    We were handed the keys to a 2022 Yamaha Tenere 700 adventure touring motorcycle for a couple of months, kitted out with Yamaha accessory engine guards, skid plate, luggage rack and a pair of awesome hard bags. We had to road trip it, even if we only had a few days to spare.
    Senior Editor Rob Brooks throttled up into the mountains of north Georgia for a few days, to get a feel for what it's like to live off the Tenere 700 out on the road.
    What were his impressions of this mid-size adventure motorcycle?
    Could this be the elemental ADV bike you've been looking for?
    Give this a view and let us know what you think!

    Glorious machine. people throw the term "reliable" around alot... but the Yamaha Tenere is truly a beast. mine has 20k, no oil problems, valve clearance perfect. runs like the day i got her. could not be happier with it.

    I set mine up as a sport tourer/commuter: Corbin seat, Heli-bars risers, extra pegs to stretch my legs now and again, heated grips, Tusk bags, small tail bag, taller wind screen, bigger flared side pieces. It's fantastic. I've had GSXRs, GS', DRZ, R1, HD, Hondas, Kawasaki, The T7 is brilliant as a light ADV/sport tourer, Swiss army knife. I love it. I found my bike.

    The very reason I reserved mine is the simplicity and the looks and dependability

    At 5'7", it certainly is tall, but I LOVE it. I expected it to be buzzy and obnoxious at 70mph+, but it is so smooth, especially for being a 700cc motor. I am a little letdown in how wide the pannier rack options look, mostly because of how far out that exhaust is on it, so the rear end looks incredibly wide once it has boxes on it. I can get past that, though, the bike is fantastic.

      You must do a lot of off-road, and like my friend Mark, prefer to be “on top of the bike” rather than down in it.
      Do you ever have trouble at stops, inclines, etc, due to the ride height?

    • @elindenstein
      @elindenstein 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@roaddirttv Off-road is only about 20% of my riding so far. I came from a Super Tenere, and it for sure feels much different than that. I have to be really active with my hips at stops and slide to one side to get my foot down. If I waited for an adventure bike that was suited for my height, I’d never be able to ride one 😭

      @@elindenstein there’s a lower seat Yamaha makes for the T700, and they’re sending one to us to sample. We’ll let you know if it helps. A much smaller bike, but the Royal Enfield Himalayan was a great size bike for those of us under 5’10”, and quite versatile too, like this Yamaha.

      @@roaddirttv Already got the Seat Concepts Comfort Sport Touring!! If I need to lower it down the road, I will, but so far it hasn’t mattered. It’s so well balanced off road that I’ve been able to easily get by with good foot placement on elevated surfaces

    Is the suspension stock? Is the suspension comfortable for road touring

    • @roaddirttv
      @roaddirttv  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Ran the stock settings on the OEM suspension. Softened the rear slightly to make it easier to compress and put my feet down at stops, but otherwise no changes.

    68 - 70 at 5500+ , that would drive me nuts riding for 2+ hours. Probably needs a different sprocket for highway use.
