Isn't there a button to 'target champions only'? Haven't played league in a few years so I don't know how it's called exactly. I had it binded to spacebar. I think it's better to force yourself and have the muscle memory to use it than fucking up in the most crucial moment like a Swedish man we saw here.

Have you ever tried predator instead of phase rush? Since predator is an item active, it is still usable during death. I know it doesn't have the defensive value of phase rush, but maybe the ability to choose when it occurs makes up for it?
First Sion refuses to attack Gangplank and hits nexus instead and then he refuses to attack nexus. Riot tried really hard there to turn this into a loss.
