IF Gukesh Wins R13, Naka will be at must win, and no Matter what, Fabi will be out, cause all 3 results of Naka vs Gukesh keeps Fabi out of 1st place. Considering that, some might say that Fabi should play for win on R13 to have more control over his destiny BUT, the risks are too big to play for win with black against PRagg, so my guess is Fabi will just hope Gukesh doesn't win against Firouzja. So basically its all on Gukesh Vs Firouzja, If Gukesh wins, Naka and Nepo are in HUGE pressure, Caruana has no more chances so he will most likely play solid with white, and the results are simply incredibly hard to predict, anything can happen. If Gukesh Draws, i believe we are most likely heading to a 3 way tiebrek (or Nepo win because FAbi overpushes). now, for me, the most interesting result for R13 would be if Caruana wins and everyone else draw, cause R14 would be just complete chaos, the 4 leaders playing each other, and most likely heading to a 4 way tie. But is not likely to happen. Imo, the most likely outcome is 1-Gukesh Wins 2-Tiebreaks 3-Nepo wins 4-Naka Wins

I think hikaru-nepo has a great chance of being decisive. From Ian's perspective, he knows hikaru is the favorite in tiebreak. He also knows Gukesh has a great winning chance against Reza, which would put Gukesh as a solo leader. His chance of beating fabi with black is very low, for him to catch up. Amish’s take on Hikaru had a few holes in it. Saying Hikaru “wants” the rapid tie break is a bit strange. Is Hikaru confident of his chances in faster chess? Yes, very likely (although he did comment about how his bullet and blitz is much better than his rapid). But you know what Hikaru wants even more than a tiebreak? An outright win! Hikaru has the white prices that game after all. Second, in terms of Hikaru having no new opening moves as white, he played QA5+ early last game, which was out of nowhere for the analysts.
Anish is completely right. He said Hikaru wants tiebreaks assuming everyone draws in next round. In that case draw for Hikaru in last round means tiebreaks and loss means losing the event. When you go for win, you also risk losing so instead of risking Hikari will rather go for lines when he has small chance of pushing but not likely to backfire.
El favorito es Gukesh, creo que ganará claramente con blancas a Alireza y podrá sacar tablas ante Hikaru en la última ronda. Hoy veo a Nepo e Hikaru tablas y a Fabi con Rameshbabu empatando también.
In my opinion, Nepo really deserves the Win. Other players are good but Nepo really has an edge with his prep (except Fabi I suppose) and he is not wary of new lines. So he is not only a solid player but also creative one who can fight till the very end.
At first I was annoyed players like Wesley (my fav), Giri & Rapport didn't qualify for candidates... on the other hand different experience lvl in this tourey created an epic dynamic with drama we haven't seen in years in chess tbh... all storylines insane contender either a 17 yo, a 36 year old mega streamer, a dude who never gives up, or the only player who didnt lose to magnus in classical WC match... all players totally deserve it.
Guys we are 🤏 this close to witness the history and the history will repeat itself and Gukesh's name will be written with golden letters in the next generation's GK books.
I'm cheering for Nakamura, mainly because his TH-cam channel is fantastic, but it would also be exciting to see Gukesh become champion and bring a new energy to the game.
I think Gukesh is the favourite, followed by Hikaru. Cant see Nepo scoring more than one point in the next two games, which will not be enough. If Fabiano beats Pragg he might have a chance to tie for 1st, but I think it’s not likely.
Gukesh is surely going for a win against Alireza. Because if Nepo and Naka draw he takes the lead. Then in rd 14 Gukesh can draw and be in first, but Naka going to push for a win in rd 14 and then Nepo has to win against Fabi for tie break. And if Fabi pulls out 2 wins then kudos to him, then he deserves it, could still lead to tie break. Going to be interesting. Looking forward to it.

By experience on watching many chess tournaments, in these situations, the fear of losing overcomes the "wish to win", its human nature, so today on round 13 i predict:
Nepo - Hikaru : DRAW
PRagg-Caruana: DRAW (but maybe not)
Gukesh: Either Wins or draw, depending on Firouzja playstyle
IF Gukesh Draws R13, Then R14 Naka-Gukesh are almost guaranteed to draw, FAbi will be in a must-win situation, But Fabi on must win situations still play very sound chess, and Nepo gets very shaky when the opponent must Win and he just needs to draw (Wcc against Ding speaks for itself), then I predict Caruana wins and TIE Break between FABI, GUKESH and NAKA.
Imo, the most likely outcome is
1-Gukesh Wins
2-Tiebreaks
3-Nepo wins
4-Naka Wins

@aliensconfirmed3498 have you not been paying attention to what Hikaru has been saying?. If he has a chance he wants to win.
@@droyal18able yep, I agree. He said repeatedly that he would rather play exciting chess than “correct” chess.
Is there anyway to bet on chess matches? That would make the sport as popular as tennis and golf.
Gukesh vs Firouzja may will decide the Candidates.
It's going to be a bloodbath, few draws. Much more risky play expected and hopefully breathtaking games!
Very logical take! This makes so much sense
I personally wouldnt want tiebreaks for Gukesh, classical is his major strength.
Anyone from these 4 deserves it and have great storyline from Championship.
With black against Fabi, nobody asked Nepo what he wants 6:19
Anish considering everybody should make a draw …. 😂
😂
Kramnik looks way younger in this video.
Interesting
🤨
Where?
At first I was annoyed players like Wesley (my fav), Giri & Rapport didn't qualify for candidates... on the other hand different experience lvl in this tourey created an epic dynamic with drama we haven't seen in years in chess tbh... all storylines insane contender either a 17 yo, a 36 year old mega streamer, a dude who never gives up, or the only player who didnt lose to magnus in classical WC match... all players totally deserve it.
No participant (apart from Nepo) has ever lost a classical game against Magnus in a WC match ;) I understand what you mean ofc
My predictions: 1. Nepo. 2. Gukesh. 3. Naka.
It's going to be an exciting two days!
How the pairing of tie break will be decided if 4players ends in 1st pos?... and also for 3players how it happens??
It will be a round robin again, but only once this time
i.e everyone plays others only once
I think high chances for top 3 to be within tiebreaks , also gukesh winning chances increases if he wins against alireza
Gukesh will win candidates and also world championship. I am having this Devine feeling about it.
Here's an unhappy thought: all draws in 13, then in 14 Hikaru draws against Gukesh and Fabiano loses against Ian after pushing the must win too hard.
Anish making it up as he goes, as usual.
I think Anish might be wrong that Hikaru would want a rapid tie break. He recently stated that he thinks he is now better at classical than rapid.
My prediction also tilting towards Guki although rooting for Fabi 🖤!"
Very Shaky..... is too probably good ...... Nepo!
Мы все понимаем, что психика Яна это .... Но это работает в обе стороны.....
Gukesh will upset Hikaru. It's gonna be between Ian and Gukesh.
Nope
@@dethfr491 So, what about now? 🤣
What are the tiebreak rules? Is it just the top 2? What do they do if there are THREE people on equal points? ty
I think Gukesh is the favourite, followed by Hikaru. Cant see Nepo scoring more than one point in the next two games, which will not be enough. If Fabiano beats Pragg he might have a chance to tie for 1st, but I think it’s not likely.
Ian vs Naka has all the ingredients to be the game of the tournament!
Nepo has to produce an opening novelty to have a chance
Hikaru💪 must be the world championship
Nepo will win
all in for gukesh!
Anish is amazing 🙌
lesssssssss gooooooo Gukesh 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
If gukesh wins R13 he is favored, if he draws its Hikaru who has white in R14 and is heavily favored in the tie breaks.
after seeing anish’s predictions no one going to win😅😅😅
Let the deserving player win ❤!
In Brief: It's a brilliant candidates tournament!
Thambi Gukesh for the championship. He beats both.
Caruana or Hikaru. They can hold the nerves better than others. Gukesh also having chances. Ian may have last championship match back of his mind.
Anish is a top-10 player. He's the one we want to hear. No need for Sagar to keep interrupting him.
Gukesh for the win🎉❤
Gukesh plays Alireza and Hikaru, has the easy pairings... wild af
It's easier than the other 3
Excellent analysis!
Where is full video?
Аниш! Наш! Питерский❤
Things are poised so tantalizingly!
In long run analysis Gukesh has the least chance to win a tiebreak game of rapid. The other 3 players are essentially great at rapid.
Gukesh or Nepo will win this for sure
Gukesh has the best shot out of the leaders.
Can he overcome his trauma?
He had 40 mins vs Alireza 5 mins
But he blundered under pressure and lost
It isnt easy to overcome the trauma
Look at how Hikaru lost again to Vidit
Etc
@@dereknichols4376 overcoming setbacks is what champions need to go through. Its not supposed to be easy or a smooth journey. Time will tell.
