  • Prefabricated metal buildings utilized steel for their internal support as well as exterior cladding. These structures are used for their constructability and flexibility in a variety of applications including storage, work spaces and living accommodations. RISA-3D allows users to easily model, load, analyze, design and document metal buildings with standard shapes as well as tapered wide flanges.
    Register to learn how to:
    • Utilize a DXF in the creation of a complete metal building
    • Quickly apply gravity & lateral loading
    • Apply appropriate bracing conditions for proper steel design
    • Review results and create a complete engineering report

I have a couple of questions.
    1) why cannot I optimize the purlins and girt with a section set in a redesign for optimization?
    2) As we apply lateral load why girt are not designed to resist that load? I mean why transient loads are not seen after solving the model? I can see you applied wind load A-B way the columns get all transient load but, are we not desigining girt to resist lateral forces?
    Thank you in advance.

It was a useful webinar to learn how the interface and tools work, however it was disappointing that in the end most of it didn't pass, also you didn't show how to redesign it to comply to code. There should be a part 2 to this webinar.

Hello. How do you design web-tapered members? As far as I know the AISC 360 equations are valid for uniform members, aren't they? Do you comply with MBMA Design Guide 25? 1st or 2nd Edition?
