You review of order process is gold
Thank you so much! I'm glad it helps.
You make the best food box reviews. You are very informative and honest which I really appreciate. Also you have an incredibly soothing voice haha
Aww thank you about my voice! Lol I'm really glad you find them informative. I try to cover things I think people would want to know to help with their decisions, so it makes me happy that my reviews are helpful!
Best meal kit review I have seen. Thank you!
Thank you so much! If you try it out, I hope you enjoy it!
Back to cooking we go! Thanks ahead of time for watching and let me know what you think. I find it interesting that a 2 meal plan only shows as an option when you pick 4 people, unless that's a fluke. P.S. I said the delivery window is 8am-10pm. I meant 8-8. I went blind for a second! Also, I didn't mention that plant based was a menu category, but you could see it on screen, so there ya go.
great review thank you for detailed info
Thank you so much! I appreciate you leaving a comment. If you try it yourself, let me know!
Are there any meal kits where the veggies and fruit ARE pre prepped?
Thanks for the comment! I honestly don't know. Maybe they can answer if you reach out to them about the menu. I didn't see any that seemed like it as I browsed around for this review, but that doesn't mean they don't have any. It's just very unclear if they do.
Great video! Any chance you would do a review on Squareats? I saw something about it today and it looks completely bonkers, but I would love to see your take on it!
Hi! I appreciate the recommendation. I think I've heard of it but if it's what I think, it's super expensive. I'll look into it just in case it's something different. Thanks for watching!
I also cannot handle a runny egg, just a preference
Yep, it's a texture thing for me for sure!
Interesting that the first boxes daisy sour cream is not organic ? So the products I assume are not 100% Organic that's unfortunate
Thanks for leaving a comment! I don't remember the review at this point, but I think they said they'd inform you if anything isn't organic, and it's mainly their produce/meat etc. It would've made sense for them to use an organic brand for any little packets they include as well, but maybe they have a deal with that company.
Hmm. For the pork cooking that exceeded recommended time - have you thawed that before cooking? Or... Silly me may suggest that you have not heated the pan enough for oil to boil - that's optimal temperature for browning, Maillard reaction?
Thumbs up and thank you for your videos!
edit - for pre-prepping, do they have some artichokes or celery (root celeriac) as an example? Cause these needs quite a lot of pre-prepping ;)
Thanks so much for watching! It'd be hilarious if. The website was full of pictures of the hardest things to prep but didn't do any of them haha Yes, the heat, cookware, meat temp and quality all impact how long it takes to brown or achieve a true maillard reaction.
I didn't brown it for ten hours lol Just longer than what they recommend. All of these services seem to suggest somewhat lower times for things like browning than seen in typical recipes or what those of who've been cooking for years might do for our own preference.
I remember one service said to cook onions for 3-5 minutes until caramelized, and the picture they showed was like a French onion soup levels of caramelization. That's not a 5 minute thing 😂.
I like to think they do that to leave room for error since a lot of people using these services may not cook on their own so they want to be more conservative with some estimates. I really enjoyed the meals here and hope others try the service out!
