I didn't know that Bob Clark directed this movie. Even though I was a baby when it came out, I did see it when I was at my Aunt's house .I think it was on HBO or the Movie Channel when I was 8. She would put scary movies on and told me not to tell my parents. Well, I remember that when Drive-ins were the thing, my first R rated movie was Alien. Since they couldn't get a baby sitter, my parents had no choice but to take me and I watched the whole thing when they thought I was sleeping. I was around 5 years old. I used to watch a lot of movies.
That is not the piano room from the movie. I'm a student at U of T, and the piano room used in the movie is Seeley Hall inside Trinity College (where I lived as a student). It's on the same campus, and a two minute walk away from Hart House. As you can see in the video, the windows don't quite match up. U of T has a lot of rooms with similar neo Gothic architecture, so i understand how this mistake could be made. But you totally need to go check out the real room in Trinity. it still looks exactly like it did from the movie.
Interesting - I kept looking for Seeley Hall and everyone kept directing me back to the Music Room at Hart House. The windows did seem odd. But will check out Seeley this week. Thanks! 🙏
