My favorite childhood WWE (WWF) Championship belt from the Attitude Era in the late 1990s and early 2000s right next to the WWE Undisputed Championship from the Ruthless Aggression Era from my late childhood through my teenage years in the early/mid 2000s.
For some reason I’ve always loved the big green championship with all the previous holders engraved in the side plates. It’s massive and honors history. Just looks like the top of the mountain. Up there with the winged eagle for me
Yea big green while tacky had some prestige to it that makes it a weird fav of mine also. I don’t know why. I also don’t believe that’s the original. I think most of that collection I guess was replicas.

And not knocking them for doing it, I understand why, but it just strikes me as odd how they covered up the "F" in the logo on the belts but didn't blur it in old footage.
The Winged Eagle and the Big Eagle titles are the most iconic for me. If they are to introduce a new title belt for the unified Universal and WWE championships, I would like it to be a larger version of the Winged Eagle, with a bigger globe, a big WWE logo ('cause there's no way we're not getting that) and at the bottom, where it used to say wrestling champion, they can write universal champion, as a homage to the WWE universe, but revert to announcing the title as the WWE Championship. And also after Roman's reign is over, officially retire the universal title and maintain only the lineage of the most historic title in sports entertainment, the WWE Championship.
I think they should combine ideas of winged eagle and attitude era titles, big logo in middle of the globe with the Eagle predominant at top of title, can have logo pop like current title in middle. They've done a new title to honour big gold be good if they done a homage to their own classic titles for there most prestigious championship
I think the term "Universal Heavyweight Champion" should be used to differentiate with the new World Heavyweight Champion. Also, it sounds more prestigious than the term "WWE Champion" because the latter sounds like not only you are a champion of the company, but also the ace of the promotion. Alternatively, once Roman's reign is over, we can relegate the Universal Championship as the equivalent of the World title of the other brand, make a new belt out of it, then make the WWE Championship as a super championship where the holder can show up on both brands.
It would’ve been cool if they talked about designs that we would’ve planned on making, I think I saw one once where it was literally just a giant WWE logo held together with thug chains, I hope one day they can talk about these absolute bizarre designs they had in mind at one point or another

My favorite titles were definitely the Big Gold Heavyweight Championship, the cruiser weight championship from the 2000s , & ras tag titles from the 2000’s.
i really liked the 24/7 championship belt as well. The green leather made it stand out and the circle center plate saying 24/7 champion was great. They need to bring it back.

The dark blue strapped big globe belt was only ever held by Stone Cold Steve Austin and Kane. It was further different in that it had the older block logo. It wouldn't be until the Rock won the Deadly Games tournament at Survivor series 1998 that the updated Black Strap with Scratch logo would be used until it was retired in 2002
The original WWWF title held by Buddy Rogers was originally a tag team belt in Al Haft's Ohio territory, and later became the NWA United States title (Chicago version). All 3 championships represented by that belt heavily associated with Rogers.
Just wrote a final paper on Bruno, and he has to be the greatest champion of all time. He spent nearly 11 years as champion during his career, that kind of dominance will never be reciprocated.
I would love to see more custom WWE championships in the future. Just to see how superstars would customize them according to their taste and the influence throughout the years is just beautiful to marvel at! I can see some UFCXWWWF influence on the new world heavyweight championship belt that triple H introduced to us some minor changes with huge globe and W in front with 2 lions left and right 👌🏼 I think they should add superstars names to the side plates to acknowledge the legacy and legend of the previous holders like the old IWGP championship belt. Since Triple H brought back the World Heavyweight Championship I think it's going to be a Matter of time before we have the Eagle back with a new WWE championship title.
They should have just taken the WWE Title off Roman and had the new belt design replace the current WWE Title. All the new one is missing is the word "Heavyweight" they both say "WWE World Champion" so it wouldn't be much different for the words on the belt.

I don't know about the rest of y'all but I still absolutely hate the new logo. It's, in my opinion, the embodiment of the WWE pushing a "cleaner" look. The scratch logo seemed to perfectly represent the culture of wrestling fans. Nowdays it's just a bunch of clowns on twitter talking about who they stan.

Fun fact, the original women’s title was the oldest title WWE ever had gaining recognition back in 1956. Even though it has its rough history from being deactivated several times, 4 women wrestlers are not recognised holding that title after beating moolah, many vacancies, being held by a man, being mistreated in the attitude era, being split in half and devoured and replaced by the divas title. It still holds a special place in my heart.
They did leave out the Bruno Sammartino title wasn't just held by Bruno Sammartino but was also held by Ivan Koloff and Pedro Morales as well so they left that out the one Pedro Morales had for a brief time before the 1973 to 1983 title don't know what happened to that one oh well we will never know
The 4:17 Winged Eagle belt 🦅 looks clean. The newer belts look too focused on branding and letting everyone know it’s WWE logo is there. And honestly…idk if anybody has told triple H this…but the WWE logo as of now sucks. The old WWF logo had a professional *THIS IS WRESTLING* look to it. The new WWE logo looks like an ECE font backyard brawl type of logo and so no matter how nice a belt looks it’s always ruined by that dumb font and gigantic logo on the front.

Ever since WrestleMania 38, they’ve been calling it the Undisputed Universal Championship specifically I don’t think they’re going to merge it just to go back to calling it the WWE Championship. All this recent attention the title has been given feels like a farewell tour for the company’s longest tenured title but like every other title it’s about to get replaced… At least that’s how I’m taking all this I guess we’ll see in the very near future
@HTTR94. That’s because WWE don’t go to real belt makers anymore. The 80’s and early 90’s era of WWE belts were made by Reggie Parks. Hogan 86, André 87, The Winged Eagle, Classic IC, Classic Tags were all created by Reggie Parks. Then as we get into the Attitude Era and Ruthless Aggression Era, J Mar was the new belt maker for WWE, The Oval IC, The Big Eagle, Attitude Tags, Attitude and Ruthless Women’s Title, Smokin Skull, Undisputed, Raw Ruthless Tag titles, SmackDown Ruthless Tag titles, WWE US title, US Spinner, the WWE Spinner, and the WWECW title from 2006 to 2008. They were all done by JMar. I’m not sure about the European title though, I’m not sure who done that though. The WWE have been somewhat designing their own titles since 2003, but from 2003 to 2013 WWE would give belt makers bullet points that they wanted and the belt makers would do their best. By 2013 WWE stopped contacting real belt makers and instead solely was designing their belts by WWE’s graphic design team. So most of the belts used since 2013 have been solely designed by WWE’s graphic design team. Also starting in 2013 was WWE’s partnership with OCC Orange County Choppers, now they mainly make Chopper motorcycles, but WWE wanted them to do their leather work for the belts. So WWE would ship the finished designs to them to do the leather work. So that’s the reason why the belt designs are not as good as they used to be, because WWE started giving belt makers bullet points in 2003, and fully started to design their own belts in 2013.
This is awesome. I was hoping that Ben would go a bit into the Superstar Billy Graham/Backlund/Sammartino era belt and how it wasn't the same belt. Billy Graham had a red leather back and then Backlund's was purple and a brigher blue at some point. Just curious as to why the belt changed. Was it robbed? Just changed because of wear or perhaps because of requests from the title holder? In his biography, Backlund talks a bit about having to put up the money to be able to have the belt.
Even when i have so good memories of the wwe spinner championship. WWE championship of 2002-2005 has been the most beautiful championship design ever created,.
When i first got into WWE, i was in my first year of High School, and the Spinner Belt was the title at the time. When i got SVR 2011, i fell in love with the Undisputed Title, and it became my favorite. However, the current WWE Championship (not Undisputed Universal WWE, i'm talking just WWE Title designs) actually became my favorite (hot take), because i loved the futuristic logo that first came with the WWE Network (not that i don't love the Attitude logo, it's absolutely awesome)
The Big Eagle/Attitude Era and the Undisputed WWE Championship belt designs are my favorite versions of the WWE Heavyweight Championship from the Early to mid 2000s time period!

Since Triple H brought back the World Heavyweight Championship I think it's going to be a Matter of time before we have the Eagle back with a new WWE championship title.
They should have just taken the WWE Title off Roman and had the new belt design replace the current WWE Title. All the new one is missing is the word "Heavyweight" they both say "WWE World Champion" so it wouldn't be much different for the words on the belt.
@@RyanConnell5150 They no longer use the term "Heavyweight" anymore because it is proven that Cruiserweights sometimes can be booked to win against larger opponents (a la David and Goliath) to make a story more compelling. Not only WWE does that, but also AEW, Impact and ROH. Only MLW and NWA have weight-specific belts in the US today.
I hope so, Im sick of seeing that Giant Hall of fame ring belt.

@@forzit8623 Yes Hunter brought "Heavyweight" back, but I beg to disagree on your other statement, because when Rey Mysterio won the World Heavyweight title on two occasions they simply call it a World Championship as he is a cruiserweight.
That "first" WWE World title held by Buddy Rogers was first known as West Virginia and Eastern title worn by The Great Scott and Fritz Von Goering respectively
When John Cena had introduced the spinning wwe title it looked so different from the wwe titles which now also looks even though that title is not in wwe
This could easily become an episodic thing. WWE could easily do 1 video for every championships WWE had under their banner.

I don't know about the rest of y'all but I still absolutely hate the new logo. It's, in my opinion, the embodiment of the WWE pushing a "cleaner" look. The scratch logo seemed to perfectly represent the culture of wrestling fans. Nowdays it's just a bunch of clowns on twitter talking about who they stan.
I think the newest one they have now brings it all full circle from Bruno , Pedro , Hulk all the way to the 2023-2024 era love it

Undisputed Title and Spinner are my favorites but I also like the Green Title. I would’ve just made the green strap to a generic black though, but still a nice looking title
Fun fact, the original women’s title was the oldest title WWE ever had gaining recognition back in 1956. Even though it has its rough history from being deactivated several times, 4 women wrestlers are not recognised holding that title after beating moolah, many vacancies, being held by a man, being mistreated in the attitude era, being split in half and devoured and replaced by the divas title. It still holds a special place in my heart.

They did leave out the Bruno Sammartino title wasn't just held by Bruno Sammartino but was also held by Ivan Koloff and Pedro Morales as well so they left that out the one Pedro Morales had for a brief time before the 1973 to 1983 title don't know what happened to that one oh well we will never know
The 4:17 Winged Eagle belt 🦅 looks clean. The newer belts look too focused on branding and letting everyone know it’s WWE logo is there. And honestly…idk if anybody has told triple H this…but the WWE logo as of now sucks. The old WWF logo had a professional *THIS IS WRESTLING* look to it. The new WWE logo looks like an ECE font backyard brawl type of logo and so no matter how nice a belt looks it’s always ruined by that dumb font and gigantic logo on the front.
I love the Bob Backlund Eagle title. I wish that the Eagles were kept on the belt even in its current design in order to maintain that legacy

Ever since WrestleMania 38, they’ve been calling it the Undisputed Universal Championship specifically I don’t think they’re going to merge it just to go back to calling it the WWE Championship. All this recent attention the title has been given feels like a farewell tour for the company’s longest tenured title but like every other title it’s about to get replaced… At least that’s how I’m taking all this I guess we’ll see in the very near future

The run of the Hogan 86 through the Undisputed is unmatched. The current makers of the belts don't know what they're doing apparently.
@HTTR94. That’s because WWE don’t go to real belt makers anymore.
The 80’s and early 90’s era of WWE belts were made by Reggie Parks. Hogan 86, André 87, The Winged Eagle, Classic IC, Classic Tags were all created by Reggie Parks.
Then as we get into the Attitude Era and Ruthless Aggression Era, J Mar was the new belt maker for WWE, The Oval IC, The Big Eagle, Attitude Tags, Attitude and Ruthless Women’s Title, Smokin Skull, Undisputed, Raw Ruthless Tag titles, SmackDown Ruthless Tag titles, WWE US title, US Spinner, the WWE Spinner, and the WWECW title from 2006 to 2008. They were all done by JMar.
I’m not sure about the European title though, I’m not sure who done that though.
The WWE have been somewhat designing their own titles since 2003, but from 2003 to 2013 WWE would give belt makers bullet points that they wanted and the belt makers would do their best.
By 2013 WWE stopped contacting real belt makers and instead solely was designing their belts by WWE’s graphic design team. So most of the belts used since 2013 have been solely designed by WWE’s graphic design team.
Also starting in 2013 was WWE’s partnership with OCC Orange County Choppers, now they mainly make Chopper motorcycles, but WWE wanted them to do their leather work for the belts. So WWE would ship the finished designs to them to do the leather work.
So that’s the reason why the belt designs are not as good as they used to be, because WWE started giving belt makers bullet points in 2003, and fully started to design their own belts in 2013.
This is awesome. I was hoping that Ben would go a bit into the Superstar Billy Graham/Backlund/Sammartino era belt and how it wasn't the same belt. Billy Graham had a red leather back and then Backlund's was purple and a brigher blue at some point. Just curious as to why the belt changed. Was it robbed? Just changed because of wear or perhaps because of requests from the title holder? In his biography, Backlund talks a bit about having to put up the money to be able to have the belt.

When i first got into WWE, i was in my first year of High School, and the Spinner Belt was the title at the time. When i got SVR 2011, i fell in love with the Undisputed Title, and it became my favorite. However, the current WWE Championship (not Undisputed Universal WWE, i'm talking just WWE Title designs) actually became my favorite (hot take), because i loved the futuristic logo that first came with the WWE Network (not that i don't love the Attitude logo, it's absolutely awesome)
It sucks they have to put tape over every “F” on the pre-WWE era belts.

Undisputed is by far the best. Best shape, black on gold looks great, and has a nameplate which the Winged Eagle and Big Eagle belts. Seriously, no other belt is even close.
