Haters are always going to hate.... I have a 16-ft gheenoe classic with a 23 copperhead....it is an absolute machine, once you buy a surface drive for a small boat you will never go back to an outboard...nice rig
Back in the 70's I put a 20 merc on a 16ft gheenoe and it took 3 of us to keep it in the water so we put the craziest one of it in it solo and it almost was gonna flip but the motor jumped off
The guys in Southeast Asia have some insane fast hulls with a similar concept using long tail motors . Well Yall went well down that trenasse ( ditch )pretty good .
Be careful running the shallow sandy bottoms. We wore through our canoe hull 3 times in one duck season from driving it across sandy bottoms. Makes for a lot of fiberglass repair in the middle of duck season.
Lol nice. Probably going to sink it a couple times before you maybe put that on a john boat but those boats are the best for duck hunting. With a 420 long tail.
Thanks for the video. Yep, I'd say you've got a bit too heavy of a motor for that particular Gheenoe. It does look fun, but it looks like a handful to operate safely. I'm just learning about all of this, but what about building a 212cc engine to the moon, and still trying to make it durable with all the right billet parts and by governing it down to a reasonable enough top RPM? I'm thinking the significant weight savings, extra freeboard, superior balance and handling, and better safety characteristics might make up for most of the loss in power over the big motor and probably would still deliver 15-18 MPH with 2 in the boat. Just my $.02 of course, and I admit I am no expert. I realize I'm late to the discussion too, but oh well.
I am kind suprised it didn't go faster, my 1636 Jon boat with a custom built "sorta" longtail running a built 6.5 predator with a 7 in prop will push me up to 17 mph alone, loaded down it struggles though. Been contemplating building a short tail with a 420 predator running a 8 or 8.5 in prop.
Where do you come up with a Duck Boat weighting in at 4000 lbs. . My 16 x 48 Semi Vee John Boat with a 27 hp. Longtail Go-devil loaded down is somewhere in the neighborhood of 800b to 850 lb and that`s with Two People . My 23hp. Copperhead on a Custom built John loaded down with Tow People is around 650 to 700 lbs. Put a little weight in the nose to stop that Porpoising or you could crack the Boat . Enjoyed it . Oh it looked like you were running in an Airboat Trail .
4k lbs duck boat is massive, i have a 1760 roughneck with a 40hp and it weighs around 600lbs does 30mph with 2 full size people and gear. But your setup is bold
I know you are kinda young so I will forgive you but just try to remember son, there really is no such thing as too much power. It may have been a mistake once or twice in the history of mankind but damned if I know when or where.
If everyone could please SUBSCRIBE!!! Really need 1,000 subs and we will get back to posting quality vids.
I would love to see a drift boat project
Thank you so much I was scared to put a 50 lb 6hp on my canoe. You guys give me a little more confidence.

I have the same motor and was planning on running it on a 13' Gheenoe with a front battery set up. Thanks for putting this video out .

Glad to see a new vid
Lake Jackson?
love seeing new videos
Holy crap! Is that lake Jackson? That’s where I live!
yes it is
Could add a longer handle for throttle. Sweet idea.

Carefull ya say,???....lmao
Repaired my gheenoe a couple times... At least it's on the bottom nobody can see it.
is this on lake jackson ?

How does it turn? I was debating on putting one on my Lt25 25

321 crew over here 🤙
leg cast nice!
Would like to see someone try a Thai long tail with one.
About a 12 hp long tail would push that boat anywhere without ripping out the transom
I've run a 25 hp evinrude on mine when I had it no problems.it had the wider transom
Want to see more of the boosted engine!!!!

John boat planes out way better than a flat back canoe if the transom was wider it would do better
Dude that's so awesome
I'd expect it to go a lot faster than that tho
Think he could probably get a bit more by experimenting with different prop pitches
Makes me wonder why the guys leg is in a cast.. 😂 . I'd love to hang out with yall😂😂
What kind of dope did you smoke before mounting that motor
sweet!
I ran a 30 hp evinrude on one of those square back canoes
Finally

I can see that motor going underwater soon……
It'll be fine.
This is awesome😂

Yeah I was thinking he might have meant 400+ pound duck boat
I thought this channel was dead!
Not anymore!
@@Clapped_Out_Customs Glad to hear it bro. This content really does it for me haha.
Yo that’s crowder landing y’all boys from here ?
Currently here for college.
@@Clapped_Out_Customs I got a 14x32 with a 16 hp vtwin I can show u around some spots if u wanna link one day on the water
If the back of your boat was higher and you could control it from the middle, winner winner.
Surface drive on a fiberglass hull = destruction
One of the issues you will have is if you hit a boulder or log underwater………it will make you change your tune……lol
Build a jetboat
i put my 30 hp suzuki 2 stroke on mine that is the same exact size and it was fast as ffffffuuukkkk
I put 75 hp mercury on jon boat rated 40 hp max goes 58mph topspeed 2stroke mercury 75 hp on old jon boat
I know you are kinda young so I will forgive you but just try to remember son, there really is no such thing as too much power. It may have been a mistake once or twice in the history of mankind but damned if I know when or where.
полная ерунда и бездарнрсть
Haha that’s wild i love lake Jackson
