I love to read his autobiographie - particularly the description of his mother.
He was NOT born into a "lower middle class family" - it was pure and poor working class!
His multi-vol autobiography has some of the finest writing in the English language - or so I thought many decades ago. I must embed myself in it some time soon.
He was a great 20th century playwright.
Not just a playwright - read his autobiography - some of the finest writing in the English language.
IM RELATED TO HIM!!!!!!!!!:D
isnt everyone
Did Sean o casey live im miuntjoy Square? + did he write some plays while living in mountjoy square?
''Sean O' Casy was born into 'a lower middle class family' in Dublin.'' WTF?
he is a distant relative of mine.
Anyone knews about the play ' the beginning of the good" ??
Sean O'Casey passed away in 1964 at the age of 101.
84 not 101
Mention of his first 4 plays but no mention of his last 12 plays, Foster says,,,the later plays are popular in some ways and in some places, Not so, They are never performed and grossly undervalued, I do wish Foster wasnt the only goto man in England for anything Irish, When someone told O Casey that Noel Coward was a thinker,,O Casey cried out in disgust,,,HOLY MOTHER OF GOD, Thank God Bill Bryden was a Scot
94 I think.
