My local JVC online store still sells this and the wooden headphones. Well, there goes my money.
RIP your wallet 💔
Are you from Malaysia?
I saw that HA-MX100-Z is still available on Shopee's JVC Malaysia store.
I was able to get a used set in very good condition. Absolutely love these.
They currently are manufactured by Victor in Japan with "His Master's Voice" logo as 100V. A must just for the logo and 'made in Japan' for any collector....😊
Actually, the MX10-B, MX-100-Z and MX-100V are all tuned differently!
It looks like the 100V is the most 'mid-centric' of the three, but that's only based on some obscure reviews and a single FR graph that I could find.
The HA-MX100V, just like it's predecessors are "Made in China" btw.
I have the MX100V and I can attest to that!

Love to see the V7
Thanks for this one. I agree with your excellent assessment.
I keep on watching this again and again.
Thanks for helping the algorithm :P
❤
The only downside of Edifier earpads is so difficult to install to the point that I might break the internal frame of the earpads!
Plus, a little bit of OT and sort of PSA:
If anyone had planned to use it for Sony MDR-V6/7506/CD900ST, then I'd strongly suggest that NEVER, EVER DO IT as it destroys the Urethane ring that surrounds the driver of those "cans"!
I've tested it on my CD900ST, carefully install it and when I take the pads off, it obliterate the Urethane ring so I have to replace it!!
🤦♂️
Are those actually better than a Beyerdynamic DT 880 Pro or a Shure SRH840A?
I normally prefer super neutral headphones.
I'll start my comment by saying my description of these as 'the best' was a bit tongue-in-cheek.
I truthfully do not believe any headphone can be 'the best', nor will there ever be a 'best' headphone.
Regarding DT880, that's an open-back headphone.
My review was about closed-back studio monitors.
That said, the DT880 600 ohm is absolutely stellar and extremely neutral, and easily punches way above any headphone mentioned in the video.
I don't remember enjoying the Pro 250 ohm version quite as much.
I would rank the DT800 600 ohm in the same leauge as the Hifiman HE-500 and DT1990 Pro.
The only other extremely neutral headphone around is the AKG K612 Pro - but it just sounds boring as hell XD - but an excellent studio tool.
I have not heard the SRH840A, but I did own the SRH840.
The 840 had too much of a strong v-shape siganture which was good if you wanted to 'put a microscope' on the extreme low and upper frequencies, but it was not a natural sound.
Upper treble was especially forward and piercing at times.
The emphasis on treble, combined with a 100hz bass-hump is great for enjoying electronic music, but not good for mastering.
From what I've read online, the 840A is a bit different, but most of the tonal character remains the same.
I hope that helps.
Welp, I need to get one now~
You mean you need to get one YESTERDAY... as the saying goes :)
