Ah yes .Highly anticipated kit when first released. Combined a few of these with ESCI kits and the Tamiya T-62 ki back then. Can't even give any of these away for 5 bucks these days.

According to Scalemates, this kit has an interesting backstory. The tooling was produced in 1988 by Twentieth Century Imports, but wasn't released. A year later, Lindberg acquired the tooling, and brought it out under their label. Overall, it's a decent model of a T-55, but it's parts breakdown is kind of a 'throwback' to early armor kits; especially with its multipiece lower hull. The lack of figures is also a minus. But I do have one in my stash. My plan is to build it in a diorama setting (in the School of Shep Paine) with the classic Monogram M48A2 Patton, which first came out in 1958.
Had this T-55 kit been produced thirty years earlier, it would have had a much better run.
