Was thinking that white plastery stuff as you called it, is actually fire coral, which grows all over the reefs in the Florida keys. Also, to note fire coral will grow under your skin my dad's arms had issues with nodules under his skin for years. I was raised in Key Largo, my fatherr was a Dive Boat Captain & treasure hunter

I normally just drive down for the day! But this was for Spring Break so my friend’s hubby rented us a trailer in a retirement park, it was pretty cool! 😎

How far out do you go to snorkel? Just off shore or do you take a boat out?
We just walk in off the shore. 👍🏼
