I am so happy that your mom has continued to love you even though you became something she didn’t know much about and showed her concern and learned and came to a better understanding of Islam. I might not be a member of one of the three major monotheistic religions but I have much more respect for Islam and Judaism than I do Christianity. I grew up as a Christian but I don’t like the negativity that many Christians show every other religion out there.
Wearing a hijab does not bother me I don't have any fear I was already a Target of hate in the United States because of the color of my skin being African-American so now they have two things to hate me for and I could really care less I will wear my hijab and I will wear it proudly the only thing I'm concerned about is pleasing Allah SWT
