Haha I know. I tell him all the time he needs to show his talent. Those pics don’t do his work justice. I’m trying to get him to start his own channel….thats the goal
About the WATL handles. Sure there might be some thing about how hard and the multiples and possible your targets. I think they are throwing now from 12’,15’and or doing 1 1/2 rotation. They throwing at a flat target. They do have videos saying that they are hard to tear up but not with the Butcher and there top line axes. I’m glad you rehandled and retested. So I’m with you if I was to buy one I would just get a head and regardless. On the Dad axe I think what ever you guys come up with will be awesome. On the square handle gravity fit they look cool and an interesting concept. As for as sponsorship after watching you channel I trust your honesty and ethics, so you will make the right decision.
I actually saw a video today that came up in my recommended videos (which was strange haha) about them putting the was through an abuse test. I have it saved to watch later so I’ll have to get to that and see what it’s about. I appreciate your input and feedback. Thank you!
Another outstanding video, lots of information to take in on this one. Regarding the WATL axe handles, in my opinion, I think you are on the right path. Your reviews on ALL the axes you do are fair and honest across the board. Just one of the remarkable things I love about Midgard Axe. I personally do not have any experience with WATL axes. Unless they are marketed and sold as professional only axes, they should hold up. If anything, I would say being sold as World Axe Throwing League axes, they should hold up BETTER than most anything out there. I am looking forward to the new woodworking series with your father. A Helko Werk axe head might look good on that handle. No matter what direction you go with this project it will be amazing, I am sure! As for the sponsorships on the channel, you should do what works for YOU. Everything you do here is done with respect, honesty, integrity, dignity, and strong ethics. Have you ever heard the saying "Too many cooks spoil the soup"? The "soup" you are making now is outstanding! The content and videos you put out are all top shelf! Your efforts show and are appreciated. That takes a lot of time, hard work, and dedication. Thank you again for all the knowledge, tips, and tricks you take the time to share.
I’ve followed you because I have enjoyed your videos. I’m nowhere in the realm of ax knowledge as you. I’m nowhere in the realm of handling an ax as you can. With that said, I been loving and using axes all my life. I really wanna learn to throw axes at least a quarter as well as you can. For an honest review of this video, you lost your mojo on this one. I’m not sure how to explain it, I’m not a videographer either😁 I really look forward to your next vid. Keep strong my friend
I really started ahead of the curve with axe throwing by playing baseball almost my entire life. It was an easy transition for me to just grab an axe and start doing what I do. So I technically had a head start long ago. But I appreciate the comment. How did I lose my mojo on this one 😂. I use to do this type of videos all the time. They were called Midgard Axe News and Axe facts! Or are you referring to me talking about the WATL handles? I’m curios
I will say this. I’m not changing my assessment or opinion on what I’ve found unless someone can prove something different! I really just wanted your guys feedback and maybe some more info that I may not have!
Instead of doing the "how they threw this in the movies" you could do a how they do it in the video games. Plenty of video games have knife throwing scenes in them and I don't think anyone has done something like that
Great idea! And my boys will be able to give me some ideas to get going on that. Last thing I played was Destiny (Beyond Light) so I’m dated on my game play. Still miss grinding Crotas End for the gjallarhorn and running vault of glass for a god fate bringer! Fun times
I think your community likes your style. Personally if I wanted to watch competitive WATL stuff I'd watch that. But your style is enjoyable. Be you and you'll enjoy yourself more than modifying your content around what others think. Then that could lead to burn out. Have fun and make the people hafting the axes do it to a heavy throw standard and not cop out to a lesser quality saying "it's not meant for that" when the axes should be quality enough to hold up for more uses than a light duty piece of junk. Just my opinion.
Also good to see you getting involved with some quality companies. Those who have earned their shout outs for their work could benefit you by getting the sponsorships and give us the confidence of your endorsement from the partnership because you give honest reviews and not just peddle any junk someone wants to shoot your way.
@@homesteader1983agreed. Sometimes it’s hard when companies contact me because some look good in the pictures but when I see others comments I see the “real” product. I try and make the best decision up front and hope I made the right decision. I’m currently in a situation right now where I thought I was making a good decision but found out it wasn’t. I’ll explain soon. And I’ll show what I’m talking about. But when in these situations, I’ll just open and honest. I’m learning too! But you’re definitely right and I totally agree!
Wood is wood in my opinion. Those axe handles on the watl’s axes aren’t very different size wise than a lot of other axes. If you use good wood then the axe will work fine. When you haft your competition axes with light, dry wood then of course they aren’t gunna hold up to hard throws. Sorry for the late comment Wes. I must’ve missed this video coming out somehow !
The watl handles just suck Iooked at a bunch of watl handles at a throwing knife and axe shop and they even told me they don't recommend the watl handles even though they sell them all the handles I looked at were really dry and extremely light weight
Yeah I’m hearing the same thing from quite a few people. My original assessment could be right, like you’re saying now. I just wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing something before I continued down this road! And I wanted your guys opinion as well.
I'm glad you are putting your dad to work he is a good artist I have seen his work keep on doing what you do
Haha I know. I tell him all the time he needs to show his talent. Those pics don’t do his work justice. I’m trying to get him to start his own channel….thats the goal
Bringing everyone in on the action is a great idea! Thats how you start a community vän! Great idea
Thanks I appreciate that!
Awesome getting friends and family involved! Love it man!
Thanks! I always said if I ever got on social media I would keep it real and personable. Even if it’s just 100 people. I’ll take that all day!

I would like to see some axe reviews of axes from warriors axe throwing line.
Keep up the same. If it not good then it not good. We need to know. thanks you

Oh and you should put a keesteel washboard axe head on that Hoffman handle !! 😮
