My membership card was No.42. I saw many bands at Walton Road before it moved to the Borough Assembly Rooms, the old Grosvenor. I left Aylesbury in 72 with fond memories of mixed patchouli oil and weed, and oil and water visuals all over the walls and ceilings.
These are most of what I have. This is because the Bucks Herald/Advertiser photographers only went to a few gigs. It's a shame because so many great musicians played at Friars.
A lot of great memories there. Oh to be young and back in 1976 again.

Great Years .... I still remember cold winters buying tickets in Earth records before waiting for concerts ... The Best was The Clash
It was a tad cold sleeping out in the cattle market overnight for Genesis tickets...

First time at friars was captain beefheart 1975 I think was the year but the punk era was amazing they all played there.Cherished memories

I’m looking at this,and remembering alll the great bands I missed. But Bowie can stuff it. Member no 72 Still got it
Friars was manged and promoted by Dave and his wife, Budget Stopps.She did the poster stuff and he did the contacts , acts etc.
