@@steveslam666 I’m aware of that: one day I stumbled upon the upcoming release of The Abyss and decided I could spare the 10 minutes of waiting. I liked it, didn’t listen to the album though (yet).
When Scofield rises from his stool his soul emerges and he is ageless and timeless, his body taken over by the groove and his fingers flowing, expressing his creative core. Great band, great feel, and Louis Cole!
I saw an amazing example of this in 2007 with Dave Brubeck before he passed. Dude could barely walk, had to be helped up to the stage. Once he started playing the piano he looked like he was 20 years old again.
For years now, Louis Cole and MonoNeon have been my pathfinders -- whoever they play with, are worth listening to and checking out. Them playing together now has been just a musical dream come true!
Back in the day the algorithm really wanted me to listen to LC, and so I, not wanting a computer to calculate my taste, decided I would despise him instead. This went on for many months, until this song came out, and naturally I had to listen to it. When I did, my favorite part was that lefty drummer that was going off, and long story short, he is now an all time favorite of mine. When I had the chance to meet him not too long ago, I told him that exact story, and he said it all went according to plan. I appreciate this songs immense reverse psychological capabilities
As a drummer and guitar player, I love Louis Cole, and John Scofield is one of my main influences. I also think that Casiopea RULES by the way (Minoru Mukaiya = insane keyboardist). In fact... why not invite Minoru Mukaiya to Knower?
Reminds me so much of very early Level 42 when they were a progressive jazz / fusion band - this music will always have appeal no matter the generation.
Mastery, fire, passion, musicality, genius! Louis Cole I think was sitting in. Why? There are other video's of this show with another wonderful drummer. Check it out, especially to understand the depth and power of Louis Cole's drumming, right up there with the grooviest of'em all! And. . . left-handed playing on a right-handed kit!
He always play this way... fascinating of course. I learned to open my hands myself, it's phenomenal the possibilities. I have genuinely no good reason to teach anyone to close their hands over to play... none. Dunno where that comes from anyways?!
It's a golden age folks... golden age.... that thing where John Scofield blazes an iconic solo on a track called "Louis Cole Sucks"! It's unbelievable really.
Mono and Sco yes, the drumming and organ aren't good. The drumming is constantly just like a bunch of balls being dropped out of a gym bag on the floor, there is no lightness to the touch or flourishes, it's just straight thud thud thud. Organ made facial expressions for trivial cliched riffs. The others should not be on the stage with Scofield and Mono.
I LOVE how egoless Ryan Lerman is. Holy crap. He is so good at giving everybody else the spotlight... but I always feel like HE'S the guy running the show. The MASTER. Great video!
I had a pair of trousers A merry shade of green I wore them in the Summertime And kept them bright and clean. Now Autumn is upon us My pants are turning gold And soon they’ll fall and blow away To leave me bare and cold. (Michael Leunig)

Who will be in the touring lineup? Will Louis Cole, John Scofield & MonoNeon all be at the SF and Menlo Park shows?
Come to Helsinki!
this song was written to restore balance to the universe after Thundercat's "I Love Louis Cole"

@@JB33210 fourth? :)
@@doroundmatt No, Third. This is the "equal and opposite reaction" part of the 3rd law.
"lol is that john scofield? .....oh my god it is."
Idk why it's so funny he is playing with all the kids, but it's awesome
Sadly many of his peers are no longer with us. Fortunately there is lots of young talent he can still play with
That’s literally what I thought
World class musicians with an alien from outer bass
😂👏🏽
😭😂😂😂
well i may be a year late but i must say it couldn' be put more succinctly i actually loughed out not so loud but from right down there
Luis Cole and MonoNeon are pretty much the hardest hitting rhythm section I can think of. I could listen for days to just these two doing their thing.
I agree. For sure.
Gotta listen to the new KNOWER album if you haven’t! MonoNeon features on bass on a few tracks and it’s so tight
Look up evan marian and dana hawkins
I love Louis, but believe me, there is drummers way meaner than him as Funk's drumming goes.

Agreed. There is something synergistic when those two are together
Mono appears more energised with Louis Cole than with Ghost Note...
Scofield takes another iconic solo!!!!!!!!!! And so does Goldings!!!
Had me at Louis Cole and MonoNeon. How am I just discovering this project? Shoutout Jack Conte too

Love watching Scofield go to work
Scary, Mono, Scofield, Cole & Goldings!!! Our new supergroup. Long live SMSCG!
That sounds like the abbreviation for some kind of IT security compliance
@@adamwhitford2177 IT Security Compliance should just be the name. Louis Cole and MonoNeon, amazing!
adding scofield to this really turned it into a cassiopea type thing

My goodness , it is so good as it is already.. but how the sun breaks through when Sco‘s solo comes up takes it to another level..❤️
MonoNeon makes that look effortless. What a beast.
Louis Cole AND John Scofield. Blimey. A millions suns just melted in joy.
That bass is like a runaway train without a driver! Nothing gonna stop it! #comingthru
Damn - that rhythm section is a train of a ride and I’m right up infront with Captain Cole - totally rocking 💯
Such timing comes from sleeping with a metronome.

How does Louis Cole do all that without legs?!
who needs legs when you have shagginess..
Easy : galloping bass
Took me a while, but yes 😂
He is just ghillie suited for the drums.
With his sharpshooting drum skills of course
Man ! what a drummer that guy is . Every time I hear him play ...
