Fantastic piece and a great balance for Up. If you don’t know his music already, I think you’d really like Martin Butler. He has a brilliant trio of pieces called Preludes Inegales that I think you’d enjoy.
@@christophermortlockcomposer wow, these ARE brilliant; the harmonies in Chameleon have me goosebumps! Thanks for the recommendation, I’ll be looking up more of his work. Have you heard Yoshimatsu’s Fuzzy Bird Sonata for saxophone and piano? Part of Circuits reminded me of it, with the sections abruptly starting and stopping. Oh, and thank you!
@@bethanywakim6175 Glad you liked the Butler! If you haven't already, you should also check out his piece American Rounds (it's one of my favourites ever). I'll check of the Yoshimatsu! Thanks for the recommendation.
@@bethanywakim6175 I love that arrangement! I wish he’d written his own versions of all The Black Stallion music. :) I was actually friends with George Winston. He was the nicest and smartest person I’ve ever met. You might’ve heard he passed away last year.
@@bethanywakim6175 It always felt surreal talking to him. I’m also a pianist, and George was actually my teacher. I’ve released solo albums of original pieces I’ve written, and if you want me to, I can send TH-cam links to my music. No worries if you’re not interested.
Maybe it's part of the performance, I don't know but there is nothing wrong with that. The movement is connected to the music that she plays. Why are you judging so harshly by saying that is ridiculous?
Such beautiful harmonics bethany.
It's like a sweet forgotten nostalgic dream. Very beautiful melody, Bethany!
Thanks so much!
I love the calm and somehow mysterious atmosphere that is created throughout the entire piece.

A much needed moment of quietude and beauty.

This is so beautiful! Love the nods to Yoshimatsu. Subscribed and looking forward to hearing more from this set!

This is totally amazing. You remind me of the jazz and new-age pianist George Winston and composer Carlos Rafael Rivera, both geniuses, I think.

This set of pieces is really interesting! Should try on a felt piano...
I did a whole collection on felt! This one would work pretty well, probably, since it’s all pretty high register, and leaves a lot of space to ring.
Great!

Beautiful piece! How do you get such good sound quality for your recordings?
@@jadenfarquhar thanks so much! I use Pianoteq 7 for the sound and sync the audio with the video after recording.
What keyboard do you use?
@@leighthomp I play a Kawai digital piano but the sound is Pianoteq 7.
Is the “hands floating over the piano” thing really necessary?
Looks so dramatic and ridiculous.
