- How do you snowblow a gravel driveway?
I have a gravel driveway. For too many winters, I have launched gravel onto my lawn using my snowblower. This year I found something called ARMORSkids. This video shows how armor skid snowblower skids can help reposition your snowblower to more safely snowblow a gravel driveway.

Two things,
1) I rented a plate compactor to compress the new gravel I put down.
2) I added ARMORSkids to my snowblower. They work great at keeping gravel out of the impeller by raising the auger housing a half inch or so off the gravel. Being a gravel driveway, that little layer of remaining snow doesn't concern me as much as gravel shooting across my yard. It is also relatively simple to shovel or sweep off if I really want to.
This video shows how we took off the old skids, and installed the new skids. Armor skids allow the snowblower to ride higher, and more smoothly handle the uneven gravel surface of the driveway.
It's an Ariens 926LE Snowblower. I believe it needs the 3 inch spacing skids. Just follow their guide to measure your bolt holes: snowblowerskids...

How do you mean?
My gravel is big rocks and very lose. I bought a snow plower for my zero turn and put PVC pipping on the bottom but it still kept digging the rocks into the snow. Will these dig to the ground?

They are reversible to extend the wear
They do look like they extend out on the top don't they. Never noticed that.

Only if a huge pile. But throws considerably less than before.
