AH YES, so very true my good man ! We mostly miserable putters are always looking for the magic stick... And a new putter CAN BE magical for a while. But then our same old bad techniques gradually sneak in, and we are looking for another new putter again (and the magic). We individuals are our own problem... and thus it has been ! 😊😊
Just got the jailbird cruiser. I love the way the white strips help square the face to the target, whether it be the cup or an intermediate point. It does it more effectively than anything else I’ve used. The added weight and length gives it a counterweight which to me is very stabilizing.
The shaft is way too long for you which is fine for counter balance but you’re holding it too high in the grip. If you dropped a ball from the bridge of your nose the the ground, in your putting position, it would land like 6” short of where your putter face sits. That’s why you’re hitting it so far left
I've had the Jailbird for a while now and initially it takes a while to get used to it because of the length, but once you do it's great. I initially bought it to help me with putts under 8 feet, and it has helped me there since the head basically swings itself and putts stay on line. However interestingly enough where the putter shines is on longer lag putts. Because of the counterbalance and the AI insert, your distance control will improve a ton, which of course eliminates 3 putts. So if you're watching this video thinking about the jailbird, I say just do it you won't regret it.
@@GabeGallucciGolf It's that "hope springs eternal"... We are convinced that we do have great potential, it's a matter of finding the right device to unleash our great potential. SIlliness. 😊😊
Just picked up the Jailbird to replace an OG spyder. Been a really big fan of it so far, especially as a left-hand low putter. I feel like I am hitting my lines much more consistently. Not sure if you noticed this, but I found it's been tougher at times to get the ball all the way to hole.
Probably because its face balanced and you need a little toe hang like the Cleveland. If you pull left the toe is closing too quickly and toe hang helps negate that.
Conventional grip vs Claw grip....I use this putter now and love it. I switched to the claw/pencil grip a year ago after a lifetime of conventional. For me, using the claw grip, I feel as if my right hand is pushing the ball down the line whereas conventionally my left hand is pulling the ball down the line. I putt significantly better with the claw/pencil grip for that reason.
I'd say the blade is better for your stroke since you come inside on the back stroke and your hands try to correct the put. Having the toe hang of a blade will help with the pulls where as a face balanced putter like the jailbird will be more prone to a pull. I know because I had an extrenly similar stroke to yours, I just couldn't stand having that inside stroke so I completely changed it all together and now I use the jailbird mini.
It looks good when you putt with your cleveland the technique everything the jailbird is also good i like the rhythm especially when you make putts the tempo was the best
Have the jailbird and jailbird mini. Jailbird mini could be the best putter ever made. I have phantom 5.5 circle T and it kills me that the jailbird mini crushes it
same!! Backup is the 5.5 circle H and the Jailbird mini DB is in the bag permanently. I've never made more putts or had more confidence, the roll is INCREDIBLE and its so easy to aim. If you're on the fence about the stock grip, check out the IOMIC Midsize 75g...same weight but better feel and traction IMO. ROll that rock K dawg.
Hey Gabe! love the content, been following for a few years and the progress is amazing. Just something i noticed with your putting in this vid is that you occasionally pick your head up a little bit early during your stroke, especially on lags. May throw off your line? Do what works for you, but just an observation !
Thanks for dropping a comment!! You're totally right, I like to sneak a peak too early haha. I can't even feel that I do it sometimes, deff something I need to be more aware of.
Cleveland for sure! Your tempo, cadence, stroke, and majority of misses were all better with the Huntington Beatch. You KNOW this because you’ve been measured but don’t be afraid to add a little weight to the Cleveland either to feel the head more.
I feel like you using the jail bird with your blade putter was not a fair comparison. The putter doesn't feel the same as a blade going back because there's so much behind the blade on the jail bird. You have to worry about bringing the putter back level and bringing it through level relative to the ground with so much behind that blade. For me the direction of the putter gets thrown off during this process as well as the tempo. This is why I hate every 2 ball putter and mallet. There's too much to deal with behind that blade on those mallet putters. With the weights they're using on the bottom of these double blade putters there's no more need for these mallet types which were brought in to add more weight to the putters. What would have been a fairer comparison would have been your blade putter with the double wide ai cruiser blade. That would be a fair comparison in my book. And for me having hit the double wide cruiser blade enough I'm certain that the AI double wide would have beaten out your blade in distance control as well as direction. The funny thing about the double wide AI cruiser blade is that I had no intention of paying 350 dollars for a putter when I started playing with this putter in the golf shop. I thought the putter was a 35 inch putter that I could duplicate with an older model putter or I could just buy a used 35 inch ai putter for like 180. It was only when someone in the golf shop told me that it was 38 inches that couldn't be replicated in another putter that i thought about coming out of pocket for it. What I began to notice using this putter more and more was that it had a natural pendulum type motion to it that I didn't have to try to make. The club just made the pendulum motion automatically when I swung it. And I didn't have to choke down on the putter to make the motion which for me was great because I'm 6 3 and don't like bending over allot for putts. I didn't know that the club making an automatic pendulum motion was one of it's major features. Usually you buy clubs looking for those advertised features to be verified while you're trying out the clubs and your brain kind works to verify those features in your mind. The fact that I noticed this feature before being apprized of it in the advertising is phenomenal for any type of golf club in my book. I still feel I paid too much for this putter but to me there isn't a putter to match it in length and accuracy. I don't take putting seriously at all in this game but when you have a putter this phenomenal you kind of gravitate to doing so more.
OK, so you had to sit in the car for awhile... but why have that in the video ? Leave the nonsense out and concentrate on your challenge of the 2 completely different putters. 😊😊
A new putter is like a new girlfriend. And then you realize that you were the problem all along.
🤣🤣🤣
Too real man

I really like how you did a total puts-scoring face-off. Most realistic comparison I've seen.

great points and that was why I initially thought it was the right move but I can't seem to make it work for me unfortunately
You're like me, I love my Scotty cameron newport.. But I always buy more putters, just because i'm addicted to them 😂
Its just too much fun! 🤣

Ive heard left hand low has a lot of success with this putter.
I can get it to the hole just not in it 🤣
Claw grips the best for me with any putter , keeps everything online, and been using it since 1981

Have you gotten your hands on GoodGood putter yet? Smoothest feeling shaft anyone could ever want to grip with both hands😊

with the cleveland you are sometimes to flippy through impact on the bad ones
This is royalwood no? love the review i also just bought the jailbird cruiser!
Got a friend whos using the jailbird. Its a decent putter. If it fits your eye then try it for 5-10 rounds

I min 17 seconds… your eyes are clearly not vertically straight above the ball…..probably need to bring the ball 3 inches closer to your toes .
Gabe, where are you located? Looks nice.
Fraser Valley in British Columbia! It’s wonderful here
You are not pulling the putts with your normal grip your alignment is off and when you did the claw it was better
That knee-crack @13:08 though 😬
Ahahahah yep they do it every time
Yep I'd go with that Cleveland blade. I cannot get comfy with the LOOK of mallets. It is a confidence thing, putting..😊
Gonna try putting with a line today with it👍🏻

On short putts you need to be more aggressive then you will make more putts
