    Bought this a week ago. Takes all the guess work out of cold smoking. No more worrying about getting too hot. I’m using the vertical heavy duty Dyna-Glo smoker and I must say I’m impressed.

    I've been using the four channel smoker with pellets for years. With two channels filled it smokes for 6 to 8 hours. I buy slab bacon and re smoke it with fantastic results. I also leave the smoker door slightly open for first 20 minutes to make sure it'll stay lit.

    Just ordered the pellet model!! Can't wait to try it out. I have a Masterbuilt electric I just got for Christmas. Woodchips were just not putting off enough smoke. Plus it was check it and load chips every hour or so. Hope this helps. Thanks for the info!!

    So, do you still use the side bar twister to drop in wet wood chips? Or, do you just use this little tray to get around doing that? I am new to smoking but have had very good luck with a smoker just like yours, except I didn't use the little try with pellets like you have done.

    So basically to cold smoke something you just stick this thing in a grill with no charcoal and close the lid rightright? But if you want to hot smoke, you add charcoal?

    Don't you have a wood chip tray in the MB why do you need to use the tray? I get a lot of smoke in my MB?

    • @PoeLemic
      @PoeLemic 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, I have MB too, and it works fine. Is he not going to use the chip tray and just use this instead? I'm not sure I understand his intention. Do you?

    • @NattyAK
      @NattyAK 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The biggest problem most people have is the MB won't put out enough smoke. It also will not cold smoke at temps below 180F well (and the little cold smoke box they sell it's worth it). This helps a ton with the amount of smoke and cold smoking. Also, not having to touch your MB for 8-16 hours is a dream. Let that baby smoke. No more pulling out that tube and putting more chips in. Just let this guy smoke for hours on end.

    • @MiniPinto60
      @MiniPinto60 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is to smoke WITHOUT heat. This box produces very little heat so you can smoke things like cheese. If you use the standard method in this smoker the cheese will melt.

    Yeah I got this smoker. I got the pellets from the same company. I will say this. There is no force known to man that will keep this thing lit. It might burn an inch or two but it will not stay lit no matter what you do. I tried pellets, sawdust and got fresh pellets and sawdust. This does not work PERIOD!

    I bought one of those. I know they get great reviews, but I'm no dummy when it comes to slow smoking. This product did AWESOME, as far as steady burn time and low temp. Just as with burning ANY wood, either in your fireplace, woodstove or BBQ grill, if you burn it low enough, it will produce creosote. Thats NOT good when it comes to food. I did pork belly for bacon twice, and it ended up with a harsh, bitter, sooty taste, because of the slow low burn. Just sayin.
