I love it, you know that stuff has happened in between seasons. I like that the throw characters at you without a ton of introductions, like here's another character watch them kick ass. If they're relevant you'll learn more when you need to.
The season where the OG members got their own arcs except Nightwing (All he got was a couple of mins in 1 episode doing his own thing before it went back to Conner/Phantom Zone business even tho it was kinda interesting).
But there was no time to fit that in this season. Nightwings most memorable storylines have yet to be come to fruition. If they ever utilize Red Hood, Damien, the Titans or Spyral....

It's easy to recap because it's just a series of random things that happen to random characters. The fact that none of it really connects in satisfying ways or creates any actual worthwhile narrative is on the show writers.
At first i was off put by the beginning episodes of this season but slowly began to see the pieces coming together. It was a good season and definitely felt like they didnt hold anything back
I started watching season 4 weekly right when it started airing but now I’m over a year behind with only a couple episodes left. This was really helpful to catch me back up.
Btw I learned this recently in the ep chameleon boy is related to the white martins (probably due evolution he looks different) but he says his home planet was Durla which is the same planet megan's brother was given from darkside by the end of the final ep
Nice to finally get Razer back, but I really hope it's not just a one off. Green Lantern may have only had the one season, but he and Aya had a great story that needs an actual continuation
Don't worry the creator reported it had the highest views out of a lot of streaming animated shows out of all the streaming services, that should be a good sign.

So I went to my local comic book shop today and saw they have a Young Justice book on the TV show. The big bad for the second Volume is Brainiac. I should have picked it up, lol.
I watched this season because I was pretty involved in the characters and stories from early seasons but man, too much time wasted on telling us things we already know. (yes, racism is bad, we get it) there were a few good moments and the action was pretty good but I felt too little time given to main story, which felt very rushed at the end. We were also hoping for some more Nightwing but he felt very secondary and pushed away as soon as he filled that one thing they needed him for. (And don't even get me started with the Garfield and Perdita arc, bleah) And poor Violet, reduced to a walking trope. the real shame is that there are a lot of loose threads I would love to see tied up but if the fans aren't into this season, who knows if we'll get another. wait and see I suppose but not holding my breath.
I mean, it makes sense for KWing to get so little time. There are more important things to focus on, like Muslim and Christian philosophy, condemning racism, and depression...in a CARTOON about SUPERHEROES. I don't mind a small aspect of relatability in superhero cartoons, but I don't like when the action sequences are more of an afterthought. If a viewer wants to watch a show about depression, watch 13 Reasons Why (actually not that show. At it's best, it's ironically funny. At it's worst, it's makes things worse). Anyway, I think you get my point.

Zor El didn't send her there. Listen to the dialogue. "The heroes who betrayed her." And remember, Zod said that it was a high chance that Jor-El purposefully chose Earth to send Kal-El to. What if Kara was sent before him? How else would Jor-El know about the yellow sun activating Kryptonian powers? I think Kara was sent to earth to see if it was habitable, especially if Jor-El was preparing for Krypton's destruction. She's old enough in this show to be independent. And what if the heroes who betrayed her decades ago were the JSA? And with time travel, many different ways of entering the Phantom Zone, and Doctor Fate as a lord of order. What if this was some extended plan by Vandal Savage, as he handpicked her from the Zone to give to Darkseid - He had to have known she was there or knew of her beforehand. The commonality between Mary as "betrayed by heroes" is too hard to dismiss.

This is the only season they have done this split arc thing and it made sense with how all the different members of the OG team are in different places after the years and how they come together to save Connor. Granted, some episodes did feel disconnected from the overall plot but it makes it authentic to the actual comic books where you have to go and read a tie-in or swap to a green lantern issue to understand why batman wants to get married.

It also behaves the same was as an event comic where it feels like the current events have halted the ongoing stories so now you're having to play catchup but with only the event comics rather than the full series. But it would explain why some writers prioritise things over others. For instance, how so much of the series was based around Beastboy's declining mental health over the death of Connor and his intervention with Black Canary... only to skip over most of the recovery process and not even have a moment where Connor and Garfield reunite.
Bruh this is one of the only comment sections and videos that absolutely despise the show. So many people loved it especially compared to most animated crap we get today and due to the fact it was trending. I loved this season and 1, 2 and yes even 3 personally I don't mind all the twists and can not wait for season 5
The 4-5 ep arcs was a terrible decision. Feels like there’s no connection between the characters throughout the whole show until the last arc, which is to rushed and they try to close every storyline in the last 2 eps. Such a mess. It was so disappointing, I was looking forward to seeing the og cast back in the focus, but they were disconnected the whole season
the only problem I had was it took way to long for the League to show up. I get they wanted it to be about the kids. Also the "It's all Darksides fault" is getting a bit old

Want to point out how stupid it is that Razor can somehow wear both the red and blue rings. Anyone who watched Green Lantern: The Animated Series (if there even is anyone else who did) should be aware that red lantern rings cannot function in the presence of blue lantern rings because hope negates rage. The one exception to this was when Razor became exceedingly enraged at seeing Aya hurt, where his rage overpowered hope's suppressive influence. So, the only way for Razor to somehow wear both rings and get powers from both would be to be so completely enraged out of his mind that he only sees red.

Young justice is such an unfocused show nowadays, and it stinks because seasons 1 and 2 were pretty tightly written. Season one established the team and characters that we would be following, and season 2 introduced new characters, and showed that the team itself were the main characters, not just robin, superboy, aqualad, and everyone else from the original team. Season 3 threw that away and barely focused on the team until an entirely new one was formed, and focused on a few new characters, only for season 4 to basically throw out the new characters aside from a few cameos and one episode, almost entirely ignore both the original team and the outsiders only to bring focus back to the original cast. I have no idea what young justice is even supposed to be about anymore. Even the light were all but ignored this season.
This was a letdown because they never realise that adding million of characters every season doesn't make the series better. It's better than season 3, but not better than season 1 nor 2. That and we lost a lot of time with unrelevant subplots.
They had time to do all these arcs but not time for Jason? I mean, there were more important things, like religious philosophy, gender stuff, racism, and depression. It's not like this is an animated superhero show. You know, something people watch kind of for a break from life. Honestly, with how this show has been doing, I doubt that when they finally pay off Jason, it will be that great. Especially compared to Under the Red Hood.

Letting them shine for an episode, especially characters who have popularity and are historically underutilized, is nothing new to popular DC shows. Don’t know what happened to this show. This show was trash this season. They need to get back to basics and fire whoever green lit this season. Bring back the writers from season 1 and 2.
Just finished watching season 4. While season 1 and 2 will forever be unsurpassed, season 4 is a worthy final season. A more narrow story and a focus on a smaller number of individual characters led to a huge improvement over season 3. However, the repeated not-so-subtle social commentary was distracting, and if I had heard the phrase “I need help…” one more time I might have actually turned off the show and came back later after a couple of cool off days. A mostly positive experience only occasionally marred, season 4 was thoroughly enjoyable.
Ending was good but I felt like the fight scene with the zods was rushed at least they have it a descent ending ...& Superboy didn't die after ...I miss kid flash ..
This season sucked. Less crappy than Outsiders, for sure. But it sucked. At this point, the only reason to continue watching is because you're one of those who people who must finish something you begin.
I say this as someone who enjoyed the original run, slept on S3 but finally watched this new season...they really should have dropped everything involving the Light and Apokolips after S1. I hear a lot that YJ is at its best in it's smaller moments with it's core cast, and I absolutely agree with that. But that kinda sells home how much of a drag it it whenever the macro plot has to rear itself, or whenever the show is forced to acknowledge anyone outside of the Team and their family and closest friends. If S4 was just about these mini-arcs featuring most of the original Team members, it would have been great in my book. But man, I could not begin to tell you how uninterested I am in Darkseid's impending invasion, or Vandal STILL being taken seriously in spite of all the Ls he has taken by now. Also, I can't help but be peeved with the fact that, because Boom Tubes have taken so much stock in YJ canon, especially with all things Krypton, it means that Clark has gone twenty years without ever knowing about Kara, and we're already skipping ahead with the Fury storyline, aka no one's favorite Supergirl story.
To be honest i actually like a lot of elements in the overarching story because they use so much of DC lore to make a really compelling and interesting world which makes me really happy to see. This is by far the most interesting Vandal Savage and Dark Seid have ever been for me, and it makes both of them feel like very interesting endgame villains with how much reach they all have. A lot of the smaller moments have felt a little forced and preachy to me in the newer seasons as well, like theres been solid emotional moments like in the Wedding arc and the New Genisis arc but nothings quite hit the same consistently like seaosn 1 did. Its nice to see other perspectives though, i havent seen much discussion about this new season which is a real shame.

Apokolipis has no purpose except a big invasion like it has been in all the other DC shows. We are done with that. Vandal Savage's thousand year plans are kind of unique for a DC show. Just think of him as a background villain.
I think anyone who cries and moans about less focus on the original core cast has baby brain. Let the show grow, find something to like about new characters and the ever expanding world being built. Vandal Savage has never really taken a substantial L if you’ve paid attention to half of season 4 or any other season. Being uninterested in Darkseids invasion is a you problem. Its a major part of the DC storyline in multiple universes. This was a more than solid season. The season 1 wank is out of control.
This season just dragged on and on. The only high point finally being the last handful of episodes. Its cool they addressed Gar's issues and stuff, but there was just so much happening to stay focused on a singular story.
While hollywoke is still around stop requesting sequels. These zealots can't manage anything outside of their skinsuits they puppet around hoping people will be dumb enough to think they are remotely close to anything genuine.

I was done when YJ started replacing all the good characters. This is a show that could've been great. Sad to see it end up like this.

Want to point out how stupid it is that Razor can somehow wear both the red and blue rings. Anyone who watched Green Lantern: The Animated Series (if there even is anyone else who did) should be aware that red lantern rings cannot function in the presence of blue lantern rings because hope negates rage. The one exception to this was when Razor became exceedingly enraged at seeing Aya hurt, where his rage overpowered hope's suppressive influence. So, the only way for Razor to somehow wear both rings and get powers from both would be to be so completely enraged out of his mind that he only sees red.

Young justice is such an unfocused show nowadays, and it stinks because seasons 1 and 2 were pretty tightly written. Season one established the team and characters that we would be following, and season 2 introduced new characters, and showed that the team itself were the main characters, not just robin, superboy, aqualad, and everyone else from the original team. Season 3 threw that away and barely focused on the team until an entirely new one was formed, and focused on a few new characters, only for season 4 to basically throw out the new characters aside from a few cameos and one episode, almost entirely ignore both the original team and the outsiders only to bring focus back to the original cast. I have no idea what young justice is even supposed to be about anymore. Even the light were all but ignored this season.
This was a letdown because they never realise that adding million of characters every season doesn't make the series better. It's better than season 3, but not better than season 1 nor 2. That and we lost a lot of time with unrelevant subplots.

They had time to do all these arcs but not time for Jason? I mean, there were more important things, like religious philosophy, gender stuff, racism, and depression. It's not like this is an animated superhero show. You know, something people watch kind of for a break from life. Honestly, with how this show has been doing, I doubt that when they finally pay off Jason, it will be that great. Especially compared to Under the Red Hood.

@@maldon3659 Right..? Its a big universe. There are a lot of characters. Letting them shine for an episode, especially characters who have popularity and are historically underutilized, is nothing new to popular DC shows.
There are a lot, but almost all are utilized well, or aren’t important enough to the current narrative to give anything more than an appearance.

Just finished watching season 4. While season 1 and 2 will forever be unsurpassed, season 4 is a worthy final season. A more narrow story and a focus on a smaller number of individual characters led to a huge improvement over season 3. However, the repeated not-so-subtle social commentary was distracting, and if I had heard the phrase “I need help…” one more time I might have actually turned off the show and came back later after a couple of cool off days.
A mostly positive experience only occasionally marred, season 4 was thoroughly enjoyable.
They should have focused on one arc. The political theme overlord , took centre stage from character and story as a whole.
So Mary's now evil because she almost killed her friends and they got angry at her?
It was suggested she has a hunger for power and maybe did some bad things in the past⚡
Ending was good but I felt like the fight scene with the zods was rushed at least they have it a descent ending ...& Superboy didn't die after ...I miss kid flash ..
This season sucked. Less crappy than Outsiders, for sure. But it sucked. At this point, the only reason to continue watching is because you're one of those who people who must finish something you begin.

I say this as someone who enjoyed the original run, slept on S3 but finally watched this new season...they really should have dropped everything involving the Light and Apokolips after S1. I hear a lot that YJ is at its best in it's smaller moments with it's core cast, and I absolutely agree with that. But that kinda sells home how much of a drag it it whenever the macro plot has to rear itself, or whenever the show is forced to acknowledge anyone outside of the Team and their family and closest friends. If S4 was just about these mini-arcs featuring most of the original Team members, it would have been great in my book. But man, I could not begin to tell you how uninterested I am in Darkseid's impending invasion, or Vandal STILL being taken seriously in spite of all the Ls he has taken by now. Also, I can't help but be peeved with the fact that, because Boom Tubes have taken so much stock in YJ canon, especially with all things Krypton, it means that Clark has gone twenty years without ever knowing about Kara, and we're already skipping ahead with the Fury storyline, aka no one's favorite Supergirl story.
To be honest i actually like a lot of elements in the overarching story because they use so much of DC lore to make a really compelling and interesting world which makes me really happy to see. This is by far the most interesting Vandal Savage and Dark Seid have ever been for me, and it makes both of them feel like very interesting endgame villains with how much reach they all have.
A lot of the smaller moments have felt a little forced and preachy to me in the newer seasons as well, like theres been solid emotional moments like in the Wedding arc and the New Genisis arc but nothings quite hit the same consistently like seaosn 1 did.
Its nice to see other perspectives though, i havent seen much discussion about this new season which is a real shame.

Apokolipis has no purpose except a big invasion like it has been in all the other DC shows. We are done with that. Vandal Savage's thousand year plans are kind of unique for a DC show. Just think of him as a background villain.
I think anyone who cries and moans about less focus on the original core cast has baby brain. Let the show grow, find something to like about new characters and the ever expanding world being built.
Vandal Savage has never really taken a substantial L if you’ve paid attention to half of season 4 or any other season. Being uninterested in Darkseids invasion is a you problem. Its a major part of the DC storyline in multiple universes.
This was a more than solid season. The season 1 wank is out of control.
I dont like how they made Vandal Savage connected to both Atlantis and Doctor Fate.

This season just dragged on and on. The only high point finally being the last handful of episodes. Its cool they addressed Gar's issues and stuff, but there was just so much happening to stay focused on a singular story.
While hollywoke is still around stop requesting sequels. These zealots can't manage anything outside of their skinsuits they puppet around hoping people will be dumb enough to think they are remotely close to anything genuine.
