As a Panamanian, I love seeing Santa Catalina videos. My dad was an championship surfer who went super often, we camped and it was so fun. I want to go back sooo bad!!!!
My favorite moment was at minute 13:45. The chicken kingdom and then the kids playing saying "hey señora" which means "hey ma'am". So cute. I loved your video. Thank you for visiting our country 🙂
I was in Santa Catalina to surf in 1995. It’s already blown up, lol. When I was there, it was just a couple huts. Coca Cola was 19 cents (US) and beer was 14 cents per bottle. We had to save money. A bus came in every couple of days. We also paddled out to the island and walked around it. If you do that, bring shoes. It’s sharp lava rock on the other side and it tore our feet apart. Tides are very extreme too. Glad to see it’s still relatively chill.
Transportation in the city is pretty decent, you can have real time schedule of buses and train in google. Unfortunately transportation to other towns are underdeveloped. Seeing how you enjoy makes me feel that I need to do more internal tourism.
I went to Santa Catalina for 4 days in October 2021 and it rained for 4 days straight without interruption so it’s nice to see a video of sunny days (apart from the last night)
1,000 potholes going 20 MPH for the last hour. Well worth it. Take the shuttle from Selina Casco Viejo. I stayed near the ATM which was very busy. Stay in the middle of the 2 beaches…. Town is very loud all night. Internet is very spotty so credit card machines lost connection a lot.
I surfed there just after Noriega was kicked out- it was super empty back then. One other gringo in town. Hi to David (Layo) if he is still around. - Mateo de Africa con la troca roja.
I have been looking for some destinations in Panama I can visit besides Panama City itself, but this place looks like an easy pass for me. I guess I am more interested in having modern things to do and a nice place to sleep, at least one that doesn't have leaky floors lol. Sorry that happened to you.
Just show the place and your recommendations. I don't know why you feel the need to show up in a place you've never been before and start having opinions on what's good and bad for it's future - you're there now, just get on with it.

Haha yes the kids were so cute!
They were yelling " do not record ¡¡Hey ma'am!!, don't record us!!" 😌 Which is fine, because they are little kids but....
As a panamanian I've never been to Santa Catalina, I will have to try it 🙂
You definitely should! :)
The view is so nice, thanks for sharing!
Tks.por tu trabajo. Así ayudas a las personas a conocer más destinos turísticos y variados y no solo; la capital...
That tree you passed is a mango tree. The only thing missing about that food was the fried plantain 😊

Thanks for the video! We are going to Santa Catalina for 4 days:) Your video helped me see what to expect. Did you have AC? Would no AC be a problem?
No just a fan :) it really depends on you, it is very hot after all
Not to be rude, but here in Panamá in the main cities you can get bus schedulles online and in google... maybe you didnt know, that
Really? :( I asked at my hotel and they told me that you cannot check schedule online! :(( Can you share the website?
