What about Gone with the wind & The Wizard of Oz? Casablanca? The list goes on. To be fair, this one isn't very good. The acting is terrible. But the use of animals is great.
I bought the "digitally restored version" of this on dvd years ago and when I watched it was so dark it was almost unwatchable. I am amazed to see such a great version of this movie uploaded on youtube.

I agree! This was and still is my favorite childhood movie. This is such a wonderful treasure. Sabu was my first celebrity crush. And who doesn't love the stories by Rudyard Kipling!?! This has been so much fun reliving this magnificent old movie. I think I must have revealed my age. 🙃❤
Sabu was an amazing actor. He was found I think in Malasia and was working with elephants. They needed a kid actor for "Elephant Boy" a 1938 black and white film. The movie going world fell in love with this amazing boy. He was in "Gunga Din", "Thief of Baghdad" made around the same time as "Jungle Book", and that film is noted for it's amazing non CGI model work. Check that film out as it is just stunning, considering when it was made. This is a beautiful print. We have a VHS, but it is dark & hard to watch. The colors pop in this one. Thanks for posting.

All the beauty of nature is around us, there should not be fights. The world is not only ours but all living species, the little cubs, the mankind, animals.. This film is beauiful, it is not only a fairytale, but sg to learn from until it is too late.
when i was a young kid. the movies of alexander korda were shown at midnight, my father allowed me to stay up late after i had put my younger sister to bed and got her off to sleep, afterwards he would call me down stairs to watch these movies. good times, good movies. the eliphant was naga khan.

My Grandpa who is 87 God give him a long life, told me about this movie today...He watched it when he was a kid like when he was 7 he said.
As a kid my grandfather and I would watch this. Now years since his passing, it gives comfort watching it and remembering the good times .

My Grandma bought me the VHS for me when I was a kid in the 80s as I loved the Disney version. It looks much better here than the VHS.
I think it’s a Mandela Effect- I’ve been seeing tons of black and white movies that are now in luscious color.
