Just starting double bevel marquetry with hand fret saw, this method you provide is definitely a keeper- and loved the idea to make a matching set of coasters. Thanks for making the video.

I'm a fairly advanced woodworker mostly involving keepsake boxes. I decided to start learning marquetry. This is the best TH-cam vid on this subject bar none. While waiting for my veneer pack I built my donkey out of thick plexiglass. I like the vacuum bag set up but while start by clamping.

Just found you site and subscribed. I can't speak to your musical abilities as I am pretty much tone deaf, but your marquetry is beautiful and I hope to see much more.

    1) A proper martini only needs 1 olive. It's a cocktail, not a salad bar.
    2) Forceps and scalpels are very different. I didn't see any forceps in this video.
    3) This was really slick and helpful. Nice job.

Glad you found it helpful. Indeed, I do accidentally call the scalpel a forceps, but I like 2 olives. Nothing tastes better than an olive soaked in gin.

What kind of tape are you using? Also, what is the model number of your air compressor and how quiet is it? Do you have any info on the venturi set up for the vacuum press? thanks for the video.

Venturi is from veneersupplies.com, basic model : www.veneersupplies.com/products/Vac-Pro-Venturi-Vacuum-Generator.html. Yellow tape is Frogtape delicate surface. Not sure of compressor model, but it is from California airtools and is super quiet. Mine has about at 2.5 CFM capacity and about a 6 gal steel tank. All of the california airtool compressors are very quiet. I put a 24 inch box fan by the compressor to help keep it cool, otherwise it can get rather hot because it is running nearly continuously. A somewhat larger compressor might be smarter (say 5 CFM) because then it wouldn't have to run as much. Also I adjust the pressure to about 80 psi

Please advise me to look out for when buying a scroll saw. Thanks!

One of the most important factors to consider in a scroll saw is the ease of releasing and reinstalling the blade, because you have to do that many times over the course of this work. It is also essential that the saw uses pinless style blades, which most do nowadays. I've got a Dewalt DW788 scroll saw and would recommend it. I could not find a less expensive scroll saw that I thought would work well. A handheld fret saw can be used as an alternative and is much less expensive and gives excellent control
