    It looks like this product is much more suited for calm flat waters than say the north atlantic in winter.

    I have just used this still water on my diorama. I added a thin layer of it over a shallow riverbed i had sculpted and painted with browns and greys acrylic paints. The still water acted more like a paint stripper than a textured paint. It caused all of the paint i had built up before hand to melt and mix and turned bright purple. I’ve just had to scrape all of the work i did off and have to redo it all again and now i still have to figure out what im going to use to create the model water because this stuff is corrosive and crap

    What would you recommend if you wanted to simulate a splattered puddle of water?? as in I dropped a glass of water into pavement??

      Hello! You can use our Still Water reference. Take product with a brush and then spray with air (and your airbrush) to the surfaces or floor. It will help :)

    What is the proper way to use Vallejo Game Colors? Bought a box and been painting with a paintbrush and the paints are too thick, if i use too little water it will harden fast and make globs and leave brush strokes, if i thin it too much it takes lots of layers to fully cover the object and it doesn't seem to be consistent. Do i need to also use thinner or flow enhancer besides water when painting with a brush? Also the smell is so potent i need to wear a mask. Got one Vallejo Game Air used for airbrush and that paint has a great consistency for paintbrush too.

      Hello! You can thin our paints with water or thinner. And also you must find the perfect consistency depending on your needs. About the smell, our paints are non toxic, waterbased and have no strong odors or solvants, check they are in perfect conditions when using them. :) And you can also use our Air ranges with brush but they are specially formulated for airbrush use so keep in mind they may not be very covering paints

      @@vallejocolors Hi thanks for responding, gotten used to thinning them since i posted and to the smell, i usually thin them to a milky consistency and do multiple layers but i see a lot of pros doing the base layer with an airbrush for a quick base coat.

    I just purchased still water that came in the Mud and Puddles pack...the still water is a solid gel and doesn't flow. Is this correct? Seems like from the video it should be fluid.

    • @vallejocolors
      @vallejocolors  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello LowNSlowIII! Definitely, that is not the texture of our Still Water. It's a gel but it shouldn't be a solid one. Perhaps, the product has lost some of its moisture and water content. Please, ask for a replacement in your store and let us know with an email the batch code so we can check if there are problems with the formula ✨ Thank you so much for letting us know!

    i just try to use it to paint models using vallejo air model and water color. So I found that the paint is very brittle. I try to coat it with lacquer clear gloss but not sure how long will it last.

    • @vallejocolors
      @vallejocolors  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Ray,
      Yes, you can apply a varnish in order to make it stronger. If you are using acrylic paints we recomend you to use an acrylic varnish. How was it gone with the lacquer?

    • @SpottedSharks

      once the water has dried, brush on a generous coat of glossy Modge Podge. Push the MP around by blowing through a straw or use an air brush.

      Buenos dias Jose Luis, gracias por tu comentario. Lamentablemente este video tiene 10 años de antiguedad. La unica manera de añadir subtitulos es hacer click en el boton de un cuadro blanco, al lado del engranaje, que ofrece TH-cam en el video, cerca de la linea de tiempo. Gracias y disculpa las molestias :)

    It's look like PVA(poly vinyl alcohol),which was mold release. I'm gonna try this technique with PVA first since I can't buy still water in my country.

    ...or you could use generic UV resin and get exactly the same effect in a few minutes without having to do three or four applications with 24 hours of drying time in between.

      Hello! Some people don't know how to use UV resin/products or don't want to waste money on a UV lamp for their tiny figures or dioramas. This is an easy option to avoit that :)

    • @polygonalmasonary

      UV resin at the finished depth of pouring is significantly more expensive and requires an expensive UV lamp to set the resin. This product is much easier and cheaper to use for beginners into the hobby.
