Poptropica is different now because of Adobe Flash Player being discontinued. It was discontinued nearly two years ago, and you’d think that the developers of Poptropica would be making plenty of progress restoring the game to its former glory, yet instead they choose to waste their time on unnecessary features. This is honestly very unacceptable.
Very true, I think they should focus on updating & bringing the older islands back, maybe add a mini quest (like they did for members that dont interfere with the existing content) or something as opposed to removing/adjusting minor details (like the customizer or making puzzles easier). I also miss the time where you can add personality to your profile by answering polls about your likes and dislikes or questions like never have i evers.
i will never forgive them for removing the mystery train, monster carnival, and wild west islands. those ones were my favorite and i never got to finish them 😭

if I recall correctly, flashpoint 11 has islands from early poptropica all the way up to backlot island
My favorite islands were definitely the Greek gods, pioneer islands, and the superhero ones. They had the best costumes and you could get super powers.
i've had the same account for 14 years now. i wish there was a way we could play the old islands, was more fun without sound. i miss being mildly afraid of this game from when i was little (24 carrot was FREAKY without sound, adding music to the game ruined it tbh)
You can play the old islands with your old account using flashpoint. Just look up a video on how to do it
Tbh I like the music it makes everything a little more uncanny which is nice in islands where it’s supposed to be. I just wish they didn’t remove so much content 😭
I'm sensitive to noise so I hate playing games with sound on so 24 carrot was PERFECT for me
I actually tried replaying after your first video and man, they got rid of a ton of amazing islands. I was the VIP kid too and seeing what they have now is just...sad

I think Poptropica happened when I was too much of a boring adult, thus I don't know what island to suggest (because I don't know what they are, lol). I really love this video cause it's surreal to see videos made about the game in 2022. I hope for Poptropica to find a resurgence, possibly from a mega-island update. The game is having growing pains adapting to the new Haxe engine.

You can't use costumizer on the web version but if you buy it on steam, it's more like the old version and has some more old islands. And yes, drinking the milkshakes on 24 carrot will still change your hair color, on both the web and steam version

I found a funny way to play poptropica member islands for free. If you download an older version with the islands, you can open them up to your account, then close the app. After, then it shows the resume your island on the bottom, which you can thrn click on the newest version.
I’ve been playing poptropica since elemtary school… I still login every month to check in on things. (I’m in college now)

Funny enough, when I was younger I’d kept trying to play survival island, but it would NEVER LOAD.
I remember the days where me and my friends had to beg and come up with ways to trick and convince our teachers to let us play poptropica. I remember the days of being too damn stupid to do any of the islands by myself and having to watch thinknoddles guides to get through them. I remember my favorite islands were monster carnival and the Wild West islands and the mall island, those are just the ones I can REMEMBER loving but there was so much more. Now when I think of the state of this game it makes me depressed. So many kids are gonna grow up without this feeling, so sad…

They removed most of the islands and locked them to membership or steam to milk money.
The flashpoint alternative to play old Poptropica feels like revenge against the Poptropica creators who have ruined everything about it. Shame on them for making paying members lose a lot of things they paid $$$ for. But honestly Poptropica was better when it was completely free. Members playing islands early was ok, but then they took things too far by putting members only islands that were previously free. 😂😂😂😂 it’s really sad when idiots come and modernize something that didn’t need fixing and overall just don’t know how to run things. They keep giving us what we don’t want and are overall too lazy to create new interesting islands. I guess all good things really do come to an end.
