If Gordon’s hand was so numb when he got back to the office he couldn’t hold a pen .. he needs a bike fitter .. not better grips, his weight is most likely too far forward, perhaps try moving your seat down and back Gordon. And Ergon grips CAN be safely rotated forward Gordon .. I’ve been successfully doing it on my Ergon GP2 grips on my hardtail MB for 18 years now .. plus I have the end horns for an alternate riding position.
@@deltafour1212 I use a close to 90% swept back dutch bar with aero bars on it. But this is with a footbrake so I don't have to keep my hands close to the brakes. I don't know how this translates to handbrakes in a city context.
there was a multiposition grip in the 90s i believe . maybe it was produced in 2000 too. ~~it was like a complete bar with bar ends. imagine this - to give you an idea of that. ~~you put on you bar 2 longer barends and place a second bar from the very end of the left bar end to the very end of the right bar end. ~~ im looking after that. found no pics by google multiposition etc. but i dont know its name. ~~~its very remarkable if you see it once. if someone knows it name please tell it to me.~~ and im not speaking of that multigrip bar wich is placed on several touring bikes wich gives you bad stabilytism .
Hi Ingo, we have something similar to what you're describing kicking around the office somewhere although they replace the entire bar rather than attaching to the existing one. Can't find then right now to take a pic but if we remember the name we'll post it. Great for adjustability and overall position but don't address the micro issues of hand/wrist posture except by the changes in torso/arm position. Anyway thanks for your interest and comments.
Can they be used with gripshift shifters? The locking part is on the inner, so I think it can be used with gripshift shifters. It might make the handlebar a little longer, but on my steel bike I would like them longer. On my new bike I have the Ergon GP5 and the handlebar is wider, which I've got to like it. It took me a long time to get used to the GR5 as they caused more numbness than my old foam round grips. These new Handalz make sense so I might not need all the extra positions of the GP5.

This problem is caused by the straight MTB bar. Never use those on a city/road bike.

I don't get why they don't innovate on the hadlebars, it could be so much more confortable...
can you add high density foam to as much of the surface area as possible ... after switching to foam, cannot go back to rubber
