I lost my parakeet this morning to gout. i’ve been crying all day and blaming myself for everything. i had him for 11 years and i want to do better for my remaining birds. thank you for the information

We are SO sorry for your loss! 11 years is a long time for a parakeet these days. There has been so much inbreeding, that even with the best of care, weak genes can't be fixed. I'm sure you took great care of your little one and it's great that you are continuing to learn more about bird care. Take care.
