottom of the trench should be at 1% Slope. 1" of drop for every 100" is easy to do with a line level. If you are to deep to daylight the drain you use a pump system to lift the water up to the surface of the ground at the end of the trench.

if your just extend the downspout, running pipe with no slots, do you still recommend using stone and wrapping it? or can you just fill it with the dirt you pulled out?

Can this technique be used in Texas? Believe it or not we have had so much rain it’s like a pond in my backyard.

Does the depth of the drain need to be lower than the frost line? Where I am in the north the depth is about 36 inches.

I’ve been wondering the same thing. I think I heard him say that he’s 16” deep. But why wouldn’t the drain heave in the winter? Maybe because it’s not one solid object? I assume it can flex and give as the ground freezes and pushes against it. Probably allows it to settle back to it’s original position as it thaws. Idk.

I have a question, a company recently did a french drain for me but they didnt use perforated drain pipe, they used solid on the side of my house where heavy rain floods that side. Ive heard from some people that solid was ok but shouldn't have they used perforated?

    • @FRENCHDRAINMAN

      You got screwed

    • @VTGoPro
      @VTGoPro 2 ปีที่แล้ว

To an unsuspecting home-owner, a perforated pipe may appear to be a solid pipe if you saw it laying in the trench. Most often solid pipes will have holes in the bottom of them that you may not have seen when properly installed... Is it working well though? That's the important question.

  • @frankjluna

What and how do you plug the end of the pipe at the staring point of french drain? Underneath the trampoline and right next to it, can't really see in video.

also, are those emitters at the end of those short runs? I see something but not sure what they are since they are at the end of soil. he does not talk much about that.

There are caps he shows in other videos that go on the end (or start) of the run. I can’t remember what video I saw it. Can probably buy them through his site or Baughman tile.

I can’t believe how little you charge. I’m in a neighboring state and that would cost me $10k at least and that’s for nds and a crappy system. Damn I wish you were closer.

It's to heavy and sinks, it's to ridged and cracks, it can't move up and down in the frost.........the list is long

I could have it done in two days and that's a liberal estimate. The customers I deal with don't care about turn around time.

Mini ex, mini skid, plywood road, delivering stone, hauling away soil. This doesn't take long with the right tools. That's why there's so many scammers doing drainage jobs for cheap. It's dummy work but overlooked and misunderstood so people get shafted by shady contractors all the time. When you start removing tons of dirt you have to charge a lot. I'm surprised with the size of this trench and coring into the storm drain that he didn't charge more. He must be booked for the foreseeable future and get down payments ahead of time.
