Was supposed to be in the class on the date this video was shot. I will enroll again in 2022. What a great instructor! I took a lot away in a 30 min. video.
Dave, Thanks for sharing your expertise! I learned a lot in this short video. Your work is beautiful. Sorry for the people who are complaining in the comments. They obviously can't see past your unique presentation style to see your genius and craftiness. I appreciate the offering here. Good on ya!
This video was really soothing to watch and very informative, and I like your quirky personality. Thank you! I feel very called to try out marquetry. I love working with wood but I want to do something for which I don't need a workshop and many tools. Marquetry is perfect since it's quite minimal on space and tools but maximal on the satisfactory & beauty levels :)
Is it possible to buy the whole kit that your classes make? I’m not the best at woodworking but I am very interested in Marquetry and inlay. I would try to follow your guidance from your TH-cam videos. I’m really curious at what’s all included ( I guessing tools and hard templates are not included)?
Thanks for sharing your techniques. I'm also interested to know the process of moving from blue tape to veneer tape, but also to know how you cut the larger area shapes so they fit perfectly.
The chisel is a Record 2" firmer chisel. I like its heft. I make the fillet maker on a table saw with a sacrificial fence. It's a bit fiddly but doable.
Thank you for the Video. Your Techniques is easy to understand and I learned a lot in this short Video.
👍
Thank very much.

Glad you liked it! Contact us on our website if you'd like to arrange private lessons with Dave.
I absolutely agree about the minimal tools, and the quirky personality. You have to go with what you've got.
Very interesting technique! I got new tricks for marquetry.
I need to see the part where it is glued on the final board
Try listening in 1.25 speed. 😁👍🏼
thanks
Good tip
Thank you!! Great content but way too long
Thanks for the great video. It gave me a couple new tricks for marquetry.
Please bring him more
We posted another video this past week. I hope that you enjoy it.

Very clear and smart technics. Thank you for sharing 🙏
my eyes went straight to the misaligned geometry on the lid.
Hi! Interesting methodology! I using a similar process..
Pretty interesting!!! 😊
What's the big chisel tool called that you were cutting with? How do you make the fillet tool that scores the veneer? Thanks in advance.
The chisel is a Record 2" firmer chisel. I like its heft. I make the fillet maker on a table saw with a sacrificial fence. It's a bit fiddly but doable.
I noticed the veneer is much thicker than what I've seen being sold online. Where did you purchase that veneer and what is the thickness ?
That is standard thickness veneer : about 1/42 of an inch, 0.020 inches.
Dad shoes in the house! I just took mine off.
How did you notch the wood piece that you used to register with the piece of veneer to 2 MM??
table saw. It is fiddly but doable. I make them in bunches so that the setup time seems better.
Where can i buy this fillet maker?
Show the next steps too. He mentioned veneer tape, so show changing from the random bits of blue tape to that, then how to attach it to a base too.
great tips, but quite a lot of work for one inlay. yosegi seems appealing
Extremely Boring!!
Please don’t take your sleeping pills before recording a video, because you put us asleep too!!
