If you would like a real treat...the next time you are in Boone continue on 421 for 23 miles to Mountain City Tn. and stop at Mike's BBQ on the right. This place has the best BBQ sandwich on the East coast. Those are big words but I have eaten many BBQ sandwiches through the decades and they are simply the best. Be sure to order with NO SLAW. Enjoy.....

Boones downtown is too crowded no parking! My husband likes how they have the Fire Station built into the downtown area
I like that fire station as well. Parking is definitely an issue when it gets crowded.
