France v NZ, now here's a rivalry for the ages, a rivaly to rival the All Blacks/Springboks rivalry, lol, this clash definitely has a glorious past, the 87 final, the battle of Nantes also in the 80s, France have knocked us out of the World Cup twice and have also lost two finals to us, we love playing France, their silky flamboyance and flair is contrast to our skill, power and pace, be a great game to watch as they all are.....
Et pour nous joué les all blacks c'est toujours un honneur . Que ce soit dans la défaite ou la victoire la Nouvelle-Zélande est toujours respectueuse de l'adversaire . If you were disappointed by the Irish fighting spirit, as a guy from Toulouse, I just want to reassure all you Kiwi rugby fans. Les bleus are definitely ready for it!!! France never takes a game against the All Blacks lightly. Here’s to some great, flowing rugby!
Is that why they're sending a half string team to NZ next year? They're so fickle, racist, and xenophobic. This pish that du pont is best is also bogwash. He never plays a game more than 600miles from Paris. Absolute babies.
@ I agree and i really did not except them to take it easy against the blacks - they also looked exhausted in second half -considering it was one of the first game of the season it isn’t that surprising
French here, and I think New Zealand is a favourite for many reasons. First: They played many more games since June than France. Second: Some Kiwi players impressed me like the number 6 and number 2 specially against Ireland. France brings so much uncapped players to prepare 2027. Third: This the All Blacks and France respect them a lot. Hope too see a good game
Beating France with Roigard ensuring Dupont had a shocker would be a far greater win in my books. If you recall the ABs beat Ireland in the RWC while France absolutely toasted the ABs in the pool match.
Just wondering, why are the SH so obsessed with "beating" the NH? Personally I support Ireland but couldn't care less how other NH teams do against SH teams (and in fact I support anyone playing against England by definition). Maybe I'm wrong but this desire to best the other hemisphere seems to come largely from the South, but it just all feels very contrived to me. Like am I supposed to support Italy over Argentina, Wales over Fiji, or England over Australia, just because they happen to be north of the Equator? Makes no sense to me. Curious to know why a lot of fans of SH teams seem to quite passionately support other SH teams, even if it's a country '000s of miles away with limited cultural or historical ties.
NZ and SA are historically used to dominating rugby and they would expect to win the majority of their games against these NH sides but that has now changed. When fans are complimentary to the opposing side usually its because those sides dont really pose a threat . Take this obsession with winning as a backhanded compliment to the improved competitiveness of the NH sides. We also dont have Premiership level football clubs remember. Our passion is all channeled into our rugby internationals.
@@MrAhuapai That's fair enough, but it seems odd to me for the presenter here to be referring to the "Southern Hemisphere's triumph" with a creepy smirk on her face. Any focus up North I think would be about beating whoever the best teams are (which are typically NZ and South Africa who just happen to both be in the south), but nothing about "beating" the south as a hemisphere per se
Probably the worst game to watch of the tournament so far. In fact it was dire. The only positive was seeing the ABs reduce their penalty count from the previous match.
We kicked once to the corner near the start of the game, instantly decided to throw to the back and Aumua threw it completely crooked, never went for the corner again... Everyone says how wonderful he is... Coach plays him for 78 minutes and people think that's a good thing? Epic razor fail to use bench again. Dmac's interview after the game interestingly did mention that the kicking was the game plan, not the usual Dmac style.
Jeff good balanced response, you can only play what's in front of you but the irish didn't turn up and that's not the All Black fault but that's not to say the All Blacks player well they just played better
You have to give credit where it is due, if the France - Japan was not a grind, that's because Japan are realistically not equipped to do the grind and they have chosen to play an open game as always. Their ejection rate off the rucks is phenomenal. I think that something like 77% of their ruck phase was below 3 seconds. So, the ball did not stay more than 3 seconds in the ruck on the Brave Blossoms side, that is quite something. The Japanese know they cannot compete in the grind phase so they opted to give their opposition a massive cardio exercise instead. Now having said all that, I am not a big fan of Fabien Galthie's approach. We just played Argentina in Argentina earlier in June and for this Northern Tour, les bleus play Japan, New Zealand and Argentina again. Under Galthie, we have played Argentina 4 times during his first 4 years in tenure and Japan 4 times also but we have played New Zealand only once and the Boks only once outside the World Cup 2023 that is, and 5 times the Wallabies (3 without the Top 14 Finalists). I have to wonder, is Galthie more concerned with his stats than he is with the progression of his French side? In comparison, Ireland played 5 times the All Blacks, 3 times the Boks and once the Wallabies. That's quite telling. So no disrespect to Japan and Argentina but I was really hoping to play NZ twice or ABs and Boks back to back at least. I still think France can beat the ABs and the biggest reason would be Fabien Galthie has no choice. Lose this game and we are not going to see the Blacks again before a long time. I understand the Southern Tour for us is a struggle with the Top 14 Finalists being unavailable but the Northern Tour should be more exciting than that from a French point of view.
Jeff is a (great) ex-player come opinionated fan. He's not a rugby analyst, watch SquidgeRugby's analysis to see why it wasn't a free flowing affair that Jeff seems to want to watch. The fact is the ABs played a gameplan and style to win, not one to impress Jeff, and that to me is more impressive
I hope not as a proud bearer of the same beautiful name ^^ So sad he has been unlucky with injuries. I still kinda believe (aka dream) that we would have done better with him with the 10 jersey. (Offseting Dupont's injury and fighting through it). Oh ! Regrets
Average game - would compare the overly officious Aussie ref compared to the kiwi ref for England v Australia. The latter let the game flow and did not call every little infraction - and the game was so much better!
Impossible to ignore the Irish infringement at the breakdown as it was constant & relentless. What the ref should have done was use the yellow card to deter it & we would have seen a much better game.
French here : I cross my finger for les bleus, but... I don't think it will be enough... They could be lethal in attack mode, but the defense against hard attack is not so great. I have a bad feeling about this...
