Pastor Rick....I know you did not realise you said it, but in the story of Anna, it was Simeon who was prompted to go to the temple for the dedication of Jesus at just the right time, not Zechariah.

I can only imagine what the Holliness/ anti women preaching folks are gonna say about this..Thank you rick, your preaching has brought me closer to the lord, I was lost, hopeless, felt that God could not love me, because no matter how hard I try, I continued to fall, your preaching gave me hope that God is a loving God, and he loves me in all my imperfections, some on here preach we must be perfect once we come to the lord, I can never live up to those standards, thank you jesus for dying for me so I can have eternal life.

Decisions require choices. Not everyone has choices. Or it may be "this disaster" vs. "that disaster." Assumptions can be dangerous.

Luke 2:8-12

10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people.
11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.
12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”
Error about 30 mins, saying Zachariah went to the temple, it wasn't him, it was Simeon.

There was no Christmas at the time these women lived, Christmas is a Catholic invention and is a celebration of Christ death not birth. Christ Mass, Mass is always said for the dead. My Christ lives!
Elizabeth overcame her resentment and bitterness, Mary overcame her fear, and Anna overcame her grief.
