      Good job kid...:)) Many of the things you mentioned in the video i did and am afraid to do because it didn't work out favorably.
      A humidifier can cause mole.... I tried that and spent a long time cleaning it up...
      Try an oscillating fan to keep the room cool and spray the plant every once in a while. When it was in the 90's, my windows to my living room was close and i had a fan on the entire time... It kept the heat down.
      Maybe it's the way plants help keep the temperature down.
      I love your video and just subscribed...:)))

    Love your plant tour💚 your dracaenas are turning brown because of over water or sitting in wet soil for too long. I bought two of those on sale for $3 & SCRAPED the black off the stem LOL (& hoped for the best) & it lived! I potted them in cactus soil to help with drainage;)

    Nice tour! Excited to see the rest at your dad's. Lol I use to overkill my plants too. I have been kill free for over a year! Yeah I was in the too much water, too much fertilizer, too much direct sun, and over potted group for awhile.
    Thanks for sharing :)

    I really like your video, and your plants. Its so refreshing to see a younger person loving and taking care of plants. make sure that the plants that are turning brown are getting enough drainage when watering. Too much water can be the kiss of death for most plants. Keep up the good work.

    Hi Ben, I feel the same way about fertilizing, so I have a suggestion or three for you since we know that the nutrition in the soil does get depleted after a while. You can easily use a compost tea for watering each time you water. I'd make sure to go with a really high quality compost though and definitely stay away from the really cheap stuff which is sometimes infested with insects that can be harmful to indoor plants. Another suggestion would be to add a little bit of worm castings to the top of your pots every once in a while. Too, I hope you are making use of the water you remove from the fish bowl. That's wonderful for plants also. I love that you found a way to avoid using chlorinated tap water. I have to collect rain water, but my plants look like they appreciate it. You have an impressive collection of plants and I'm sure you'll be teaching me a thing or two in the future.

      Oh, I forgot. I wanted to say that you should give lessons to almost all of the other people on youtube on how to do a walking tour without making those of us who suffer from motion sickness ill. Most of them swing and jar the camera so much and so fast that I can't get through the whole video sometimes, and this bothers me because I love seeing all the different plants and can use all the tips and advice, etc. I can get. I just watched 3 of your videos in a row with no problem. Loved them and subscribed.

    • @Benzplantz
      @Benzplantz  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Melinda Gore thank you for the tips! I will definitely try the fertilizers. And also thank you for the nice comment, I thought my camera skills were terrible but maybe not lol.

    Great video of your plants. And to see that you're young and interested in planting. That's rare and unique. Keep up the good work and also in my experience, if I'm not successful with a plant I just don't buy it anymore and always go for the hardier plants.

      Me too because I'm like,"ughhh!!!" I bought this plant for no reason. But then I redeem myslef with buying another plant. And I'm happy once again. Good thing I live in Florida and it's always hot and humid and plants seem to enjoy that, especially my tropical plants.

    I watched this again because you have some great ideas for your hanging plants. My fittonias are doing really well with more moisture. I spritz it every morning and every couple of days I put it under a cloche or bell shaped cover...like a little spa day lol I look forward to your videos 😊

    • @Benzplantz
      @Benzplantz  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Barbara M thank you! Yeah I have noticed that fittonias like to stay quite moist, sometimes I put them into the shower and spray them with water and they seem to really like it. (-:

    I really recommend you to buy a mist fogger (usually for fountains decorations) is going for about 9to13 dollars and you can place it inside any water source you manage to place around; that makes you confortable. After a while using it you can clean it with a soft toothbrusher under the sink to maximize performance. Leave it on the whole day and disconnect it at night.It is low cost.

    Great video, I just have a few tips. Your Draecenas seem to get brown tips due to over watering so I would suggest allowing them to dry out between waterings. Also, African Violets don't do well in terracotta pots, the material sucks moister away from leaves. I would repot it in a plastic or glazed pot.

    • @Benzplantz
      @Benzplantz  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      alarm35m thanks for the tip! I probably should do that

    I didn't notice if you have different types of plants in the same family. i.e. so far I have 5 different types of Pepperomias and 6 types of Begonias.... I just love the different textures to each and every one of them.
    My latest that I am enjoying is Mother of Millions that is a succulent. Check out the local green house because I just flipped when I saw it fellow plant lovers...:))

    We must be Plant connected. My two favorite plants are the same as yours and they sit in the same locations next to each other as yours. I have two dracenas that don't do well as you. I found that if I put mine in the shower or my big sink and spray the leaves for watering and the browning and such is decreased

    • @Benzplantz
      @Benzplantz  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sarahs Salvage Shop lol we're like plant twins 😂 and literally dracaena are such a pain /: I used to put many of my plants (including the dracaena) in the shower and spray them like twice a week but I feel like it didn't do anything so I stopped doing it. Idk lol

    Do not water Draecenas any more. Wait until the soil really dry out, then water again. Draecenas hold water in their stems. Only water when the soil is dry out (around every 1 month, or longer ). Remember the less watering the more beautiful their leaves look.

    Second comment:
    Not gonna be preachy about it but do you know the recommended care for goldfish? They really shouldn't be in bowls, goldfish really need something about the size of your spiders tank to be healthy.
    Just figured I'd say that in case you weren't aware, they're very large fish and can live very long in the right condition. Anyway it's your decision either way. Really like your plant collection and your room looks sweet with all the foliage
