I am into month 3 of budgeting, and as predicted things have cropped up to try to throw me off course. If I had tried to budget any other way they would have. But I can say that although I have only been able to save $250 towards an emergency fund, I have not incurred any new debt. I never have cash left over from my envelopes (I live in a very expensive city) HOWEVER I have started to sell things on FB Marketplace, opened a small home business, taken books to the second hand book store, etc. Thanks Miko, it is difficult to start. But I have high expectations that debt repayment will begin in July once the EF is funded. You are a blessing, you really are!
I’ve been watching so many budgeting videos and just wanted to say thank you you are the first to actually break down and explain everything and I cannot wait to get started on a better lifestyle by budgeting
I was just going to say the same thing! It's so much easier to grasp the CE concept wth real numbers. Mika, we so appreciate your transparency and enthusiasm!
Miko, very excited with the idea that I am ready to start May with a budget in place. My envelopes ready, my categories, my numbers written down and here we go! For the first time since I have been trying to set a budget I did not hiperventilate! The money was there, is just that I did not know where it go. Thank you!
Your videos and the cash envelope system have changed my life! I was able to pay $1,000.00 towards my student loan debt, and I still have money in my checking account! It feels so good to be able to pay cash for items I am buying! But I need this book! I wish I could have bought one when you launched! Thanks again for making great videos for all of us!
I love your budgeting method! I always budgeted my fixed costs paycheck to paycheck. However, it never occurred to me to count the other variable expenses. Tracking those will help me to increase my savings and debt payments. Keep up the great work. Love the channel
I'm less than 2 minutes in and I have 2 things to say.......1) Gurl, u tellin tooooo much of your timei in and out of the home...that's super dangerous. be more aware. 2.) Kudos for your budgeting! I like it.
I'm so excited to start my debt free journey with your plans! I have a small cc debt and I'm tired of not being Abel to pay it off, and run out of money every month :/ I really hope I can get organized with your worksheets and become debt free!
Hi Miko I am enjoying writing in my budget workbook that I purchased from you (the budget mom) recently,. Also, I love watching your videos which inspire me in my budget journey. Also, I am enjoying the free envelopes , the same as in your video; that I printed out as a freebie. 🥰❤️🥰❤️🥰❤️
Hey I’ve started my debt free journey on August I’ve been doing well and even found it inspiring do document it all on a vlog but then I’ve became a mom and I’m a single mom by choice and it was such a shock for me and I had to teach my self how to budget for two and only recently I’ve got the hang of it. Sad to say I fell of the wagon few times didn’t have the energy to follow through my budget. What helped me get back on track was your inspiring vlogs which I’m thankful for. What did you do differently budget wise when you became a mom?
Andrea Davis yes! I wonder if she knows about that. I have it and it’s great! My sister was paying for Hulu and I had her cancel it because I was already paying for Spotify
Do you ever take the sinking fun envelopes and exchange the smaller bills for larger ones? Example you have $50 worth of various bills in the envelope, you pull that out and exchange it for a $50 bill.
You decide how much u need for that specific fund and divide by how many months you think you will need. For example if you want to have your birthday fund at 100 dollars and you have 5 months to do it then for the next 5 months you would save 20 dollars a month until u hit your goal amount. Hope that makes sense
Hello, how you plan the Travel for New-York 🗽 ? How mutch save you ? How time before ? Thank you. I will going to New York and that help me to know how i can succed🗽❤️
What a great breakdown! But what about retirement savings and savings for medical emergencies? I saw that you have health insurance but that usually doesn't cover the full cost of medical issues in the US. Even a copay when going to the doctor.
Is it a 2 bedroom 2 bath $850 apt? Hardwood/carpet/granite? How are the utilities? Can you make a video on apartment hunting on a budget? Like picking out which amenities are necessary/are within the budgeted rent+utilities? Thanks!
I'm loving your budget protocol. Two questions: I've never seen you with a miscellaneous cash envelope, although you do mention it in other vids. How much do you allocate for miscellaneous? Also, what is the examples for your "fun" cash envelope? Thanks much.
This is kind of an unrelated question but what gel polish do you use? Trying to save some money by cutting back on beauty/beauty maintenance by doing my own nails...
Hey I was wondering when you will be selling the printed version of your book I am new at budgeting and witch a lot of your videos I really wanted the book
This is so motivating! My family of 5 need to do this badly, just don’t know how to dive in! My husband is the only one that works, he gets paid every Friday. How would you do a weekly budget like this???
What if you just don’t have extra money to budget for fun/miscellaneous or savings? My second check of the month is always eaten up from bills, food and gas. Maybe I should pay a few more bills with my first check since that one I usually have more leftover.
Lydia Hill you should split your bills in smaller amounts instead of paying one big bill with your check. My car payment is $303.69 a month but I pay $75 each week and pay it off until the day it’s due. I get paid weekly, so that how i do it. If you get paid bi-weekly then split your bills in half
As long as you have over 250 to 500 dollars of direct deposit coming to your account monthly, you won't be charged with fees. I rarely use my debit card and I don't keep any money in checking.
@@yevheniimelnyk8911 I get a check every weeks and that money is gone from the checking account before the next pay check by automatically transferring money to online savings account, brokerage accounts and paying of credit card balances. I don't really use cash, but I use credit cards for most of my purchases.
missahill09 I get paid weekly and I always budget each paycheck every Friday. I have a calendar and I write down all the bills that I have and pay them accordingly. One thing that I do that is helpful is I split my bills in smaller amounts to make them easier to pay. For example, my car note is $303.69 a month but instead of paying that large amount out of one paycheck (which sucks) I divide by 4 weeks and pay $75 each paycheck to pay for my bills.
Can you zoom into your calendar 📆 so we can see more clearly. It’s a little hard to see. Usually people zoom in their calendar so we can see it more clearly.
As I remember. I think my father just put it towards the next month budget in this case the example is food. Less he has to worry about. But would also agree that if a debt needs to be knocked down 20 may not be a lot 10 can get you gas and more towards your food. Thank you all. I am still struggling as a caregiver my last pay check was Feb 14
ivy Stanage yes she made the pages but how did she get it inside the ringed book. You can buy it and print it out yourself. I want to know where she got her ringed book.
Cynthia Lemoine you should! That way the money is there when you need it and don’t have to go into more debt when these things come up, or won’t be struggling to come up with the money

I’m so impressed on how you are so organized.. thank you

I just want to thank you for sharing actual numbers. I am just starting budgeting and I am learning from you so much. Thank you for what you do. 🤗

This video is great. I have forgotten that I used to do the envelope system, I should do that again. Thank you, thank you!

You should do a day in your life video. Like how you work and how you do your budget and meal planning.

Does this workbook for well in a binder?
I see it has holes like it could go in a three ring binder. Has anyone tried this??

Spotify Premium now comes with the basic Hulu at no extra! Wasn't sure if you were aware of that :)

Awesome video. I fell off the wagon. But I do hope to be back on it real soon.

Does anyone else notice how big her coffee cup is. Like where did she get? it I need it !
Do you ever take the sinking fun envelopes and exchange the smaller bills for larger ones? Example you have $50 worth of various bills in the envelope, you pull that out and exchange it for a $50 bill.
I don't see any retirement or 401 budgeted. Is it taken out of your paycheck? I don't see electric bill or gas heat or oil heat.
I love your videos so much❣️ they make me so happy 😊
When will your budget book be available?
Where in Washington do you live? I can’t find any place even close to that cheap. I live in Wa too! I love your channel! You are such an inspiration!
I am working on my January. Budget
How do you decide how much to put in each sinking fund? Do you have a video on what you use your miscellaneous money for?what about medical?

Where did you get your budget calendar
I think I need to move to Washington.. I live in Sonoma county and my rent is ridiculous.
Thank you for sharing, where did you get your calendar from
Working with your cash envelopes how do you handle stores that you get things that would come out of different envelopes.
Does that mean you shoulder every expenses on your household?
Hey I was wondering when you will be selling the printed version of your book I am new at budgeting and witch a lot of your videos I really wanted the book
How do you know how much to put into envelopes? I get so confused
What do you use your house envelope for? I'm just starting out.

How do you avoid bank fees? Often times they require a certain amount of card swipes per month.
@@thebudgetmom So do you just eat the fees? Just curious how to avoid them with your system.

Where can I get that budget book or journal what ever is called first time watching your video it was suggested and I really liked the video
Where did you get your budget binder? This is so impressive!!
Hey beautiful!!!! Loved the video 🤗
Where do you get the month dividers for your work book?
When will your workbook be back in stock?

So if you have $ left from cash envelopes at the end of the month what do you do with that money?
In the video she said she added it to her house savings
Will you be restocking the bound planners?
When you are tracking your expenses do you count your actual bills paid on your expense tracker? THANK YOU!
Hey quick question which budget planner are you using
I like this
Can you zoom into your calendar 📆 so we can see more clearly. It’s a little hard to see.
Usually people zoom in their calendar so we can see it more clearly.
Dang I wish my rent was that low >.< we are at $1103 in Los Angeles for a studio!
Can you order a planner with all your budget sheets
She sells them on her shop. Check it out
Nice video but I couldn’t finish because of the camera moving! I do recommend a stabilizer for your camera. The shaking is very annoying😭. Tfs
When you have money left over in April for example in the Month April in your Food envelope let say 10.0 what would you do with that money towards May
Pay it to debt or use it as a reward for hitting a target. You also can just roll it to the next month and add less to your food envelope.
As I remember. I think my father just put it towards the next month budget in this case the example is food. Less he has to worry about. But would also agree that if a debt needs to be knocked down 20 may not be a lot 10 can get you gas and more towards your food. Thank you all. chanellergful you plan with the least amount you expect to get. Like the least amount of paycheck you’ve received
Make sense?
How did you get your workbook on a workbook like that?
