Ngl I went into this season thinking it'll just be Joe being the same person again and while his actions don't completely abandon him I was so pleasantly surprised to see that the season was formulated as a who-done-it and so far I am hooked. Great job Penn and the whole You team!
I love how it is different from the previous seasons it makes it less predictable and more exciting for me (although my suspicions were confirmed) . Can't wait for part too.

I'm glad somebody finally brought up how weird it is that part of acting can involve kissing and almost having sex with people who aren't your partner. 😮
My theory is that rhys isn't the killer and Joe is ,it's all in his head and if you watch the series you'll realise that rhys does not interact with anyone else but Joe showing he isn't actually there .rhys actually exists but he doesn't even know who Joe is.
I like this direction that this show is going,The whole murder mystery that it played out was done pretty well,Penns acting and performance was so refreshing and the way they set up part 2,it makes u route for joe but wat else is new lol
I don’t think Love is coming back, but I sure do miss her! Would love to see Ellie comeback soon.

Thank you so much for this! I sincerely wondered why there was way fewer intimacy scenes this season, and fully clothed to boot. That was a vulnerable, honest, and thoughtful conversation, and an important reminder for us to respect one another’s boundaries. Also I’m so jelly that Nava and Sophie have already seen part 2 😊.

I was so convinced Love was coming back that I didn’t even bother stressing which of the rich people were the killer because I SWORE it was just Love
I was really happy that there was a change for this season, as much as i liked the other seasons, i was happy for a change and was interesting to kind of be rooting for Joe, as he seemed to try to become a better person. so excited for part 2!

That he comes across as this more prim and proper professor now in London is indeed a welcome change from the prior seasons. And I fully approve of his desire to not get so bogged down in a solely romantic role. That is very savvy action for any actor.

Im excited to see how rhy & joe go head to head against eachother in prt 2.
However, the passion and the fact he started to be honest and tell the truth to his love interest is very interesting vibe that i want to know why thats happened too.
I woke up at 2am when it got released so that I could watch all five episodes before I went to work. Finished all five with thirty minutes to spare before I had to leave. Was soooooooooo good and it was a nice change. Great work Penn!
I think alongside with "Eat the Rich" the general idea and prompt is about redemption, especially if it's even possible for someone as cruel and self-unaware as Joe Goldberg.

I love this season so much! Having the 'YOU' be an intriguing mystery as opposed to the usual obsession was awesome. I'm not a binger-er, but I of course binged this :) Love it!

I am glad part 2 will clear up some of the plot. I personally didn’t feel a chemistry between kate & joe, like he wasn’t exactly obsessing over her like we’ve seen. It felt more obligatory, because he was being black-mailed, and not genuinely obsessing per-say. Also Kate’s reacting to Gemma being slain didn’t carry well for me, I mean she’s not a sociopath, just emotionally contained. So it just didn’t feel like a natural response. But I can see how that helps maintain the illusion of the actual killer as a plot device.
You mean, Joe is actually emotionally connecting to somebody for real and it isn't an obsession? It's the most interesting part of what they're currently doing. Showing the flaw is his perception of "love" itself. The initial lack of chemistry feeds right into that.
@@Anxsighety Joe isn’t capable of “love” we clearly know this, because when he was with love he started obsessing over his neighbor, and then Marianne. Joe’s problematic attachment stems from the rejection of his mother, so he chases delusions, and so once he actually gets who he wants it becomes “boring” so he chases his next obsession. This season he’s trying to detach himself entirely from obsessing and simply escape his past. The only reason he engaged with kate was because he didn’t want to be caught.
The new season is great. I've loved Charlotte Ritchie since Fresh Meat so was so excited to see her in the new season. Can't wait for part 2!!

Love this episode, I was dying when Penn was doing the British accent. A question for Nava and Sophie, what is it like seeing your friend play such an intense character that is so separate from Penn. Are you able to immerse yourself into the show or do you just see Penn?
I weirdly am able to separate it and enjoy it as a viewer! But I’m more anxious about how the show will be received than any other show 😅
I never found it to be about love, I think season 1-4 are all about obsession

Love isn’t coming back she’s dead. I think that 1 sec clip of her is probably joes inner thoughts… but I really like this season is diff less predictable for joes character I would say we’re seeing another side of him in a diff situation because this time someone is trying to kill him that’s equally smart like him. I’m really excited for part 2. I don’t get how some people don’t like the season so far, maybe because it’s a new story and it’s still the beginning?
Feels less obsessive this season and not focused on Joe much at all in the sense it's all about ther Rhys almost getting 'in the way' of the plot. There isn't a 'love' interest this season either I would say, it's like Joe half wants to like Kate out of it being his deafult to be obessive but his heart isn't in it anymore - I cant tell what his motivation is this season outside of the mysertious messenger - if Rhys wasn't there, what would Joe be doing. I wonder if there will be a season 5 and if it will just be about Joe on the run and move even further away from the shows 1-3 origin.
Omg I would’ve LOVED to be a writer for YOU because I would’ve brought Love’s mom back & had her play some sort of role in the killings, trying to get revenge from Joe to avenge Love/Forty lol. I totally get the point being made about how much intimacy needs to play a part or not in shows…but I hope “Jim & Pam kissed once in 8ssns” was an exaggeration… They kiss during the Dundie awards at Chili’s, they kiss after Casino Night, they kiss on their wedding day, they kiss during Jim’s propsal…those are just off the top of my head, I’m certain there’s more.
I’m thinking that Joe has lost his mind bottling up his desires and after everything with Marienne, he developed an imaginary friend in the form of Rhys. So far, the only time we’ve seen Rhys interact with someone other than Joe has been with the announcement of his political campaign, and even then, I’m not sure that’s accurate. He’s just too convenient.

*SPOILER ALERT* speaking on the basement fire thing, once Joe realized Reece was a figment of his imagination.. I wish they would touched on how that actually played out. Did Joe put himself in chains and set the basement on fire to make it seem as if he was innocent? Typical Joe but I wish they would’ve explained how that went in the show
When Joe starts to remember fragments of what happened exactly, there is a scene that shows him lightning on fire the place and then cuffing himself. It’s just a few seconds, so it’s easy to miss, but it’s there. :)

Joe didnt kill enough people this season for me 😭 I enjoyed the suspense, a lot of the new characters are unlikeable and annoying though ESPECIALLY Kate.

Although romantic scenes can adrenaline spike one’s viewing experience and can be necessary to demonstrate motive and chemistry between characters, they’ve often been used more gratuitously. I love that comparison to The Office’s Jim and Pam; they were able to show their passion for one another without sex scenes. Good for you, Penn. It seems you want to be seen as more than a sex symbol.
I noticed Joe’s monologue voice this season is raspier whereas in previous seasons, tantalizing. I like this choice because it shows Joe’s exhaustion in his journey and makes him less alluring. Viewers should not admire this murderer like most have been. Even though stalking was his “super power” this season, I really hope people don’t identify with that. 🙅🏻♀️gross
“You” always shines in Joe’s wit, one-liners, and his twisted sense of justice. Despite Joe’s willingness to murder, there is a bit of honor in him and how he defends others. I’m curious to see in season four’s part two how this theme of the “lesser of two evils” plays out. 👏🏼Let’s👏🏼go!
