yesss!!! keep it up dude very impressed. wish i could be hands on deck with yall. this florida heat is killing me and horrible for my multiple scerlosis but car builds must go on
Nice man, nice! Cool that you're doing what I was saying by sanding down the BMW logos on the manifold and valve cover. I recommended it in part 1 before I watched this video. It always makes it look really good like that IMO. Damn, you should've aerosol overhauled the crank pulley/ harmonic balancer and the oil cap. I think that's all that's missing. The choo-choo boy looks great on there really. If you're worried about melting the plug wires, grab some of the heat wrap for them and a turbski blanket. The blanket alone will make a big difference. Plus holding the heat inside the housing as much as possible increases the efficiency. Shit is looking knarley dude! One of the cleanest m20 builds I've seen for sure. I know it'll be loud but man the downpipe and wastegate dump would be so badass coming out the side of the fender. Can't wait to see it go I the chassis and my only wish is that I was there and was part of these type of builds. 😎👍👍
great video so excited to see it really coming together good shit BUT dont worry about ur coil wires i had a turbo m20 and i never had any issues they do get hot but not enough to melt them
The wrinkle black is sick. Whats that hole next to the intake ports that the oil was coming out of for? I thought it was maybe for a breather into the intake but it also has a port on the valve cover. The m20 throttle body looks so small compared to the m30 stuff. I had to wrap all my plug wires they got fried next to the exhaust housing
@@DENVERBEERANDOIL seems super un-necessary, the drain is on the other side! Im sure the BMW engineers had some brilliant reason to over complicate things right?
@@DENVERBEERANDOIL thought that just came to mind is maybe its to let the pan breathe to the valve cover, m30 can through timing chain area. Maybe its to keep the head from pressurizing and pushing air out the breather when oil fills faster than it drains
That would make sense, would be the only way to bleed off crankcase pressure. I'm not used to timing belt BMW engines yet, I bet you are exactly right.
Currently running the same turbo on my m20b25 e30, it's a little big for the engine. I don't see boost until 3.8k rpm, and hit full boost (17psi) at 6k. Curious to see what your engine will do.
Damn, that's not promising, hoping the extra displacement and cam will help out a little with spool time. Thanks for sharing though, any idea what yours makes at 17 psi?
@@DENVERBEERANDOIL Haven't had it on a Dyno, but it will spin 3rd gear at 60mph. This is with a 3.25 diff and stock bottle cap wheels. I can upload a video of a pull if you want. I think I can push the boost a little more and make it spool faster. I have 6lb wastegate spring with an EBC at 100% duty cycle.
I thought I replied yesterday but I had a question. A buddy just got an 05 M3 with a blown head gasket for almost nothing. When we replace it is the any preventative maintenance you recommend? Parts there are better than others? I figured you're the one to ask since all the BMW groups are pretty trash.
Hey DBO, I spoke to will about some 327i stuff and wanted to know do you guys think running the 327i setup with a completely stock eta bottom would run like shit? I know the compression ratio will be about 8.4:1 ish but does that mean anything other than a little bit less power. I want to get a turbo in the future but looking at just running NA for now.
@@DENVERBEERANDOIL that’s great to hear. I was worried that there would be a really big loss of power, or it would make the engine want to stall out more or run terrible.
Coming together nicely Chris great job 🇬🇧👍🏴👍
Your not the only one! I love working on cars and watching sports👍 keeps my world moving
over the past two months or so this channel has become one of my favorites, if not my favorite channel on youtube
Thanks for the kind words, it means a lot.
m20 is looking amazing chris, wrinkle black with the polished lettering is my favorite way to do an m20 valve cover
Nice work bud.
could you provide a spec sheet? building the same engine for my car

Keep up the great work, I am sourcing parts for a Motronic 1.3 conversion on my e30 323i L-jetronic.

If you make a turbo kit for sale I'll buy one
I'll talk to Jon and see if he is interested in making a kit.
@@DENVERBEERANDOIL yes please, im planning on giving my e28 m20b25 a turbo
I too!

It is direct drain from the head to the oil pan. Known in the community as the "bitch tube"

Did you heat the wrinkle paint? I missed it if you did.
Tried it, came out blotchy
@@DENVERBEERANDOIL when I did my valve cover and intake on my MR2 the heat was important. Made the wrinkles much better, and the paint more durable.

What kind of exhaust manifold is that? Looks different as the eBay ones. Got a link?
It is CX Racing I believe
Not a single drop of oil while installing

I would definitely do rod bearings and a valve adjustment,
I'll tell him to add it to the list. He's making an fcp euro order Thursday or Friday.

It would just be lower compression, a little slower, still rev much better than the eta head. Turbo will make up for the lower compression later

Holy shit never seen someone use and impact to time the engine and lmfao
