The CGI on the reveal shot still looks insanely good! Better than big budget films in 2021
It really doesn’t. It’s really good for 97 but TV shows have better VFX than this.
@@antoniobrooks1113 That specific shot is ridiculously good though (especially for 97). And the one of the anaconda up the ladder when it's bit onto Jon Voight.
Unfortunately it's inconsistent throughout the film but those 2 shots in particular hold up extremely well

I love this film. I think what sets it apart from other giant snake films is the combination of animatronics and cgi, as opposed to pure cgi used by other films.

(One) problem with the sequels was the bad CGI
Im not super sure about that, I work a lot with anacondas. the eyes are not correct, the look too human and too far forward on the face. And the colors are movie magic, there’s only two types of anacondas, the green and yellow kind, and this one looks nothing like either, maybe if it was really old and about to shed it could but it would be a stretch. The snakes we see in one scene are real anacondas.

Yeah this is such an old movie an very incorrect with the Anaconda genesis. I’ve been working snakes my entire life and to be fair The Reticulated Python is the most intelligent and strongest out of any constrictor in the world
Winston always made solid animatronics, and the cgi is decent for 1997. I think the only problem is the vast difference in movement between the two… in cgi the snake is a hyper-speed parkour ninja, but in practical it’s a slow lumbering creature.

Anaconda in real life is so lethargic it was barely move when out of water
If you watched anaconda hunt for the blood orchid. The snakes were eating this flower that made them live longer, be more aggressive, faster, smarter. It pretty much enhanced there ability to become killing machines
sach point watch blood orchid, in real life it wouldn’t happen like that but imagine a damn anaconda living for a extra 22 years. He would grow double the size he already is.. we would look like cattle’s compared to the beast
That’s why in this film you look like why are the snakes so big, the flower made them live a extra 22 or 30 years to become so big that a pig is a snack to them
