Thanks for the video man, love the tank! I do have a question, Can you make these lights like completely blue or dark purple for a night mode? I like to turn my tanks down to a dark blue/moon light color late at night for a little bit before shutting lights completely off.
i have these too, i've had them for about 6 months now and theyre great. and i agree, for some reason there isn't a lot of presence of this in peoples freshwater aquarium; i think its because this brand is primarily a reef brand and this was just a little side project for them.
@@dynasty4166 Had mine for about 6 years, and its so hard to find preset info for them. I encourage you to go to the planted tank forum, where a group of us have shared what we use.
Of course, you can. Just expect the spectrum to be shifted towards the blue instead of white. I'd say the reef version would make a great light for a rock scape with African and South American cichlids in particular. The great thing about the light is how customizable it is in terms of colors.
I was looking at these lights then discovered the eco tech XR15 but at £399 plus an extra £99 for the stand, also I need 3 of these. I can't justify the £1500. So I'm going for the AI. Hoping the updated version is a little more reliable as the online reviews aren't great but willing to give them a go on my 60x24x24.
Do you think one of these would be enough for a 36 in x 25 x24 90 gallon? By what I've seen, the PAR at a 24 in depth is pretty good with one but curious as to what you've experienced
Yea AI and TMC make the best LEDs from what I have seen. AI has a better user interface, but TMC has the actual best diodes and drivers. They actually have the patents with Osram and Cree to make LEDs that are actually for aquariums.
Nice video, thanks for putting out some info on these, there really isn't much on TH-cam about the freshwater versions of this light. I just got one of the AI Prime 16HD's to play around with during quarantine. It's a great light, like you said I don't know why more people don't use them. Have you played around with the moonlight yet, that was the setting that I liked a lot more than I thought I would since it's an actual white moonlight and not a super blue one like most companies use. I have my light over a 60cm long nano tank that is in my living room area so I really like having the low subtle moonlight on in the evenings.
@@Damitsall No it does not have those settings. I honestly cant believe people actually use them on their tanks. Cant imagine my tank strobe flashing with lighting while we are all in the living room watching tv.
Not to be rude but that heater is such an eyesore. Most aquarium fish in the hobby can handle room temperatures, or if you really need a heater get one built into the canister like Oase or some Eheim Pro models. It's such a great triangular scape with nice glass lily pipes and all and then your eyes just straight goes to the heater.
Im not sure lumens isn't important in a planted tank. lumens is a measurement of how bright the light is, which has nothing to do growing plants par rating is the important one
@@fishtorque1125 Just got three black ones and the shimmer is amazing! I've never had this much control over my light settings so this is really nice. Mounting it with the ceiling mount was a pain though haha.
GREAT VIDEO. THANKS FOR TAKING THE TIME TO DO IT. DEFINITELY WANT TO BUY THESE LIGHTS BUT i WANT THE WIFI VERSION NOT THE BLUETOOTH.HAVING A HARD TIME FINDING THE OLD WIFI VERSION. DO HAVE A WEBSITE FOR WHERE YOU PURCHASED YOUR LIGHTS.

Hey guys! I’m needing some help! Can I use the AI PRIME HD REEF on my freshwater setup? I’m guessing so but I have no idea re the settings, any tips?
I'm pretty sure you can't

What plants are you growing easy plants? Medium or hard ?

Thank you for the information! You just saved me a great deal of money since I was going to go for a kessil
I should take commission 😂 kessil make great lights but i can't see how they can justify the price and they arn't controllable
Hi can someone share the colours please I have a planted tank mixed medium to easy plants thank you appreciated thanks
Hi could you send me your email please
Nice video. What size tank is this? Would this work over a 60p if it’s just one light?
This is 82 inches long I'd say it would be a push for a 60p I'd recommend wrgb from chihiros
What's the length of the flex mount, 12 or 18?
This is the 18 inch one but the arm isn't mounted on the tank its mounted on the wall behind at least 6 inches down from the top of the tank

Thanks mate it means alot. I have the freshwater prime HD so unfortunately i don't have the moon light setting 😔
Since you guys have them, do these LEDs have a storm mode? Can it simulate storms or cloud cover?

Finally, a good video! Hows the shimmer if the water is agitated? Is it similar to Kessil?
Not as strong as the kessils but very close 👌

Yes but no where near as much as a Kessil
