    This looks like its going to be a very interesting series, I have just found it (December 2023) three years after the pandemic struck. So here`s to the rest of series!

    Delightful. I wanted to take hidden London tours when I was in London in December-no luck because of the holidays. But the exhibition was fab, I adored the museum, and I’ll see you on the other side of this for the real tours when I can come back. Thank you for this.

    Showing my age but I remember Strand Northern line, Trafalgar Square Bakerloo, and Charing Cross Circle, District, Northern and Bakerloo lines. This was back in the late 1950's.

    I've watched the most recent dozen or so episodes (as at Dev 2021) --- need to see how the gang has gelled, the dynamics have evolved into an actually superb content --- and the SOUND QUALITY improved no end. As with all of us getting used to Zoom-normal, we've learned how to present an interesting backdrop. Bless you guys!

    If you are introducing people to Leslie Green stations: Aldwych and Mornington Crescent. Aldwych still keeping the OE Otis lifts, albeit locked in place with thick steel beams.
    Apart from the low usage one of the closure reasons was the state of the lifts. Nowadays there's the requirement of level access for wheelchairs. Aldwych is best
    The Wm Holden stations just look fantastic. I love Art Deco. I watch a Tube driver's videos on the Piccadilly line. The approach to a station at night with the ticket-hall windows lit up.... Magnificent.

    Is it true that the Aldwich Branch of the Piccadilly Line was once proposed to go to Carshalton in Surrey? (London Borough of Sutton)
    I saw a Aldwich Video once where the tour guide said this?! It would have been great if it had!

    • @alexgrundon2346
      @alexgrundon2346 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well.... it was slated to go south. Waterloo was definite. Further than that will probably be popular folklore. The Piccadilly line is an amalgam of little private companies’ railways. I feel sorry for Aldwych. One big missed opportunity. But we have a beaut time capsule to enjoy. Enjoy the other episodes, yeah? X

    I spent a fortune on Moquette cushions last Christmas, I thought I was the only geek in the land with a love of it (and it's true, cats also love them!)...and did the Clapham shelter tour - exceptional, beautiful, haunting...LTM shopped till I dropped, Seat of London and Hidden London my night time reading, finally finished the latter last night and was overjoyed to say the least to find these videos here, they are superb, already watched four back to back tonight! Love these! x

    Re the Jubilee line plans connecting at Aldwych: Aren't there now plans, to possibly extend the DLR to the Jubilee platforms at Charing Cross? And if so: would, could or might that include an intermediate station at Aldwych?
