    My Batman and Robin models are up on my shelf. Built as a kid, rebuilt and repainted as adult. Couldn't salvage the panels on the Robin kit though.

    The artwork on that bat cycle model is so cool with that low angle! I'm surprised Marjorie three names isn't screaming from the floor of Congress that Batman is a tree hugger 🤣

    GREAT video as usual Chaz. Informative and detailed. I would like to point out something regarding the Batman figure kits. In the video when you were talking about the 1984 MPC kit, you had said that this was the kit that they started using the decal for the chest logo. They actually started using that decal in the 1974 kit. The first kit from the 1960's was the only kit that did not use the decal. The chest logo was part of the original mold, as well as being the only kit of the four kits that had BATMAN molded into the tree, as well the only kit that came with the owl. Thought it was noteworthy to mention this. Being a fellow collector (as we have spoken many times over the years) I figured you would not mind my 2 cents LOL Anyways, hope all is well my friend. Keep up the great work 👍

      Thanks Jim🦇
      I messed up, I meant to point out that they changed the MPC Bat decal but must've forgot. The bat logo itself changed from the one used by Aurora in 1974 like you said. The 1984 one had a date of 1972 but the logo was the perfected 1964 Bat Logo used widely on merchandise in 1989. I should've showed a close up side by side comparison.

      @@chazgeorgebatmanhotline7069 I am a wealth of useless knowledge LOL. Also .... I meant to ask you about the Polar Lights reissue kits. You mentioned there were rare White Chase versions that were produced. How do you determine the difference ? When you mentioned it in the vid, you were showing the bottom of the boxes having an oval opening covered in clear plastic inside. Is that the Xfactor? Thanks 🤘

    According to an interview I read with Andrew Yanchus, Aurora was VERY close to producing a model of the Batcopter for the TV series; which was essentially a Bell H-13 with batwings added. But the project was shelved when the TV series went off the air. That was too bad, because we didn't get a model of this iconic helicopter until Revell finally made one for their "M*A*S*H" series released in 1994. Had Aurora gone ahead with their project sans-batwings, they could have filled this gap, and potentially cashed-in on the "M*A*S*H" TV series when it first came on in 1972. If made to 1/32nd scale, combining it with the Batcycle (showing Robin's sidecar detached so he could get in the chopper on his side) would have made an awesome diorama . . . .
    Thanks for posting this!

      My pleasure! That would have been an awesome kit!

      @@chazgeorgebatmanhotline7069 Actually, I made a mistake. According to the Scalemates site, the Aurora Batcycle was always 1/25th scale when it first came out in 1967, and would have been way too big to use in a diorama with a 1/32nd scale Batcopter (though the 1/32nd scale Batmobile kit could have been used.) On the other hand, the 1994 Revell "M*A*S*H" H-13 was made to 1/35th (standard military) scale and is much too small to be used alongside the 1/32nd scale Polar Lights Batmobile reissue.
      As for a "canon" Batplane; in 1974 Revell made a 1/32 scale F-4E Phantom that could be modified into the Batplane first depicted in the "Batman '66" comic book series #7. Though a "latecomer," it still has the proper 1966 "Batman" "look-and-feel," and it would be pretty cool with the addition of the figures from the Aurora/Polar Lights 1/32nd scale Batmobile.

    I wonder why there's so many color variations of the boxes (and cards for the carded) for all the Batman toys

    • @chazgeorgebatmanhotline7069
      @chazgeorgebatmanhotline7069  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's the way it was and still is today. It's like the comics nowadays with multiple cover variants. Seems there's a package variation for almost every item produced. You have reissues, bootlegs, foreign imports...

    I purchased a sealed Aurora Robin kit from Speakeasy Antiques in NY in the late 80s. I never opened it, but I suspect that it was one of the fakes.

      It very well could be. Some of the cellophane jobs were not sealed exactly like originals.
