  • We are LA & Dean, Exploring Grandparents from Canada, currently retired and traveling in the Philippines. We'd like to share our experience when we traveled from the city of Cebu to Oslob on Cebu Island. Initially, we had booked into a hotel we had researched, but upon our 118 km journey to Oslob, we realized our booking was a month out. Consequently, we had to swiftly find alternative accommodation. To our delight, we discovered that the Babylon Hotel was a true gem! Unlike our original choice, which was situated right alongside the highway, the Babylon was tucked several streets back, allowing us to enjoy peaceful walks outside our hotel most days.
During our time in Oslob, we stumbled upon the Immaculate Conception Parish Church on Calle Aragones, known for its coral construction, as well as the ruins of the Spanish Barracks. The development of the latter was halted when the Americans took over from the Spanish. It was a spectacular experience to converse with a local who shared the history behind these landmarks. The awe-inspiring coral building, crafted by hand, exuded a profound sense of history.
We made our reservation at the Babylon through Booking.com, opting for a sea-view room conveniently located near the internet router for optimal connectivity. The front desk efficiently arranged our visit to observe the whale sharks within one day of our arrival, assuring us that payment could be made on-site. For more details, feel free to watch our whale shark video. And don't forget, Dean developed a cough during our time there. If you watch the entire video, you'll uncover the surprising twist about his health."

Thanks ❤️ Yup! Yet, getting sick overseas certainly has better health help than at home ❤️
